Travis Kelce Says Tough Super Bowl Loss Is a 'Hard Reality' as He Apologizes to Kansas City Chiefs Fans
Travis Kelce is opening up about his Super Bowl defeat.
During the latest episode of his New Heights with Jason & Travis Kelce podcast, released Wednesday, Feb. 12, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end reflected on his brutal 40-22 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles on Feb. 9.
"It just wasn't our day," Travis, 35, told his brother Jason Kelce, 37. "I couldn't find a lick of momentum. I'm kicking myself for some of the tiny, tiny decisions I made on the field."
He continued, "I wasn't the best leader that I could be in motivating my guys and keeping my guys calm, cool, collected.
"I put a lot of that on myself as the guy that's been in the building for 12 years and seen a lot of football and actually seen a situation just like this in the Super Bowl," he said.
Travis added, "It's a tough pill to swallow. It's a hard reality, man. I love my teammates, I love my coaches. Chiefs Kingdom, I'm sorry for how it ended."

Travis was able to find a silver lining, though: "I have a beautiful life. I have loved ones, I have the most amazing family in the world that supports me in everything that I do. They were all there, cheering me on and hoping for the best on Sunday."
Travis went on to say that he wishes "things would have been different," adding that he had hoped he could have helped team quarterback Patrick Mahomes more and "help my team find that momentum or that confidence."
"But I just have to tip my hat to the Eagles," Travis said of his brother's former team.
Trying to encourage his brother, Jason gushed about Travis being "one of the best players to play the NFL" with multiple records, adding, "I know you probably don't care that much about it now."
"That's the last thing I care about right now," Travis agreed.
"I know but you will and it's dope. Just here to tell you," Jason replied.
During Sunday's game, Travis made his first catch in the third quarter for eight yards. CBS Sports noted that the athlete has had at least 90 catches in seven seasons in a row — so going catch-less in a first half is rare for Travis.

The Chiefs have previously won four Super Bowls, earning their first against the Minnesota Vikings in 1970. Since drafting Mahomes in 2017, the Missouri-based team has won three more titles in 2020, 2023 and 2024. Travis was also on the Chiefs for those victories. If they won the 2025 game, it would be their fifth Super Bowl win and a history-making "three-peat."
As well as his family, Travis' girlfriend Taylor Swift was in attendance to support him at Sunday's big game.
Swift, 35, who wore a white Saint Laurent blazer, bedazzled shorts by Monday Denim and knee-high Paris Texas boots to the game, was photographed looking stressed prior to halftime.
Per a post shared to X by Fox Sports, the 'I Can Do This With a Broken Heart' singer was seen with her eyes widened, gripping the railing as she stood next to pal, Alana Haim.

Browns rival Bengals cuts linebacker Germaine Pratt after six seasons
The Cleveland Browns may no longer have to see linebacker Germaine Pratt twice per year as the Cincinnati Bengals have moved on from their former starting linebacker. A former third round pick of the Bengals in 2019, Pratt went on to start 88 total games in Cincinnati. He was a member of the Bengals' 2021 squad that took down the Kansas City Chiefs to earn a spot in the Super Bowl before coming up just short in a loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Advertisement Throughout his six-year career, Pratt has amassed 355 solo tackles, 32 tackles for loss, seven forced fumbles, and seven interceptions. This output earned him a starting role extremely fast, pairing up with Logan Wilson in Year 2 as the full-time starter after even starting nine games as a rookie. It even earned him a second contract with the team, signing a three-year contract extension in 2023 worth $20.25 million in total and earning him $7 million in guaranteed money. Pratt was in the last year of that deal as he now hits the free agency market. The Bengals will see a $5.85 million cap saving after the move while opting to eat $2.33 million in dead money as a result. He now hits the free agency market at the age of 29, looking for a new home. Could the Browns be a landing spot as Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah remains sidelined for the entirety of the 2025 season? There's only one Jordon Hudson confidant willing to talk about her — here's what he said
There have been many descriptors added to Jordon Hudson's name over the past 12 months as her relationship with Bill Belichick has come under intense scrutiny. For the lone Hudson confidant who has spoken publicly about the former college cheerleader, one label transcends new heights. 'I consider her a supernova,' celebrity hairstylist Dougie Freeman, who likened his one-time employee to the phenomenon described by NASA as the 'extremely bright, super powerful explosion of a star,' said in a new interview with The Athletic. Advertisement Hudson, who shot to fame in the summer of 2024 when her romance with the 73-year-old Belichick became public, began working at Freeman's West End Salon & Spa in Provincetown, Mass., when she was still in high school. 5 Dougie Freeman worked with Jordon Hudson. Facebook/West End Salon and Spa Freeman believes the Massachusetts town, regarded as one of the most welcoming and friendly LGBTQ+ locales in the country, helped to broaden Hudson's horizons. 'Growing up in this town, she saw how alternative relationships work. They can work,' Freeman said. 'I think that validated it for her.' WireImage 'She seems to be doing fine,' said Freeman, who 'last spoke to Hudson via a series of internet DMs,' per The Athletic. 'She said, 'I understand you're going to do an interview with the Washington Post.' And I said, 'I said a lot of nice things about you, I think you'll be pleased with it.' And I assume she was.' Getty Images Although there has been much speculation about Hudson's role in Chapel Hill — much of which began after a disastrous 'CBS Sunday Morning' appearance in April, when she punted a question about the origins of the Belichick relationship — the eight-time Super Bowl winner clarified her position in an ESPN interview last month. 'That's really off to the side, it's a personal relationship. She doesn't have anything to do with UNC football,' Belichick said. With the Tar Heels' season opener against TCU approaching on Sept. 1, all eyes remain on Belichick and Hudson — something Freeman cautioned as her star continues to rise. 'Fame comes with some barbs,' he said. 'And it doesn't always come with fortune.' Hudson and Belichick first crossed paths aboard a flight in 2021. They celebrated their four-year meet-iversary in February.

A.J. Brown says he's hungry for more after seeing his banner get displayed at The Linc
A.J. Brown says he's hungry for more after seeing his banner get displayed at The Linc Philadelphia All-Pro WR A.J. Brown expresses his hunger for more after the Eagles displayed his banner on the side of Lincoln Financial Field. A.J. Brown didn't rest on his laurels after winning Super Bowl 59. He chose to get right back into the gym and take his skills to another level as the Birds look to repeat as Champions. Brown recently traveled to the most "dangerous gym in America" to test his mind, body, and spirit. Brown is taking things to another level, and that means taking second-year wide receiver Ainias Smith under his wing. Recently, Brown and Smith ran the steps at Lincoln Financial Field, followed by Brown giving the versatile pass catcher from Texas A&M advice on "visualizing your goals' and "manifesting your success." Brown's words are powerful and can resonate with anyone regardless of what phase of life you're currently embarking on. While talking to Smith, Brown told the second-year wide receiver that seeing himself up on a fresh, new banner outside the stadium has left him hungry for more. Brown is having a great off-season, and in Pro Football Focus's ranking of the top 32 NFL wide receivers, landed the top spot, with DeVonta Smith in the top 20. Despite missing three games due to injury, A.J. Brown led the team with 1,079 receiving yards. He also ranked 1st in receiving average (16.1) (min. 60 catches) and 3rd in receiving yards per game (83.0) (min. 13 games), behind Ja'Marr Chase (100.5) and Justin Jefferson (90.2). Smith posted a career-high 8 TDs in the regular season and hauled in a 46-yard TD in Super Bowl LIX. During the run to the Super Bowl, he became the franchise's all-time leader in postseason receiving yards (595).
