Sabrina Carpenter might 'piss off' fans with new phone policy at her concerts
The 25-year-old pop star, who's currently enjoying a chart-topping moment with her hit Manchild, told Rolling Stone in a new interview that she was 'absolutely' considering introducing phone-free gigs, even if the decision isn't immediately popular with fans.
She revealed that the idea first struck her after she attended a Silk Sonic show in Las Vegas.
'This will honestly piss off my fans,' she admitted to the publication.
'I went to see Silk Sonic in Vegas, and they locked my phone. I've never had a better experience at a concert.'
She described the Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak–led concert as feeling 'like I was back in the '70s,' a time when fans were fully immersed in live music instead of watching it through a screen.
'Genuinely felt like I was there. Everyone's singing, dancing, looking at each other, and laughing. It really, really just felt so beautiful,' she added to the outlet.
The star said that because she has grown up in the age of iPhones at shows, it feels 'super normal' to her to constantly be starring at the artist through her camera lens.
Although she hasn't enforced any formal ban yet, Sabrina revealed the concept has been on her mind as she imagines her future self performing for decades to come.
'Depending on how long I want to be touring, and what age I am, girl, take those phones away,' she joked.
'You cannot zoom in on my face. Right now, my skin is soft and supple. It's fine. Do not zoom in on me when I'm 80 years old up there.'
For now, the Espresso singer is still letting fans film and snap pics of her on stage - but it seems that after her experience - she's gently urging them to stay more present.
Sabrina joins a growing wave of artists - including Adele, Madonna, and Bob Dylan - who have spoken out about the distractions caused by phones during performances.
Despite the success of her new single - ahead of her album Man's Best Friend dropping August 29 - the Feather singer is in hot water over her raunchy album cover, which features her provocatively kneeling beside a suited man with a fistful of her hair.
She recently clapped back at the backlash on X.
When one user asked, 'Does she have a personality outside of sex?' the 26-year-old pop star replied on Monday: 'Girl yes and it is goooooood.'
Sabrina has also received criticism for the simulated sex positions she demonstrated onstage while performing her song Juno during her Short n' Sweet Tour.
'It's always so funny to me when people complain,' Sabrina told Rolling Stone.
'They're like, "All she does is sing about this." But those are the songs that you've made popular. Clearly, you love sex. You're obsessed with it. It's in my show.'
The two-time Grammy winner continued: 'There's so many more moments than the Juno positions, but those are the ones you post every night and comment on.
'I can't control that. If you come to the show, you'll [also] hear the ballads, you'll hear the more introspective numbers.
'I find irony and humor in all of that because it seems to be a recurring theme. I'm not upset about it, other than I feel mad pressure to be funny sometimes.'

Britney Spears sings off-key Prince song in strange performance from California mansion
Britney Spears has sung an off-key rendition of Prince 's ' Kiss ' from her California mansion. Sharing the performance on Instagram to her 41.8 million followers on Monday (18 August), the singer can be seen walking into frame whilst belting out 'I don't know who I am', as she adjusts the ring light next to her camera. She captioned the post: 'I would say, Julia Roberts singing Prince's 'Kiss' off key a touch, but I sounded really good behind the lens lol.' Spears appears to refer to Roberts' character singing the song in the 1990 film ' Pretty Woman '. Wearing a crop top, some white shorts, and a pair of thigh high boots, the 43-year-old said she was wearing her pyjamas to clean, though added that it was 'not the most elegant look'.

NFL star's wife gives bizarre emergency contact to her daughter's school
Diana Bojorquez, wife of Browns punter Corey Bojorquez, revealed the unexpected choice she made when listing an emergency contact for their daughter's school. As their toddler prepares to start school in Ohio, Diana posted a video on TikTok explaining the difficulty of navigating parenthood while living far from family. Diana explained: 'My toddler is going to start school next month, and we don't have any family out here where he plays in Ohio. 'And we don't really have friends outside of football just because we get so busy. We have a couple, but they don't live near us, like in the same city, so they live far.' Without close family or local friends nearby, Diana turned to a reliable, but somewhat unconventional, solution in the Cleveland Browns ' security team. 'I put the Cleveland Browns security number as her emergency contact,' she said in the video. @dianawonggg I mean it seemed like the most logical thing to do lol #nflfootball #nfl #clevelandbrowns #nfllife #nflwife #wag #momlife ♬ original sound - Diana Bojorquez 🦋 'I know that in the case where they can't reach me or my husband, they will pick up their phones. 'They will have access to him when I probably won't have access to him, like if he's in a meeting or something.' In an interview with People magazine following the viral video, Diana said she received messages from both friends and fellow NFL wives praising the idea. 'I do have some friends that have been past teammates here that are now on other teams [who] have mentioned like, 'Oh my gosh, that's such a great idea. I never thought about that,' she said. 'Even some wives that I've never met before but are in the league, they've come to me like, 'Definitely going to do that.'' Diana and Corey Bojorquez share two young daughters. Her family lives in Hawaii, while his parents are based in California, leaving the couple without nearby relatives to help with day-to-day logistics in Ohio. Bojorquez is entering his fourth season with the Browns and his eighth in the NFL overall. He led the league in total punt yardage and recorded the season's longest punt in 2024.
