Andhra CM aims to ‘eliminate poverty' through P4 programme by 2029

Amaravati, July 4 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said his vision is to 'eliminate poverty' in the state by 2029 with his P4 — Public Private People Partnership programme.
The CM called for the formation of two central committees, a state level executive committee and an advisory committee, and also the establishment of P4 chapters at district and constituency levels.
By August 15, we aim to identify 1.5 million bangaru kutumbams (golden families, beneficiaries) and appoint one lakh margadarsis (guides, benefactors) under P4, he said.
These guides must support the beneficiaries continually, providing both initial aid and ongoing mentorship, Naidu said, adding that it is not enough to assist once, underscoring the need for committed mentors who stay engaged.
He called for the identification and onboarding of mentors under the P4 platform from industries, philanthropists and NRIs across constituencies who are already helping the poor in various ways.
Further, the TDP supremo highlighted that there will be no erosion of welfare programmes to P4 beneficiaries.
'There will be no overlap between welfare services and P4 support. While welfare benefits continue, additional financial assistance will be channelled via P4,' he added.

Punjab govt to introduce anti-sacrilege law in special Assembly session

For the first quarter of FY26, Punjab's net GST revenue reached ₹6,830.40 crore, up from ₹5,377.75 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Punjab approves ₹68 crore loan waiver for Dalit families Last month, the Punjab Cabinet approved a ₹68 crore loan waiver for over 4,000 Dalit families. The beneficiaries had taken loans from the Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation. The approval was granted during a cabinet meeting chaired by Mann in Chandigarh. The waiver will cover loans taken up to March 31, 2020. Addressing the media after the meeting, Mann said the move would benefit 4,727 families who had borrowed for various livelihood activities, including shop setups and dairy farming. Jagan claims collapse of law and order in Andhra, demands President's rule

'I don't know Marathi properly even after living for 30 years in Mumbai & with your gross misconduct I have made it a resolve that until such people as you are allowed to pretend to be taking care of Marathi Manus I take pratigya I won't learn Marathi. Kya karna hai bol?' Kedia posted on X. MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande responded, advising Kedia to focus on his business. 'Do business if you're a businessman; don't try to act like our father.
