Pro Football Focus provides odds for MSU to reach College Football Playoff

Pro Football Focus (PFF) is giving Michigan State essentially no chance at reaching the College Football Playoff in 2025.
While I'm personally bullish on the Spartans and think they have the ceiling potential to contend for a spot in the College Football Playoff, that is simply not the case with PFF. The well-known football rating site is giving the Spartans a 2% chance of reaching the College Football Playoff this fall.
There Spartans' 2% chance of reaching the College Football Playoff from PFF is tied for the lowest in the Big Ten. Michigan State is tied with Northwestern and Purdue for the longest odds of reaching the College Football Playoff.
Michigan State comes into this season with a win total over/under of 5.5 so simply reaching a bowl game is the first and most realistic goal for the Spartans. But I'm still surprised to see teams such as UCLA, Maryland and Wisconsin having better odds from PFF than the Spartans.
Check out the complete graphic of Big Ten team odds to reach the College Football Playoff from PFF:

Spartan Stadium gets minor upgrades, updates ahead of upcoming 2025 season

It appears the updates to Spartan Stadium are going to be wrapped up just in time for opening kickoff later this month. Spartan Stadium has gone through a facelift this offseason, with some minimal but notable updates to the home of Michigan State football. The official Michigan State University social media account posted a few pictures of the updates being made to Spartan Stadium this offseason, with the notable items being related to the scoreboards and east side of the stadium. In the post below, you'll see that the Spartan helmet logo has been updated on the two scoreboards on the south side of Spartan Stadium. Additionally, one notable fan account -- OdellBretthamJr -- pointed out that the east side of the stadium (the worst looking spot of the stadium) has been painted to make it look better. Check out the pictures of the new look Spartan Stadium below: As I mentioned off the top, these are minor updates but certainly nice touches. Especially the east side that got a new paint job. Michigan State will open its doors to Spartan Stadium for the first time this season on August 29 in the season-opener against Western Michigan. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and will be televised on FS1. Notre Dame star RB Jeremiyah Love has signed a NIL deal with New Balance

You can add yet another Name, Image and Likeness deal for Notre Dame star running back Jeremiyah Love, as he will now partner with New Balance, according to their press release they shared with Fighting Irish Wire. He is their latest star they have signed recently joining former Ohio State stars Marvin Harrison Jr., and Chase Young. Not only that, they have stars like tennis' Coco Gauff, baseball's Shohei Ohtani, and basketball players like Kawhi Leonard, Cooper Flagg and Cameron Brink. It's an elite group of athletes that Love will be joining, as the release stated they were interested in Love due to his 'rare combination of athleticism, intelligence, and heart to everything he does,' said Naveen Lokesh, Head of Global Sports Marketing for American Football and Basketball. It's fairly unique for a college player to having signed with a shoe company before they have left to the professional ranks, and it goes to show you that Love is one of the future faces of the game. Congratulations to Jeremiyah and New Balance on their new partnership. Also, check out our exclusive interview with Love as his discusses the NIL deal, the College Football Playoff, how he started jumping over opponents and more. Magic Johnson thinks Coen Carr can be the best player in the country if he adds one thing

This past NCAA Tournament, Coen Carr seized a spot in the Michigan State basketball starting lineup with some undeniable play on both ends of the court. You could even argue that he was the Spartans' best player in their run to the Elite 8, playing strong defense and shattering rims in transition. We've heard Tom Izzo praise Carr's development this offseason, which kicked off a hype train for the junior forward, now, Magic Johnson is adding even more fuel to that fire, saying that he believes Carr can be 'the best player in the nation' if he can add one thing to his game. In a recent interview with Ian Kress of WLNS, Magic Johnson said Carr can make that leap to being an All-American level player if he can just add a consistent mid-range jumper to his toolkit. Johnson would go on to say that he thinks that Carr isn't just the best dunker in college basketball, but he actually might be one of the best dunkers in the world, period, rivaling NBA stars like Anthony Edwards.
