Sitaare Zameen Par recorded an occupancy rate of 21.43 per cent across the Hindi-speaking regions, with the highest turnout during night shows.
Background
The first-day collections are slightly lower than the opening day collection of Aamir's last release, Laal Singh Chaddha, which earned Rs 11.7 crore in 2022.
However, Laal Singh Chaddha went on to earn only around Rs 60 crore in total. In comparison, Taare Zameen Par had earned Rs 2 crore on its opening day in 2007.
While the first-day figures are not exceptional, the film is expected to pick up momentum over the weekend due to strong word-of-mouth and positive audience feedback.
Sitaare Zameen Par is directed by RS Prasanna. The film also stars Genelia D'Souza. Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, with B Shrinivas Rao and Ravi Bhagchandka, have backed the film.

Reliance Jio announced that it has partnered with BattleGrounds Mobile India (BGMI) developer Krafton to bring new prepaid plans for gamers. The network operator's latest plans not only offer high-speed unlimited 5G but also come with exclusive Battlegrounds Mobile India goodies. As part of its collaboration with Krafton, Jio introduced two plans that cost Rs 495 and Rs 545, respectively and have a validity of 28 days. The Rs 495 plan comes with 1.5GB of 4G mobile data per day, unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS every day and offers an additional 5GB of data. As for the Rs 545 plan, you get 2GB of 4G mobile data every 24 hours, unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day and an additional 5GB of data. These plans also give you access to JioGames Cloud, the company's cloud-based gaming service that lets you play games without having to download them. While these perks may sound familiar, these plans also include a bunch of BGMI goodies like Bard's Journey Set, Desert Taskforce Mask, and Tap Boom Molotov Cocktail.
