Strengthening transparency, institutional accountability, and sustainability practices across the UAE private sector In line with its ongoing efforts to promote transparency and institutionalize responsible corporate practices
Majra– National CSR Fund announced that nearly 300 companies have successfully completed the mandatory Impact Declaration through the Sustainable Impact Digital Portal. This milestone marks a significant step in embedding sustainability and governance principles across the private sector and represents the first phase in the process of applying for the Impact Seal, a federal recognition for companies demonstrating measurable contributions to the UAE's sustainable development.
The Impact Declaration serves as a unified federal tool to assess a company's disclosure of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) efforts, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices, and actual contributions to the UAE community—be it financial, in-kind, or volunteer-based.
Commenting on this development, Sarah Shaw, CEO of Majra, noted that the increasing engagement with the Impact Declaration and applications for the Impact Seal reflect a growing institutional commitment within the private sector toward transparency and measurable action. She stated, 'At Majra, we are building a nationwide institutional environment grounded in documentation, impact measurement, and results-driven partnerships. Through the Sustainable Impact Digital Portal, we empower companies to transform their commitments into measurable contributions that serve society and advance the UAE's vision for sustainable corporate responsibility.'
In parallel with this growing participation, Majra received approximately 160 applications for the second cycle of the Impact Seal through the digital portal. The applications included around 100 from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
and 60 from large corporates—demonstrating increased interest from all economic sectors in formalizing their impact and enhancing institutional competitiveness.
The Impact Seal is awarded across two official categories: one for large companies and a newly introduced category dedicated to SMEs, aligned with the UAE's National SME Agenda. The Seal is granted in three tiers—Platinum, Gold, and Silver—based on the scope and depth of corporate impact and sustainability practices.
Launched in late 2024, the Sustainable Impact Digital Portal serves as an integrated national platform enabling companies to submit declarations and applications in a streamlined and unified manner. The portal also provides access to a suite of services offered by Majra, including the documentation and accreditation of CSR and sustainability projects, certified workshops, specialized studies, and capacity-building programs tailored to institutional needs. It ensures alignment with national priorities and global sustainability standards.
Obtaining the Impact Seal offers companies a comprehensive range of strategic and regulatory benefits. It represents official federal-level recognition for excellence in ESG, CSR, and sustainability, elevating corporate credibility and public image at both local and international levels. The Seal reinforces stakeholder and investor trust through a certified endorsement from a UAE government entity and grants companies' priority access to government-led initiatives, policy development circles, and high-level partnership opportunities. It also supports institutional branding through authorized promotional use of the Seal emblem and strengthens internal performance by enabling companies to review and improve their sustainability indicators and systems. All achievements are recorded and made visible through the portal, contributing to a transparent national repository of impact and facilitating integration into the wider sustainability ecosystem in the UAE.
This upward trend in corporate participation confirms the success of the federal impact measurement framework in fostering a culture of responsible business, enabling verified tracking of private sector contributions, and directing them toward national priorities in line with global ESG and sustainability benchmarks.

Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, today announced its Q2 2025 extra-financial results, marking a pivotal moment as the company enters the final stretch of its 2021–2025 Schneider Sustainability Impact SSI program. With six months remaining, Schneider Electric continues to demonstrate its commitment to measurable, inclusive, and transformative progress across its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals. The company's SSI score reached 8.06 out of 10 this quarter, reflecting sustained momentum across key sustainability pillars. A quarter marked by global recognition and ground-level impact This quarter, Schneider Electric was honored as the World's Most Sustainable Company by TIME and Statista for the second consecutive year. This recognition follows its recent distinction as Europe's Most Sustainable Corporation by Corporate Knights, reinforcing the company's leadership in sustainability. Beyond accolades, Q2 2025 delivered tangible results. Schneider Electric surpassed its goal of training 1 million people in energy management, a cornerstone of its commitment to inclusive energy transition and youth empowerment. This milestone, aligned with World Youth Skills Day 2025, is driven by the Youth Education & Entrepreneurship Program, active in over 60 countries. The program equips underserved communities with technical and entrepreneurial skills to participate in the energy transition. Recent initiatives highlight the program's global reach and impact: In Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, digital twin technology is used to train displaced communities in solar repair and e-waste recycling. The Conserve My Planet program engages students in India, Kenya, Vietnam, and Thailand through hands-on sustainability projects. In Brazil, mobile training benches bring renewable energy education to incarcerated youth, supporting reintegration and reducing recidivism. These initiatives share a common thread: when education meets technology and purpose, systemic change becomes possible. Sustained progress across key sustainability pillars: Schneider Electric also reported continued progress across several core sustainability indicators: 734 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions saved and avoided for customers since 2018, crossing the 700-million-tonne milestone. Supply chain decarbonization efforts continue to gain momentum, as operational CO₂ emissions from Schneider Electric's top 1,000 suppliers were reduced now by 48%, just two points away from the year-end target. This reflects the growing impact of the Zero Carbon Project, which combines local solutions, on-site support, renewable energy insights, and targeted training. The Decent Work Program reached 79% coverage in Q2 2025, up 39 points year-over-year, reflecting improved working conditions and compliance, particularly in the Middle East and East Asia & Japan. Prometeon Unveils 2024 Sustainability Report, Aiming for Net-Zero Emissions by 2040

Prometeon Tyre Group, a global manufacturer of tyres for the commercial, agricultural and OTR sectors, has published its 2024 Sustainability Report, which reinforces the Group's ESG strategy and further consolidates the central role of sustainability across all areas of the organisation. Structured around four key dimensions – environmental, social, governance and economic – the report highlights how sustainability objectives have become an integral part of the company's operations and strategic decision-making. In 2024, Prometeon recorded a 35.8% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions compared to 2016, the year the company was founded – exceeding its original 2030 target of a 32% reduction. Electricity consumption also decreased by 13.6% compared to 2016. The company aims to reduce energy consumption by 23% by 2025 and by 31% by 2030, again in reference to 2016 levels. Prometeon has set a clear and ambitious long-term goal: to achieve climate neutrality by 2040 based on a path aligned with the 1.5 °C limit set by the Paris Agreement. At the same time, the company continues its commitment to renewable energy, which now accounts for 47.8% of the Group's total electricity consumption. In Brazil, 100% of the electricity used comes from renewable sources, and the Gravataí production site is already carbon neutral for Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Materials and waste management are also at the heart of the Group's strategy: 33% of materials derive from renewable sources while recycled materials make up for 1.89% – a figure that continues to grow. Prometeon's goal is to reach 40% of renewable and recycled materials by 2030 and 100% by 2050. With regard to waste management, the 2024 results show a recovery rate of 98.2%, well beyond the 97% target set for 2030. The supply chain is a key pillar of Prometeon's sustainability path. In 2024, the company conducted 17 supplier audits, covering 21% of its annual raw material procurement value. The goal is to extend this verification process to 100% of raw material spending within five years. This initiative goes beyond monitoring conducted at suppliers, since it aims to generate a positive impact throughout the entire production chain. Over the past year, the company implemented a structured incentive plan for all employees, offering bonuses and benefits tied to the achievement of ESG objectives. Prometeon was also assessed by Morningstar Sustainalytics for its ESG approach integrated into business strategies and operations. The company received a notable ESG Risk Rating of 12.5, classified as 'Low Risk,' due to its continuous commitment to sustainability and greenhouse gas reduction. This rating places Prometeon among the most virtuous companies globally: 10th in the Automotive sector and 5th in the Tyre sub-sector. This positioning reflects the soundness of Prometeon's ESG management model and confirms the company's growing commitment to mitigating environmental, social and governance risks throughout its value chain. Nicolas Marchi, Chief of Internal Audit, Compliance, Sustainability & Institutional Relations Officer at Prometeon, stated: 'In a market like the tyre industry for the commercial, agricultural, and OTR segments, sustainability is a strategic priority. Integrating ESG criteria into our operating model – encompassing supplier selection, employee well-being and financial structuring – enables us to generate value in the environmental, social and economic contexts. This commitment not only strengthens our leadership but also propels us decisively towards our Net-Zero 2040 goal, while driving innovation in materials, processes and product performance. Sustainability has also become a key factor in attracting talented young individuals, who are increasingly sensitive to these issues.' Prometeon followed the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines in drafting its 2024 Sustainability Report. The GRI helps organisations to transparently report on their economic, environmental and social impacts, with a focus on impact assessment as a core element for understanding and communicating how their activities positively or negatively affect society and the environment. تم نسخ الرابط
