K-P government saves over Rs111 billion
Figures released by the federal government reveal that K-P received Rs1,031.26 billion in total financial resources over the nine-month period. Of this amount, Rs824.86 billion came from the federal government under the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award.
In addition, the province generated Rs46.20 billion through its own tax revenues and Rs40.17 billion from non-tax sources.
The federal government also provided Rs120 billion in loans and grants, including Rs38.58 billion in loans, Rs54.99 billion in current grants, and Rs26.43 billion in development grants.
During this period, the K-P government spent a total of Rs919.95 billion. Of this, Rs759.56 billion was allocated to current expenditures, while Rs13.75 billion was paid to the federal government for debt servicing (markup payments).
Furthermore, the federal government spent Rs147 billion on development projects in K-P under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP).
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has taken serious notice of alleged irregularities in the recent screening test for school teacher recruitment conducted by the Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA). He has directed the Chief Secretary to initiate a high-level inquiry into the matter.
A formal letter from the Chief Minister's Secretariat expressed deep concern over reports of misconduct and a potential paper leak during the test held in Bannu on May 10.
Initial findings revealed that several individuals were apprehended at a private guesthouse while the exam was still in progress. They were allegedly found in possession of test papers, bubble sheets, laptops, and scanning machinesraising serious questions about the integrity of the examination process.
The Chief Minister termed the reported irregularities a grave violation of merit and transparency. He instructed that a senior officeror a committee of officersbe appointed to conduct a thorough investigation, identify those responsible, and recommend strict disciplinary action.
"ETEA is currently overseeing teacher recruitment examinations across the province. Any malpractice not only jeopardizes the future of candidates but also erodes public trust in the system," the letter stated.
The Chief Minister further directed that the inquiry should not only address the immediate incident but also assess systemic vulnerabilities within ETEA's operations. Legal and administrative action has been urged against any individuals or institutions found guilty of misconduct or negligence.
Additionally, the Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education has been instructed to review examination arrangements across all districts, ensure robust monitoring, and improve coordination between local administrations and ETEA staff.
A comprehensive report on the incident has been demanded within 15 days.

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Saturday said that the federal government and provincial chief ministers have assured full cooperation in the wake of devastating cloudbursts and floods that struck several districts of the province. He said the provincial government is deploying all resources for relief, and expressed sorrow over the helicopter crash in Bajaur, which was carrying aid supplies for flood victims. "I am personally supervising all operations, while the chief secretary and the entire administration are closely monitoring the situation. Wherever support is needed, it will be provided without delay," he assured. Gandapur said that over Rs3 billion have already been released for relief and rehabilitation efforts, and more funds will be issued as required. Meanwhile, Chief Minister chaired an emergency meeting to review the devastation caused by cloudbursts, heavy rains, and flash floods across the province. The meeting, attended by the Chief Secretary, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, senior officials, and representatives of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), also offered prayers for officials who lost their lives in a helicopter crash in Bajaur during relief duties. Officials briefed the CM that 309 people have died and 23 others sustained injuries in various rain and flood-related incidents. Sixty-three houses were partially damaged, while assessments of losses to roads and infrastructure continue. Rescue efforts are largely complete, and relief and rehabilitation have begun.

CM Gandapur releases Rs3b for flood relief in K-P
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government has released Rs3 billion for flood rescue and relief operations following widespread destruction caused by heavy rains and flash floods. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur left Dera Ismail Khan to visit flood-affected areas, where he is expected to meet families and review relief efforts, Express News reported. At a high-level meeting in Peshawar, attended by the chief secretary, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, and PDMA officials, authorities reported that at leas 308 people have lost their lives so far, with 23 injured. The government has allocated Rs1.5 billion to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and Rs1.5 billion to the communications department for rehabilitation. Additionally, Rs500 million has been provided to deputy commissioners for compensation to victims' families. Medical teams, food supplies, and medicines have been dispatched, while helicopters and rescue teams are engaged in relocating people and restoring access roads. Authorities have declared a flood and health emergency across the province, with operations continuing in coordination with federal government and military support but led by the civil administration. CM Gandapur directed that road links be restored urgently, and helicopter services arranged where necessary. He ordered compensation payments within two days and ensured uninterrupted food supplies.

Gold price per tola sheds Rs900 in Pakistan
Gold prices in Pakistan decreased on Saturday in line with their loss in the international market. In the local market, gold price per tola reached Rs356,200 after a decline of Rs900 during the day. As per the rates shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), 10-gram gold was sold at Rs305,384 after it lost Rs771. On Friday, gold price per tola reached Rs357,100 after a decline of Rs1,000 during the day. The international rate of gold also saw a decrease today. The rate was at $3,335 per ounce (with a premium of $20), a loss of $9, as per APGJSA. Meanwhile, silver price per tola reduced by Rs41 to clock in at Rs4,031.
