Poundland fans are wowed after spotting £1 perfume dupe of the £97 Black Opium fragrance & it's the perfect handbag size

WITH the cost-of-living crisis skyrocketing, affording the finer things in life is becoming challenging for many cash-strapped beauty buffs.
Whether it's your favourite make-up essential or a designer perfume, many of us have had to give up our go-to products to save cash.

However, thrifty shoppers have discovered a brand new dupe on the high street - and it's almost 100x cheaper than the real version.
So if you're looking to smell fabulous this season without emptying your bank account, you may wish to keep reading.
One bargain-mad person, a member of the popular Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, revealed that Poundland has now added a £1 scent they reckon is an alternative to the posh YSL Black Opium.
The aroma - Dark Aura - will set you back just a quid, while the designer version for a similar amount retails for more than an eye-watering £97.
While the two bottles look nothing alike, thrifty beauty lovers have noted the perfume ''smells really nice''.
Those who have already tried the scent for themselves, said it was ''lovely'' - however, many did warn you might need to top it up every now and then.
Despite this, it still works out cheaper to go through a full bottle of the cut-price version compared to forking out the astronomical sum for the designer bottle.
Since being posted on the popular page, the post has racked up over 20 likes and close to a dozen comments.
Many social media users flocked to share their thoughts - as well as their top picks for smelling fabulous on a budget.
One said: ''These are lovely smells, home bargains do some good dupes and savers do.''
Primark releases £2 minis of its cult Sol de Janeiro perfume dupes - there's four scents to nab… and one of them is brand new
A second was raving over the purse-friendly scents, writing: ''Handy for your hand bag and if you don't want to use expensive stuff.
''I've had a few different bottles from Poundland, lovely scents.''
''I love their fragrances,'' someone else praised the discount retailer.

Poundland closures
This comes just days after Poundland announced the exact date of another high street store closure as it begins shuttering sites.
The budget chain is set to close four stores in May as its owner, Polish retailer Pepco Group, looks to offload the business.
The latest store to confirm a closure date is in Gravesend's St George's Centre.
The site will be shuttered for good on Thursday May 8.
The closure of Poundland's Gravesend site will come less than a week after it pulls down the shutters on sites in London's Clapham Junction railway station and a the Belle Valle shopping centre in Liverpool.
The Clapham Junction site will close on Friday May 2, while the Liverpool branch will be shut from Tuesday May 6.
Poundland is also preparing to close its store in Brackla, Wales, which is going to cease trading on May 24.
Just last month, Poundland was forced to shut its Belfast branch after the Connswater Shopping Centre was placed into receivership.

How to save money at B&M Shoppers have saved hundreds of pounds a year by using B&M's scanner app. The scanner lets you see if an item's price is cheaper than advertised on the shop floor label. Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift. The app is free to download off the B&M Stores mobile app via Google Play or the Apple App Store. According to one ex-B&M manager, you'll want to visit your local branch at 10am on a Wednesday too. Here's how you can join the B&M bargain hunt: Download the B&M app for free on any smartphone with an App Store or Google Play. Once you've installed it on your device, click on the option labelled "more" on the bottom, right-hand side of the app home page. You'll then find an option that says "barcode scanner". Click on this and you'll open a camera screen. Use the camera to hover over the barcode of the product you wish to check. If the price comes up as lower, take it to the cash desk and it will automatically scan at the lower price. You don't need to sign up to the B&M app to use the barcode scanner. Parents were eager to get their hands on the bargains after seeing others' hauls. One person wrote: "Great Christmas presents for some." Another commented: 'Definitely need to go and look." "I got a big trolley full as well," penned a third. Someone else added: 'I managed to get a cheap Barbie style speed boat for £1 but that was the only item left." More Bargains

Sydney Sweeney shows off FIVE different looks in one day including chic suits and a dramatic gown during incredibly stylish press tour for her new film Echo Valley

