Shah Rukh Khans Hilarious Confession About His Kids At WAVES 2025, Says I Am A Joke In My House
In a light-hearted moment during his appearance at World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, the superstar opened up about how his own family doesn't take him seriously, no matter how hard he tries.
The conversation was part of a special session titled The Journey: From Outsider to Ruler. While discussing his bond with his children--Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam--Shah Rukh had the audience smiling with his honest yet humorous confession.
"You know, you're often asked if it's lonely at the top. I would just like to tell everyone here, those who are young and have kids, even those who are my age and have kids: you will never be lonely if you can make your children laugh. And for those who don't have children, if you can make your parents laugh, you will never be lonely," said Khan.
"I am so funny to my children. Even when I scold them, I don't really scold them," he said with a laugh.
"Main itna funny hoon mere bacchon ke liye (My kids think I'm so funny), that even when I scold or try to discipline them...I also scolded Deepika while shooting Om Shanti Om. When I say something, like, 'Listen, you have to sleep by 10 o'clock' or something, what do they do? Oh my god, SRK! So, I am a joke in my house," he added.
WAVES 2025 is a four-day summit with the tagline "Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries," aimed at positioning India as a global hub for media, entertainment, and digital innovation. The event brings together creators, startups, industry leaders, and policymakers from around the world.
The summit was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who declared the event a historic milestone in India's cultural and creative journey.
The four-day event, which began on May 1, will run until May 4.

He avoids set meals and prefers lunch from home – usually fish or tandoori chicken with bean sprouts or vegetables. Dinner is often 'tandoori chicken with tandoori roti, generally, and a mutton dish once in a while." Comfort Food and Unusual Choices of SRK If there's one dish he's truly loyal to, it's tandoori chicken. 'I am addicted to it and I can eat it 365 days a year," SRK admitted. He even remembered trying caviar once on an Air India flight, adding, 'It's been a while since I have eaten it anywhere again." While he rarely touches junk food or sweets, SRK does indulge on occasion. 'Sometimes I eat an ice-cream, or chocolate," he said when asked about Indian desserts. He doesn't eat fruits at all. Instead, his wife Gauri makes him what he calls a 'nice ice cream with digestive biscuits." Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub reveals how a simple handshake from Shah Rukh Khan turned his career around. He held me back from leaving and reassured me, saying, 'Stay here, keep working, everything will turn out fine'). About Raees: Raees was a 2017 action drama directed by Rahul Dholakia and jointly produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Excel Entertainment. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Mahira Khan, the film is set in Gujarat during the 1980s and 1990s. It follows the fictional journey of a man who, in a state where alcohol prohibition is strictly enforced, builds a vast empire. The story traces his meteoric rise to power and the personal and professional relationships that shape his path to becoming the most influential figure in Gujarat. What's Next for Zeeshan Zeeshan Ayyub's next project is Nishaanchi, directed by Anurag Kashyap. The film stars newcomer Aaishvary Thackeray, along with Monika Panwar, Vedika Pinto and Kumud Mishra and is slated for release on September 19. Shah Rukh Khan's Upcoming Projects Shah Rukh Khan, meanwhile, is working on King, helmed by Siddharth Anand.
