5 golfers who shockingly missed the cut at the 2025 Scottish Open
American Chris Gotterup (-11) holds a two-stroke lead over the field after two rounds while Ludvig Aberg (-8), Matt Fitzpatrick (-8), Rory McIlroy (-7) and Xander Schauffele (-6) lurk behind him. But just as notable as the names battling it out on Saturday and Sunday are some of the names who didn't even make the cut.

Pre-tournament odds: 25-1 to win
Easily the most shocking name on the list if only because Morikawa seemed safely inside the cut line when the day began. The American shot a 68 on Thursday, was one-over through nine to start his Friday and then completely collapsed to shoot six-over on the back nine — including three straight bogeys to end the round. He finished with a disappointing 76 and will look to rebound at The Open next week.
J.J. Spaun (+2)
Pre-tournament odds: 60-1 to win
It wasn't a bad week for Spaun, who shot an opening-round 70 to remain at even par, but he trended the wrong way with a two-over 72 on Friday with three bogeys. on just one birdie.
Aldrich Potgieter (+2)
Pre-tournament odds: 100-1 to win
What a rollercoaster few weeks for the 20-year-old South African. After taking T6 at the Charles Schwab Challenge, Potgieter won the Rocket Classic, then withdrew from the John Deere Classic after three rounds for undisclosed reasons. Now he's cut from the Scottish Open after shooting 70-72 through two days.
Max Greyserman (E)
Pre-tournament odds: 80-1 to win
Greyserman tied for runner-up at the Rocket Classic at the end of June after quite a few promising starts. That just couldn't continue on as the tour moved across the Atlantic. The American went 70-70 and had birdie putts on his final two holes on Friday that he may be thinking about quite a bit this weekend.
Sungjae Im (E)
Pre-tournament odds: 80-1 to win
Im also went 70-70 in his first two rounds to miss the cut in what's been a pretty strange season overall for him. He has just three Top 10 finishes in 21 events this year while missing the cut in a third of his starts — including the John Deere Classic, RBC Canadian Open, PGA Championship and Genesis Invitational. Im did finish tied for seventh at The Open last year, so maybe he's due for another good week in a few days.

She has already won gold in the 200 IM and 400 freestyle. McIntosh is bidding for five individual gold medals in Singapore after winning three individual Olympic gold medals in Paris. Yu Zidi, the 12-year-old Chinese swimmer, is the eighth-fastest qualifier in the field as she tries to reach the podium. She was fourth in the 200 IM.
