Poll
Do you think Bharat Arun will be a good fit as the bowling coach for LSG?
Yes, he has a proven track record No, I have doubts about his effectiveness
On Tuesday, KKR had announced that they are parting ways with head coach Chandrakant Pandit and Arun. In the post in social media, KKR said that the decision was mutual.
KKR had finished seventh in the IPL seasons of 2022 and 2023. Although they were champions in 2024, their success was largely credited to mento Gautam Gambhir. They finished eighth this year.

What Did Dejected Abhimanyu Easwarans Father Say To Gambhir & Co On Sons Continuous Snub From Playing 11?
India batter Abhimanyu Easwaran has yet to feature in the playing XI for any of the five Tests against England, despite being part of the squad. The 29-year-old is still waiting to make his Test debut for India, even though he has consistently received call-ups since 2021. Easwaran has built an impressive record in first-class cricket, amassing 7,841 runs in 103 matches, including 27 centuries. A mainstay of the Bengal domestic side, he has been one of the most reliable performers in the domestic circuit. However, his continued exclusion from the national team in any format has left many puzzled. His omission from the fifth and final Test at The Oval has especially drawn attention. India finished Day 1 at 204 for 6, with Karun Nair and Washington Sundar at the crease. The decision to play Nair instead of Easwaran has sparked criticism, particularly from Easwaran's father, Ranganathan, who publicly questioned the selection call. 'I'm not keeping a count of the number of days that Abhimanyu has been waiting for his Test debut. I am counting the years; it has been three years now. What is the job of a player? It is to score runs," Ranganathan told 'He has done that. People said he didn't perform in two India A matches during the last tour of Australia and didn't get into the team, which is fair enough. But Karun Nair wasn't in the team during the period when Abhimanyu performed before the BGT," he added. Ranganathan also expressed concern over his son's mental state, suggesting that Easwaran may be feeling low after repeatedly being sidelined despite his consistent performances. He criticized the weight given to IPL performances when it comes to red-ball selection. 'My son looks a little depressed, but that is bound to happen. Some players jump the gun based on IPL performances, which earn them a spot in the Test team. IPL performances should not be counted while selecting the team for the longest format. Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy and Irani Trophy should be the basis for Test selection," he stated. Easwaran last played in June during a two-match Test series for India A against the England Lions, where he registered two half-centuries. Still, players like Karun Nair and Sai Sudharsan were chosen over him and given repeated opportunities during the ongoing England series. 15 Players that played before him - KS Bharat, Suryakumar Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ishan Kishan, Mukesh Kumar, Prasidh Krishna, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel, Akash Deep, Devdutt Padikkal, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana, Sai Sudharsan, and Anshul Kamboj.

Focus on preserving legacy of Manchester: Originals owner
Sanjiv Goenka during an IPL match (PTI Photo) LONDON: Strong winds of change are blowing across English cricket with Indian corporates acquiring ownership of franchises in The Hundred. While there are some concerns that these acquisitions can impact the culture of English cricket, the RPSG group, owners of Lucknow Super Giants and Durban Super Giants, are focused on preserving the heritage of Lancashire County as they go into the 'The Hundred' season with Manchester Originals. The first step towards it has been appointing local boy Phil Salt the captain of the franchise. RPSG group chairman Sanjiv Goenka has claimed that Jos Buttler had declined the offer to lead the side as he felt he was a better player if he was not captaining a side. 'I had discussions with Jos. He said he will captain the side if I insist. But I felt it was not right to force him. Salt is a product of Lancashire and has been doing really well. So, it made more sense to appoint him the captain,' Goenka told TOI . Goenka emphasised that it was imperative to honour the heritage and history of clubs like Lancashire. 'We are conscious of the legacies of these clubs. We have acquired other legacy brands earlier as well. We understand the importance of preserving the legacy and heritage like we are careful about Mohun Bagan,' Goenka said. 'The heritage helps in a big way. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like No annual fees for life UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo You get a readymade fanbase. Manchester is a very renowned sports city in the UK. The culture is very strong. The stadium has a good capacity. We understand that we need to retain the advantage,' he said. Salt, too, harped on the culture of the city and the loyal fan base. 'To captain Manchester Originals — in the city where I grew up, where I first fell in love with the game — is more than just an honour. We've got a strong squad, a loyal fan base, and a lot of ambition. I can't wait to get stuck in and make this city proud,' Salt said. 'I've walked into Old Trafford as a boy with wide eyes, and now I walk in with the responsibility to lead a group of world-class players. I'm excited to begin this chapter under Dr Goenka's visionary leadership,' he added. Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4. Watch Here!

Bengaluru stampede: Maharaja Trophy likely to be shifted out of M Chinnaswamy stadium; Alur, Mysore likely venues
The Maharaja Trophy matches are unlikely to be played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium after the stampede in June outside the venue. Bengaluru: With police permission still elusive, Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 tournament, scheduled from August 11 to 27 is likely to be moved out of the M Chinnaswamy stadium to either KSCA Alur Stadium, on Bengaluru's outskirts, or the Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar ground in Mysuru. On July 11, Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) announced that the fourth edition of the annual franchise-based tournament will be a closed-door event. It is learnt that the city police are yet to give the tournament a go-ahead. Confirming this, a source told TOI that they're looking at other venues. The Bengaluru stadium witnessed a stampede during Royal Challengers Bengaluru's IPL victory parade in early June, which claimed 11 lives. There have been questions raised on the infrastructure and safety measures at the 50-year-old stadium, which was further highlighted in the Justice D'Cunha report submitted to the state government last week. Although the event has been announced as a closed-door event, apprehensions remain. '…..Until such infrastructural changes are made, continuing to host high-attendance events at the current location poses unacceptable risks to public safety, urban mobility and emergency preparedness.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Libas Purple Days Sale Libas Undo While KSCA president Raghuram Bhat was unavailable for comments, Bengaluru City police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh was non-committal: 'We have received a proposal and the same has been sent to the jurisdiction police station for verification.' FRANCHISES MIFFED Multiple franchises TOI spoke to are miffed with the prevailing uncertainties. They are expected to meet on Friday evening to discuss the further course of action. A franchise representative said, 'KSCA has taken the franchises for granted. We are the major stakeholders, and they have to respect that. Barring one unofficial communication from a managing committee member, we have no other information from the association.' With premier hotels booked and logistics worked out, the franchises are now worried about the losses they will incur. 'No hotel is going to give us a 100% refund. We've spent several lakhs to book almost two dozen rooms in a five-star hotel. This apart, if the tournament moves from here, it is going to be a logistical nightmare,' said a stakeholder from another franchise. The two venues being considered come with different challenges. The Alur facility, which is ideal cricket-wise, has no floodlights or spectator galleries. Which means the tournament will have to be held during the day, which makes it unsuitable for franchises and broadcasters. 'We agreed to play closed door, but our sponsorship proposals were based on the live coverage on a national sports channel. There will be legal implications for us if the sponsors pull out, since Alur also does not have permanent broadcast facilities. It is a joke if we have to play Maharaja Trophy like local league matches,' lamented a team official. Mysuru, which has a good stadium with four wickets, will be in a race against time to get its four wickets up and running, with rain being a constant in the area for over a month, leading to most of the league matches being postponed or called off.
