Triumph Thruxton 400 Launched In India, Price Starts At Rs 2.74 Lakh
The Thruxton 400 gets a distinctive café racer-style semi-fairing, teardrop fuel tank, slim rear fender, and a redesigned tail-light setup.
Triumph has launched the much-awaited Thruxton 400 in India at Rs 2.74 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
This new café racer sits at the top of Triumph's 400cc range, above the Scrambler 400 X, and is being hailed as the most stylish model in the segment.
How Is It Different from the Speed 400?
The Thruxton 400 isn't just about looks. Triumph has made several functional and mechanical changes over the Speed 400 to match its sportier image.
The rear sub-frame has been reworked.
Clip-on handlebars and repositioned footpegs now offer a more aggressive riding posture.
A wide, reprofiled seat and a café racer-style semi-fairing add to the overall aesthetic and rider comfort.
Also, a seat cowl and redesigned tail section with a slimmer fender make it look sleeker and racier.
What's Under the Tank?
The Thruxton 400 is powered by the same 398cc TR-series liquid-cooled engine, but here's the twist – it gets a new camshaft that helps it deliver a higher 41.5bhp at 9,000rpm and 37.5Nm at 7,500rpm. That's 2bhp more than the Speed 400.
Triumph has tweaked the suspension setup to offer a sharper, more engaging ride.
Color Options
The Thruxton 400 is available in four colours: Lava Red Gloss, Pearl Metallic White, Phantom Black, and Metallic Racing Yellow.

4-lane road to ease traffic from Sampatchak to Parsa
Patna: The state capital is set for a major infrastructure boost with the widening of the two-lane road from Sampatchak Bazar to Parsa Bazar into a four-lane carriageway, a move aimed at easing daily traffic congestion and improving connectivity in the southern parts of the city. The proposed stretch, approximately 6.415km long, will be developed at an estimated cost of around Rs 70 crore. At present, the route operates as a two-lane road, often choked with traffic and causing significant delays for thousands of commuters. According to officials, the road construction department (RCD) is currently in the bidding process to select the construction agency for the project. An RCD official said, "The expansion of the old road to four lanes is expected to benefit nearly one lakh residents directly, providing them with a smoother and faster travel experience. This new road will connect Sampatchak Bazar to the Patna-Masaurhi State Highway-1 and further link Parsa Bazar to the old NH-83 (Patna–Gaya route). It will also integrate with the under-construction road between Mithapur-Sipara-Mahuli and Punpun, facilitating smooth connectivity within and outside the city. " The project also aims to address the chronic problem of waterlogging during the monsoon season. To tackle this, the design includes RCC box culverts for effective drainage. At present, the absence of a proper drainage system leads to frequent water accumulation, disrupting traffic flow. The new system is expected to provide a permanent solution. "The areas surrounding the Sampatchak to Parsa Bazar stretch are densely populated and the existing two-lane road struggles to accommodate the heavy traffic," the official added. "The new four-lane road will not only ease traffic congestion but also improve connectivity for these localities. Upon completion, the road will offer an alternative and faster route for Patna residents travelling towards Gaya and Masaurhi," he said. Once complete, the upgraded road will improve access from Mithapur through Sipara-Mahuli to Punpun and further on to Gaya and Masaurhi. It will also provide substantial relief to residents living near the southern bypass. Officials said the scheme was crucial not just for easing congestion but also for boosting the local economy, improving travel efficiency and resolving seasonal flooding issues. When operational, the four-lane road is expected to transform the commuting experience for Patna residents, offering a reliable, faster and more convenient route. In a first, electric 2-wheelerregistrations decline in Karnataka
Bengaluru: For the first time, Karnataka has recorded a decline in electric two-wheeler registrations. In 2024–25, more than 1.3 lakh e-scooters and bikes were registered — down from more than 1.4 lakh in 2023–24. This dip comes despite zero registration tax on e-two-wheelers and increasing options in the market. In total, more than 12.9 lakh two-wheelers, both electric and petrol, were registered in the state during the year. On average, 3,170 petrol-powered two-wheelers were registered each day, compared to just 370 electric ones. Transport department officials attribute the decline to limited fast-charging infrastructure. "Short-distance urban commuters prefer e-scooters, and we have seen consistent growth. But with slow home charging and few fast-charging options, interest seems to have dipped," a senior official said. "I feel nervous using it in the rain or on bad roads," he added. E-cars & autos grow Even as electric two-wheeler registrations slowed, electric cars continued to rise — from 10,299 in 2023–24 to 12,191 in 2024–25. