Concert economy: US rapper Malone to perform in Guwahati on Dec 8
Guwahati: Assam on Wednesday formally initiated steps to develop a concert economy in the state, which has seen remarkable growth in the country in recent years, driven by rising disposable incomes, a young and experience-driven demographic, rapid digital adoption, and an increasing appetite for large-scale live entertainment events.
Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that to begin with, American rap and hip-hop artiste Post Malone will perform in Guwahati on Dec 8.
Sarma's announcement came after the state cabinet approved the "Policy for Concert Tourism in Assam," which aims to position the state as a premier music and tourism hub to host large scale concerts and music festivals.
Under this policy, state-of-the-art concert venues equipped with world class light and sound technology will be developed and the state tourism department will support concerts with required viability gap funding.
Guwahati, Dibrugarh and Jorhat will be developed as concert tourism hubs under this policy.
This will be Post Malone's second performance in India. The first one took place in Dec 2022 at Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi endorsed India's growing concert economy during his address at the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave in Jan where he said, "In a country with such a rich heritage in music, dance and storytelling, with such a large pool of youth and a massive consumer base for concerts, there are vast opportunities for the concert economy.

"Chris Martin, Dakota Johnson wanted to experience...": Sonali Bendre recalls her Babulnath Temple visit with Coldplay singer, Hollywood actress
New Delhi [India], June 7 (ANI): British band Coldplay's lead vocalist, Chris Martin, came to India earlier this year and surprised his desi fans not only with his soulful concerts but also with his spiritual side. Before his gigs at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on January 18 and 19, Chris, along with Hollywood actress Dakota Johnson, paid a sacred visit to the iconic Babulnath Temple. They were joined by Bollywood star Sonali Bendre and 'Swades' fame actress Gayatri Oberoi. Several images and videos went viral in which Chris, Dakota, Sonali and Gayatri were seen offering prayers. Dakota and Chris, who have now reportedly parted ways, embraced Indian culture with full devotion. Sonali and Gayatri also accompanied Dakota to the iconic Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai back in January. Dressed in traditional attire, the trio appeared to be in high spirits, engaging in a lively conversation as they made their way through the temple grounds. Recalling meeting Chris and Dakota, Sonali in an Interview with ANI, shared, ' She's (Dakota) such a lovely person. It was my yoga teacher who told me that, you know what, somebody is coming in and they want to be taken to a few temples. Will you do this? I'm like, okay, who is it? And that's how I get to know. So I think Chris and her (Dakota) wanted to have a temple experience. And I think that's an experience everybody should have at some point. It was lovely. With her (and Chris), the night before everybody got to know we had visited Babulnath Temple. And then the next day, we visited Siddhivinayak Temple.' Meanwhile, Chris and Dakota recently made headlines with their alleged break-up. A source informed US-based magazine PEOPLE about their split. 'It feels final this time,' one source said of the split. Reps for the stars did not respond to PEOPLE's requests for comment. In March 2024, an insider told PEOPLE that Johnson and Martin had actually been engaged for 'years' after first sparking engagement rumours in 2020, though they were 'in no rush to get married' at the time. When breakup rumors surfaced in August 2024, a rep for the actress shut down the reports and said the pair were 'happily together.' Around the same time, a source said, 'Sure, they've had issues and taken breaks in the past, but things are great now. They both love their careers. They are balancing things the best they can.' Prior to that, a source said in June 2024 that Johnson and Martin, who mostly kept their relationship private, had their 'ups and downs, but now they're definitely back on.' Chris and Dakota have not addressed their separation rumours yet. (ANI)

5 themes from older GTA games that GTA 6 could modernize
(Image via Rockstar Games) The GTA VI Trailer 2 dropped on May 6, 2025, just days after the game's development delay was confirmed. But despite the wait, fans are more hyped than ever. With Vice City making a grand return and Rockstar teasing deep social commentary once again, one question lingers—which classic GTA themes could Rockstar revamp for the modern era? Here are 5 old-school GTA themes that GTA 6 could upgrade for a new era. 1. The American Dream (GTA IV) Niko Bellic's pursuit of the American Dream in GTA IV was one of the franchise's most grounded story arcs. His journey exposed the myth of success in a corrupt system. In GTA 6 , Rockstar could take this theme further, exploring how today's American Dream is warped by social media, influencer culture, and crypto-fueled illusions of success. Imagine a character chasing wealth and status through Instagram likes and tech scams, only to crash into the same disillusionment Niko faced. All Gangs in GTA San Andreas Definitive Edition - Facts and Curiosities 2. Gang Culture and Loyalty (GTA: San Andreas) GTA: San Andreas gave us unforgettable narratives around gang loyalty and betrayal. In GTA VI, this could evolve into modern crime syndicates, social-media-fueled turf wars, and even politically charged activist groups. With Lucia and Jason operating as a duo, loyalty might once again take center stage, with brutal consequences. 3. Weird America (GTA V) From alien conspiracies to doomsday cults, GTA loves its oddballs. Now throw in crypto bros, AI start-ups in swamps, Flat Earthers, and "Florida Man" headlines, and GTA 6 has the ultimate playground. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Rockstar could go all-in on modern absurdity—and it would still feel grounded in today's America. 4. Identity and Dual Lives (GTA V) Michael lived a double life as a retired criminal and family man. Trevor was chaos personified. Franklin wanted legitimacy but was stuck in the underworld. These identity struggles remain relevant, but GTA 6 could take it further. Think characters juggling criminality with social media personas, or navigating identity in a polarized world. How far can you live a lie before it breaks you? GTA 6 Trailer 2 Nightlife, Missions & Gameplay Leaks Confirmed! 5. Party Scenes Rebooted (GTA: Vice City) The neon-lit nightlife of 1980s Vice City was iconic. Now, imagine that reimagined with modern music festivals, TikTok dance challenges, underground raves, and the influencer club culture of Miami. GTA VI could blend that vibrant energy with dark undertones of crime, drugs, and identity crisis in the social media age. Rockstar knows how to reflect society's madness through chaos, crime, and comedy. With GTA VI, they're not just modernizing gameplay—they're updating the cultural mirror. And we can't wait to see what stares back.
