Leighton Meester Gave A Candid Update On Her And Adam Brody's Rarely-Seen Children, And They're Literally The Sweetest

Buzz Feed28-02-2025
Leighton Meester and Adam Brody may keep their family life super private, but it seems like their kids are well aware of their parents' glamorous jobs.
In case you didn't know, Leighton and Adam — who have been married since 2014 — share two kids: a 9-year-old daughter named Arlo and a 4-year-old son whose name they haven't shared.
In a recent episode of Vogue's Beauty Secrets, Leighton shared some of her makeup tricks — as well as a couple of super rare sneak peeks into her home life.
While going through her skincare routine, she revealed that the snail mucin she uses is pretty popular in her household. 'Adam gets into the mucin,' she said, referring to her husband of over a decade. 'We're a mucin family.'
And while she and Adam have kept their kids' lives far away from the public eye, Leighton also opened up about what her two children think about their parents' lives as stars in Hollywood.
'My kids, they get what we do,' the Gossip Girl star said. 'They come on location a lot.'
'I don't think they're fazed at all,' Leighton continued. 'They get a lot of us off set and a lot of us not working, which has always been a really big benefit for both of us.'
Leighton's recent comments come years after she offered more rare insight into her family life. Speaking with Cosmopolitan in 2022, the actor recalled being able to easily slip into character for her movie The Weekend Away — which is about a new mom taking her first trip after having a baby — thanks to how closely she related to the character.
"When I got the script breakdown, it was like a 35-year-old with a 10-month-old, and I was like, 'That is exactly me,'" she said.
"The element of being away from your child is very different from when you're with your child. At least for me," she added.

Emma Stone Says Working With Ex-Boyfriend Andrew Garfield Was a 'Special Time'

THE RUNDOWN On Thursday, Emma Stone offered some rare comments on her former relationship with actor Andrew Garfield, who she met on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man. The pair dated for about four years beginning in 2011 and seemingly remain good friends. Stone shared insight into their connection during her Vogue's Life in Looks interview, looking at former ensembles and reflecting on where she was in life during that time. In the Spider-Man films, Stone played Gwen Stacy, the love interest of Garfield's character, Peter Parker, otherwise known as Spider-Man. One photo presented to Stone was from the 2014 London premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, in which she is wearing a bright yellow Versace dress. After seeing the outfit, Stone said, 'I mean, I really loved doing Spider-Man. I loved everyone I worked with. I met Andrew there. I met Sally Field and Marc Webb was wonderful. It was really a special time in my life.' She continued, 'The recurring theme is the people, more than kind of like the film itself, is what sticks with me for so long. And so I have only like the fondest memories of this whole experience.' She did add that the press tours were not her favorite part of doing the movies. 'I don't really know how people do it,' she said. 'I remember it being like nine countries in maybe two weeks, and you're functioning in a state of jet lag never previously known to you. I felt truly psychotic the entire time.' Garfield has also talked warmly about Stone and his time as Spider-Man, telling Variety in 2021, 'It was only beautiful. I got to meet Emma [Stone] and work with her and Sally Field.' In Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast in 2022, Garfield also talked about how Stone guessed he would make a surprise appearance in the Tom Holland-led film, Spider-Man: No Way Home. 'Emma kept on texting me. She was like, 'Are you in this new 'Spider-Man' film?' And I was like, 'I don't know what you're talking about!' Garfield claimed. 'She was like, 'Shut up, just tell me,' And like, I honestly… I kept it going, even with her, it's hilarious. And then she saw it and was like, 'You're a jerk!'' Garfield is currently dating Monica Barbaro and Stone went on to marry husband Dave McCary.