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like I am closing my jewelry shop forever... Sheryl Duncan Shop Now Undo The state had only 186 registered e-cars in 2019–20, crossing the 10,000 mark for the first time last year. While buyers earlier benefited from a lifetime road tax exemption, a 10% tax was introduced in March 2024 for e-cars priced above Rs 25 lakh. E-autos also saw a sharp increase. From just 68 in 2019–20, registrations crossed 5,000 in 2024–25. Exemption from permit requirements encouraged growth, especially among aggregators and individual drivers. However, the state has now made permits mandatory for all new and existing e-autos. The state's push for public transport electrification has led to growth in e-bus registrations. From just two in 2020–21, the number rose to 731 in 2024–25. The transition is driven by state-run road transport corporations under the electric mobility policy. Despite the current setback in the two-wheeler segment, officials believe improved infrastructure and awareness will help revive interest. "As fast-charging networks expand and confidence grows, numbers are likely to bounce back," a transport official said. —--- Discounts scaled back: Expert An industry expert said the two-wheeler market "remains stagnant, and within it, the EV segment has also seen a slight decline." A major manufacturer that once offered heavy discounts to improve market share scaled them back last year to focus on profitability, he said. "Two other leading players also reduced their discount-led strategies," the expert added. Reduced subsidies have further dented sales. "Buyers earlier benefited from substantial incentives, but these have been cut sharply, leading to a drop in volumes," he said. Charging infrastructure gaps persist, especially the lack of standardised connectors. While Bengaluru faces fewer issues due to higher EV awareness, less mature markets struggle. Most city users plan their travel and charge at home, he said. New models at varied price points and the festive season could boost sentiment and bring an uptick in demand, the expert said. Hyderabad Metro's most advanced parking system set to be thrown open
Hyderabad Metro Rail's fully automated and most advanced puzzle parking system, claimed to be the first-of-its-kind in the country, is set to be opened soon, officials said on Sunday. Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) is giving final touches to the project, based on Germany's based Palis system, 'Palis' technology for a fully automated puzzle parking system. There is no human intervention as user can leave the car on the turntable and the system will automatically park it as per size of the car on any of the 10 parking floors, HMRL Managing Director NVS Reddy said on Sunday. Constructed at Nampally in the heart of the city, it's a 15-floor complex with 10 floors for parking and five floors for commercial use, including two state-of-the-art movie screens. It is the fifth such system globally and the first in India. It can accommodate 250 cars and 200 two-wheelers. HMRL has developed this project at a cost of Rs 102 crore in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode in partnership with Novum, a company owned by tech entrepreneur Harikishen Reddy and his wife Bhavana Reddy. This highly sophisticated parking project is likely to usher in parking revolution in Hyderabad and India, said NVS Reddy after a visit. Constructed on 2,000 square yards of HMRL land under a 50-year concession, the project, the facility will be made available to the public soon after receiving final approvals from various government departments. He said that following the directive of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to implement this as a world-class project, the complex is being made highly attractive. The complex comprises 15 floors, including three basements and seven upper floors, making up 10 dedicated parking levels. In addition, five floors have been allocated for commercial activities to make this project commercially viable. The complex also houses two well-equipped cinema theatres and a city-viewing gallery on the 11th floor. The automated puzzle parking system operates entirely via sensors with zero human intervention. It automatically categorises vehicles -- SUVs, sedans, and small cars -- and parks them on designated floors. Unlike mechanical parking systems in Delhi and Mumbai, this system works without pallets, making parking smoother and more efficient. The entry and exit terminals are spacious and smart, with flat turn-tables that cater to the needs of elderly individuals, women, and differently-abled users. Vehicles can be left on the turntable at any angle, and the turntable rotates 360 degrees to position them correctly, NVS Reddy added. The user experience is designed to be seamless and innovative. Upon arrival, users receive an entry ticket with a QR code (smart card) that guides them to the terminal. Swiping the card at the terminal gate opens the gate. The user then keeps the car on the turntable, applies the handbrake, turns off the engine, and exits. Swiping the card outside initiates the parking process. The system scans the vehicle, classifies it, and parks it on its own accordingly. To retrieve the vehicle, the user pays the fee at the counter, swipes the card at the I/O terminal, and the vehicle returns to the user from the parking platform.