Sydney Sweeney stepped out in no less than five different looks as she promoted her new film, Echo Valley, in New York on Wednesday. Especially in recent years, actresses and actors have used fashion to complement their promotional tours and draw attention to the upcoming film release. And the Hollywood actress, 27, took full advantage of the marketing technique as she stepped out in an array of eye-catching looks this week. First thing in the morning, Sydney, who has been working with working with stylist Molly Dickson, was spotted leaving her hotel wearing a chic nautical Coperni look. Sydney wore a black button-through vest with a white striped sailor collar, which she styled with a pleated white mini skirt with a fun asymmetrical hem. The White Lotus star completed the ensemble with a pair of black Wayfarer sunglasses and sported a pair of heeled knee-high boots. By the time she arrived for her Good Morning America appearance, Sweeney had swapped into an archival Jean Paul Gaultier suit dress. Embracing the 'no pants trend', Sydney showed of her toned legs in a pair of brown pumps, which perfectly complemented the tone of the jacket and tie. The jacket is from Jean Paul Gaultier's fall 2005 collection that was sewn up the centre and teamed with a matching tie. Sydney has embraced the fashion marathon element of the press tour and was later seen out again in another brown ensemble. This time, Sydney was sporting Oscar de la Renta from the fashion house's fall 2025 collection as she once again exited her luxury hotel. Her outfit was a lightly blue checked silk co-ord, including a short-sleeved pussy bow blouse teamed with a pair of wide-legged trousers. She added a further pop of colour with a pair of pale blue heels, while accessorising with quirky shades and a cream clutch bag. By the evening, Sydney was onto her third look as she attended the film's premiere. The starlet embraced 'method dressing' as she attended the event wearing a scarlet gown, which boasted a train following her down the carpet. The dress appeared to be a nod to a moment she has previously discussed in the film, where she arrives on her mother's doorstep covered in blood. Sydney stars opposite Julianne Moore in the psychological thriller, where she plays an addict named Claire and follows the story of how a mother will go for their child. Speaking about the plot previously, Sydney said: 'My character Claire is not the best daughter and she puts her mom through a lot. Claire shows up covered in blood at her mother's doorstep. She attended the premiere with Julianne and Kyle MacLachlan, who plays her father, where the sizzling sensation put her décolletage on display in a plunging gown. Her luxurious scarlet frock was cinched in around her enviably svelte midsection before flowing into a luxurious skirt that flowed across the floor. With ruched accents around her tiny waistline, the sumptuous dress accentuated Sydney's curves to full advantage as she sauntered across the carpet. She later looked incredible as she headed to the afterparty of her Echo Valley premiere at Lincoln Ristorante. She slipped into a figure-hugging cocktail dress as she celebrated the release of the film The Hollywood star, who styled the look with a pair of red pumps, stopped to snap selfies with a fan who caught her outside the swanky eatery Sydney slipped into a figure-hugging cocktail dress as she celebrated the release of the film. The form-fitting style of the dress flattered her hourglass shape, while the asymmetric hemline showed off her toned legs. Sydney wore her blonde locks loose in soft waves, while sporting a face of soft glamorous make-up in a nude pallet. The Hollywood star, who styled the look with a pair of red pumps, stopped to snap selfies with a fan who caught her outside the swanky eatery. The multiple outings came shortly after she finally broke her silence on her split from Jonathan Davino. Sydney and Jonathan, 41, started dating 2018 and got engaged in 2022 but kept their romance largely out of the public eye. Over the past few months, though, they were trailed by a swirl of rumors that they had called off the wedding, fueled by Sydney's sightings without his ring. Last week she finally put the swirling speculation to bed by confirming her relationship status while plugging her new film to The Times. When she was asked whether she was still planning her wedding, she replied: 'No,' and when prodded on whether she was single, she said: 'Yes.' The form-fitting style of the dress flattered her hourglass shape, while the asymmetric hemline showed off her toned legs Sydney wore her blonde locks loose in soft waves, while sporting a face of soft glamorous make-up in a nude pallet Sydney flashed a beaming smile as she left the venue She later got into a car to leave the celebratory bash Sydney and Jonathan, 41, started dating 2018 and got engaged in 2022 but kept their romance largely out of the public eye; pictured in 2018 Echo Valley stars Julianne as a horse trainer on a Pennsylvania farm and Sydney as her daughter, who turns up one day spattered with someone else's blood, triggering a thriller plotline and a family drama. Julianne posed proudly beside Sydney at the premiere this Wednesday, demonstrating the resemblance between the pair. The Oscar-winning actress brought back memories of the 1980s in a black gown with raised shoulders that appeared to have been done in velvet or velour. Her unmistakable red hair was teased into a silken bob, and her makeup brought out a luminous glow in her complexion as she beamed next to her onscreen daughter. Julianne attended the gala at AMC Lincoln Square on the arm of her casually dressed son Caleb Freundlich, who has followed her footsteps into showbiz and become a singer-songwriter under the name Caleb Moore. Sydney and Julianne also gathered together for a group shot with their co-star Kyle MacLachlan, who plays the husband of Julianne's character. Kyle, Julianne and Sydney also stood for pictures with their dashing castmates Edmund Donovan, Domhnall Gleeson and Albert Jones. Directed by Michael Pearce, the film also features Fiona Shaw, who is best known to moviegoers around the world as Harry Potter's Aunt Petunia. Echo Valley will receive a limited theatrical release in the United States this Friday, and next Friday will become more widely available on Apple TV+.

And now the divisive shower curtain mania is back, with many thrifty homeowners proudly showing off their fence makeovers on the cheap. While this is indeed a wallet-friendly option for a quick and easy transformation, it's sparked a fierce debate online - with critics dubbing the look ''terrible''. But despite the backlash, it looks like plastic shower curtains are here for yet another season - whether some like it or not. One place where the garden trend has returned is the popular Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, with dozens of Brits proudly showing off their outdoor glow-ups. One person, Remi Mason, said their mum had attached eBay shower curtains to her fence - which now featured a faux waterfall effect. Although the photos were allegedly submitted to the group in lockdown, it wasn't until recently the post was approved - and heaps of others revealed they'd jumped on the trend too. A fellow member, Lynnsey Wilson, uploaded a snap of her upgraded garage - that was now hiding behind a cottage-feel curtain. ''I've done this,'' said Tania Denning, who had attached a shower curtain featuring the Buddha in front of a gorgeous flower display. Meanwhile, Debbie Joynt opted for a more tropical design to cover the unsightly garage. If you too are keen to spruce up your garden this season on the cheap, the options for affordable shower curtains are endless - and there are heaps of prints to choose from. I hate my new build garden being overlooked so found a 5 METRE privacy fence to block out nosy neighbours for under £30 While some Facebook users found budget-friendly versions from Shein for less than £8, the China-based marketplace offers even cheaper ones - for as little as £2. Rival Temu also has a mega variety of shower curtains for a garden overhaul - some cheap picks include a rainforest-themed curtain for just £6 or even a hidden oasis one for £7. When it comes to fixing the material to your fence, DIY-loving Brits are using a staple gun - and it takes just seconds.
