Amazon renews Fallout months before season 2's premiere

Engadget13-05-2025
The second season of the Fallout TV series doesn't even have a concrete release date in December yet, but Amazon has already renewed the show for a third season. Amazon has announced that it has greenlit the new season at its annual presentation in New York City. The company said Fallout has had more than 100 million viewers since it dropped on Prime Video in April 2024 and remains one of its top-three most watched titles ever.
If you'll recall, the live adaptation was so well-received, Fallout 4 enjoyed a resurgence in sales nearly a decade after its release. Amazon also renewed the series for a second season just a few days after the first season debuted on its streaming service. Based on the video game franchise of the same name, Fallout is set 200 years into the future after an apocalyptic event. In the story, the humans who survived the apocalypse hid in luxury fallout shelters where their descendants remained for hundreds of years. The show follows Lucy as she leaves her shelter after an attack by outsiders to find her father who'd been kidnapped. Along the way, she meets more characters, including a squire from the Brotherhood of Steel and a ghoul bounty hunter.
Amazon has yet to reveal season 3's story, which doesn't come as a surprise, seeing as the second season has yet to drop. But season 2 will pick up from where the first one had left off and will take viewers from the Mojave wastelands to New Vegas.

Taylor Swift's Rumored Romance Confirmed Whether ‘Wildest Dreams' Is Really About Him: ‘I'm Going to Be Honest…'

It's one of the theories that left Swifties stumped. Alexander Skarsgård got real about the Taylor Swift song that everyone thinks is about him. The rumor resurfaced when Skarsgård appeared on Dax Shepard's podcast Armchair Expert. 'This one's gonna be tough for you,' Dax said, before diving into an explanation that he told his and Kristen Bell's kids that 'Wildest Dreams' was written for him. 'And then in my f—king research today, I read that the song's about you!' he said to the True Blood star.' I have to kill you! You can't exist because I told my children that song's about me. Like, maybe it is about you. I wasn't in the crowd in Lisbon. I wasn't there so it was clearly about you.' He also talked about how the intensity of Swift's fanbase affected him to not answer whether 'Wildest Dreams' was about him. However, he respects the singer and her fan base. 'Aren't we all? We're all Swifties,' Skarsgård said. Related: Taylor Swift's Ex-Boyfriends Are Incomparable to Travis Kelce—Take a Look at Her Long List of Ex-Lovers 'I'm going to be honest. I wrote the lyrics of that song myself,' the actor joked. ''Hey Taylor, here's what you should say!' A lot of people can be bad but can't do it well.' Swift and Skarsgård were speculated to be dating in 2013 when they both starred in the film The Giver. What added fuel to the fire on the rumor mill was when the Lover singer released the music video for 'Wildest Dreams.' In the video, Swift donned black hair like she did in her role of Rosemary in the film. The love interest in the video looked similar to Skarsgård, depending on who you're asking. However, the two never confirmed their romance. Shepard gushed and emphasized that 'the line' from the 1989 song was 'He's so bad, but he does it so well.' To which Skarsgård explained, 'A lot of people can be bad, but can you do it well? You cannot do it well.' Swift has written a lot of songs about her lovers like Joe Jonas ('Forever and Always') and Jake Gyllenhaal ('All Too Well'). A bulk of her songs from her recent album The Tortured Poets Department are about her romances with Joe Alwyn, Matty Healy, and her current beau Travis Kelce. Will we ever find the real subject of 'Wildest Dreams?' Time can only tell. 'Wolfenstein' TV series based on games in the works: 'The story of killing Nazis is evergreen'

What a logline! A Wolfenstein TV series based on the popular video games is coming our way, and even more eye-catching is the official logline that accompanies the news. Instead of a lengthy description of what the show will be, it simply states: "The story of killing Nazis is evergreen." (Truly, no notes.) Wolfenstein is a series of shooter games that depict an alternate history. They largely focus on the character of William "B.J." Blazkowicz, a U.S. solider during World War II who goes behind enemy lines and discovers that the Nazis are using bizarre experiments and the occult in an attempt to shift the war in their favor. The first game, Castle Wolfenstein, released in 1981. The most recent installments are 2019's Wolfenstein: Youngblood and the VR release Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot. Variety first reported the news of the TV adaption, which was confirmed by the involved parties on social media. Patrick Somerville of Station Eleven and Maniac is attached as the show's creator, writer, executive producer, and showrunner for Amazon MGM Studios. Also on board as EPs are Jonah Nolan, Lisa Joy, and Athena Wickham from Kilter Films, which produces Amazon's hit Fallout game-to-TV adaptation. On the gaming side, Jerk Gustafsson of Wolfenstein developer MachineGames will executive-produce alongside James Altman of Keyframe Films. A film version of Wolfenstein was previously announced back in 2012, though it never took off. It should also be noted that Amazon is fully leaning into adapting video games as high-profile series. After Fallout, the company also have its sights on Mass Effect, God of War, and Warhammer 40,000, the latter starring Henry Cavill. Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly
