WWDC 2025: Apple Just Unveiled Video Countdown And How To Watch

Forbes4 days ago

If you're planning to tune in to Apple's World Wide Developers Conference for its keynote next week, you need to know the time and where you can see it. Apple has just launched a page on its YouTube channel so you don't miss a thing. Expected are details of new software for the iPhone (iOS 26, not iOS 19 as you might have thought), iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV and Apple Vision Pro.
This year's WWDC is almost here.
This year's WWDC runs from Monday, June 9 to Friday, June 13. But unless you're a developer, the bit you need takes place on June 9 at 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m. Eastern and 6 p.m. U.K. time.
Assuming it follows the same format that it did last year this means a pre-recorded movie, likely with high production values, special effects and a smattering of jokes, will be introduced by CEO Tim Cook in person, standing in front of a mammoth screen in the heart of Apple Park, the company's headquarters in Cupertino, California.
Don't worry, you don't have to go there to see it. That's reserved for an audience of about 1,000 developers, students and press who have been invited to sit in the sunshine by Café Macs, in Apple's spaceship-like building.
For the rest of us, Apple will broadcast the keynote to be watched online. You can go to apple.com, the Apple TV app or YouTube.
Since June 2020, Apple has broadcast the keynote on YouTube — here's the link for this year.
The link has only just gone live and right now, it shows the name of the event in pleasantly rainbow-like letters with a box showing how many days until the keynote starts, with the start given in the local time according to where you've logged in from. In the image above, you'll see it shows the U.K. time of 18.00.
The words below explain you can, 'get a sleek peek at what's to come this WWDC,' and invites you to 'set a reminder, turn on your notifications, and we'll send you an update before the keynote begins.'
There's a lot coming, from a redesigned software across all platforms, to new features. Read all about what's expected here.

The Long-Awaited ‘Mass Effect' Show Has a Showrunner Now

Prime Video's upcoming Mass Effect show is progressing slowly, but surely. On Friday, Deadline revealed the live-action series gained Doug Jung as its showrunner. Jung, who most may remember as the co-writer for 2016's Star Trek Beyond, recently ended a showrunner/executive producer stint for Apple TV+'s Chief of War. He'll be working alongside writer Dan Casey, and both will EP for the series alongside franchise producer Mike Gamble. As Deadline notes, this is a 'major step forward' in the show's development, which was first teased all the way back in 2021, then had its existence reaffirmed back in 2024. To date, Prime Video's kept mum on what exactly Casey's pitch was for the Mass Effect show. Among fans, the general thinking is that it'll just adapt the initial trilogy of Commander Shepard gathering allies to fight the Reapers. (This also seemed to be the plan when a movie seemed likely back in 2007 after the first game came out.) But shows like Castlevania and Prime Video's own Fallout have taken a different approach that tells an original story inside the worlds of those series. (Fallout in particular carries itself like a Fallout 5 we're getting to watch but not play.) Others, like Tomb Raider and Dragon Age, continued (or hoped to) the stories of the games they're based on. There's certainly different routes for the Mass Effect series to take, and we'll be interested to learn Jung and Casey's approach in due time.

Andrew Barth Feldman's Muppet*Vision 3D tribute is absolutely wonderful

Andrew Barth Feldman's Muppet*Vision 3D tribute is absolutely wonderful Since nothing lasts forever and the cruel specter of time claims all things sacred, Disney's Hollywood Studio will shut the doors to Muppet*Vision 3D after Saturday. After more than 30 years of "state-of-the-art" 3D effects and saluting all nations (but mostly America), Muppets maestro Jim Henson's last true masterwork will eventually be replaced with a Monsters, Inc. section of the park and plays its last show this weekend. While the attraction never got the consistent attention of, say, a roller coaster or a landmark dark ride, it's still one of the best experiences Disney Parks ever crafted. It's a testament to Henson's genius that it never lost its zeal in the decades since its opening, and there really wasn't ever anything quite like it to watch in a theater. Last year, I wrote that Muppet*Vision 3D is "a timeless piece of Disney history that should stand for as long as the theme park surrounding it stands, and closing it would feel completely antithetical to the way Disney treats its other classic attractions, with deep reverence and keen understanding of how awful it would be to snuff out that corner of irreplaceable Disney magic forever." Well, Disney Parks clearly didn't read that or, y'know, care, because the attraction is headed to the big theme park in the sky after Saturday's final shows. To help all of us cope with such a colossal loss, actor Andrew Barth Feldman crafted an absolutely brilliant tribute to the Muppets attraction that we know Kermit and the gang would be proud to watch. Seriously, this is just wonderful. Feldman teaming up with Defunctland's Kevin Perjurer to send off Muppet*Vision 3D with a hysterical bang is just the best way any of this could go We're going to miss Henson's great attraction like all get out, but we will fire this up whenever we need a smile... and the YouTube bootleg footage of the attraction itself, which you can watch below as many times as you'd like. RIP Muppet*Vision 3D. We will miss you, your cannon fire, your cranky old men in the balcony, your penguin symphony and your floating cream pies. Sweetums forever.
