PM Modi releases e-Coffee books, presents awards on Civil Services Day
Prime Minister Modi released e-Coffee Table Books on 'Holistic Development of Districts for Prime Minister's Awards for Excellence in Public Administration' and 'Select Innovations from Prime Minister's Awards for Excellence in Public Administration' on Monday.
The Prime Minister also conferred the Prime Minister's Awards for Excellence in Public Administration for effective implementation of identified priority programmes and innovation to districts and central and state governments.

A film on the Award-winning initiatives was also screened before the presentation of the Awards.
Jharkhand's Gamharia block in Seraikella Kharsawan district was awarded the Prime Minister's Award for excellence in Public Administration, 2024, in the category Aspirational Block Program.
Ravi Shankar Shukla, Deputy Commissioner, Seraikella-Kharsawan, received the Award for block Gamharia, which has secured first place among 500 aspirational blocks across the country.
Civil Services Day is an occasion for the Civil Servants across India to rededicate themselves to the cause of citizens and renew their commitment to public service and excellence in their work. This date was chosen to commemorate the day when Sardar Vallabhai Patel addressed the probationers of Administrative Service Officers in 1947 at Metcalfe House, Delhi.
To mark the Civil Services Day, the Government is organising a day-long Civil Services Day conference at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The Aspirational Block Program is a Niti Ayog initiative, which was launched on 7th January 2023, which focuses on improving the overall quality of life in 500 underdeveloped blocks of the country by accelerating socio- economic development through improved governance, service delivery and monitoring of key indicators in five focus areas namely Health and Nutrition, Education, Agriculture and Allied Services, Basic Infrastructure and Social Development.
The Scheme for Prime Minister's Awards for Excellence in Public Administration has been instituted to recognise the extraordinary and innovative work done by Districts and Organisations of the Central and State Governments for the welfare of the common citizen.

Mumbai Congress leader Varsha Gaikwad led a protest on Sunday (June 8, 2025) against handing over the Mother Dairy land parcel in Mumbai's Kurla to the Adani group for Dharavi Redevelopment Project Private Limited (DRPPL). She demanded to use the land for a botanical garden instead of a rehabilitation project, saying, 'Prime Minister Narendra Modi surrenders when American president Donald Trump calls, why CM Devender Fadnavis surrenders when Modi calls for Adani.' Former Minister Ms. Gaikwad alleged the BJP government is constantly ignoring the opposition of the locals and letting Adani swallow the whole of Mumbai during the protest. Kurla Mother Dairy houses hundred-year-old trees, locals are demanding a botanical garden to protect them, yet it is transferred to Adani for infrastructure purposes at a nominal rate,' she added. Days ago, the Maharashtra Cabinet's decision to transfer an 8.05-hectare Mother Dairy land parcel to the DRPPL triggered opposition from locals and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) leaders. Kurla Dairy is among the three dairies of Mumbai, where milk production stopped over the years, and the land was made available for other projects. Many Congress leaders and party functionaries, including MLA Jyoti Gaikwad, Congress spokesperson Suresh Chandra Rajhans, and Mumbai General Secretary Mahendra Mungekar, along with their supporters and activists, staged the peaceful protest in Kurla. Ms. Gaikwad said, 'While we were peacefully protesting, once again the Modani (Modi and Adani) government had sent a large police force to suppress the voice of the people. What justice is it that the police stopped the peaceful protest with the force of police force? The government is providing security to thieves, but we will not be swayed by this oppression. We will continue to fight against this Adani government for the rights of Mumbai.' She called the transfer of land a part of a 'conspiracy' wherein the plan is to destroy the lives of lakhs of Dharavikars and acquire 600 acres of land in Dharavi, along with Kurla Mother Dairy, saltpans, and Deonar dumping ground land. She alleged government will also seize land parcels in Air India Colony, Bandra Reclamation, Behrampada, and Motilal Nagar without taking the locals into confidence.

1 2 3 4 Aizawl: The state capital is set to join the national railway map with the Bairabi-Sairang rail line being operational by June or July due to the concerted efforts made by the Centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP's state executive member and vice-president of the party's Aizawl district K Vanlalruati said on Sunday. Vanlalruati informed TOI, "Progress accelerated after the NDA govt came to power in 2014 with Mizoram being first linked to the broad gauge network at Bairabi in 2016. Now, for the first time since Independence, Aizawl city will be in the Indian railway map." Operation of the railway service will mark a historic step for regional connectivity and the Sairang Railway Station is being modernised under the Amrit Bharat Scheme, she said. Spirit of mutual respect will guide India, Bangladesh to work for people's wellbeing: Yunus
The spirit of mutual respect and understanding will continue to guide India and Bangladesh in working for people's welfare, Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has said in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mr Yunus's letter was a response to Mr Modi's message conveying Eid-ul-Adha greetings to Bangladeshi people and the interim chief adviser. Mr Yunus posted both letters in an X post on Sunday (June 8, 2025). — Chief Adviser of the Government of Bangladesh (@ChiefAdviserGoB) June 8, 2025 In his letter, he said that Mr Modi's "thoughtful" message "reflects the shared values" between the two countries.