Quentin Tarantino finally reveals why he ‘pulled the plug' on ‘The Movie Critic' as his 10th and final film

Been there, done that. Director Quentin Tarantino, 62, has finally revealed why he decided to scrap 'The Movie Critic' as his 10th and final film. 'No one's waiting for this thing, per se,' the famous filmmaker began on Friday's episode of 'The Church of Tarantino' podcast. 'I mean, I can do it whenever I want. I mean, it's already written. So okay, let me just not start it right now.' 7 Quentin Tarantino at the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival at Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, on May 17, 2025. FilmMagic 'Let me try writing it as a movie, and let me see if it's better that way. And I was like, 'Oh, okay, no, I think this is going to be the movie.' And then it wasn't,' he continued. 'I pulled the plug on it. And the reason I pulled the plug is a little crazy.' 'The Movie Critic,' which the 'Pulp Fiction' director announced in March 2023, started as an eight-part series before Tarantino reworked the script into a feature-length film. However, in April 2024, it was revealed that the 'Kill Bill' filmmaker had abandoned the movie for a different project. 7 Quentin Tarantino at the Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France, on May 13, 2025. AFP via Getty Images 'But there was a challenge that I gave to myself when I did it,' Tarantino continued. 'Can I take the most boring profession in the world and make it an interesting movie?' 'Every Tarantino title promises so much, except 'The Movie Critic,'' he explained. 'Who wants to see a TV show about a f–king movie critic? Who wants to see a movie called 'The Movie Critic'? If I can actually make a movie or a TV show about somebody who watches movies interesting, that is an accomplishment.' 7 Quentin Tarantino at the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival at Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, on May 17, 2025. AFP via Getty Images Tarantino also dispelled 'bulls–t' rumors that 'The Movie Critic' was a direct sequel to 2019's 'Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood,' which starred Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie in the leading roles. 'It's a spiritual sequel to 'Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood' insofar as they take place in the same world and they take place in the same town,' he clarified. 'But there were no crossover characters. Cliff Booth was never in 'The Movie Critic.' That's all a bunch of bulls–t. That never was the case ever, ever, ever.' 7 Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio in 2019's 'Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.' ©Columbia Pictures/courtesy Everett Co / Everett Collection Before scrapping it for a different mystery project last year, Tarantino revealed that 'The Movie Critic' was set in 1977 California and 'based on a guy who really lived but was never really famous, and he used to write movie reviews for a porno rag.' But unlike his eight other movies, and despite not being a direct sequel, Tarantino admitted that 'The Movie Critic' would have been too similar to 'Once Upon a Time…' 7 Quentin Tarantino in Los Angeles, California, on Aug. 1, 2025. SL, Terma / BACKGRID 'I wasn't really excited about dramatizing what I wrote when I was in pre-production, partly because I'm using the skillset that I learned from 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' of 'How are we going to turn Los Angeles into the Hollywood of 1969 without using CGI?'' he explained. 'It was something we had to pull off. We had to achieve it. It wasn't for sure that we could do it,' Tarantino added. ''The Movie Critic,' there was nothing to figure out. I already kind of knew, more or less, how to turn L.A. into an older time. It was too much like the last one.' 7 Quentin Tarantino at the Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France, on May 13, 2025. 'The Adventures of Cliff Booth,' which sees Brad Pitt reprise his 'Once Upon a Time…' character, is being directed by David Fincher. 7 Brad Pitt as Cliff Booth in 'Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.' ©Columbia Pictures/courtesy Everett Co / Everett Collection Tarantino ended the podcast by insisting that he is not worried about releasing his 10th and allegedly final film – and that fans shouldn't be worried either. 'It's a little crazy to listen to podcasts and hear all these amateur psychiatrists psychoanalyze as if they f–king know what they're talking about about what's going on with me, about how I'm so scared, alright, of my 10th film,' Tarantino said. ''Oh my god! Oh my god! I'm so fragile about my legacy. What's going on? I'm paralyzed with fear!,'' he concluded. 'I'm not paralyzed with fear. Trust me.'

I loved everyone I worked with. I met Andrew there. I met Sally Field and Marc Webb was wonderful. It was really a special time in my life," the two-time Oscar winner said.
