‘F1' trailer: Brad Pitt plays a veteran driver facing the past in high-stakes racing drama
A new trailer for F1, the upcoming racing drama starring Brad Pitt, has been released ahead of its global premiere on June 25. Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Pitt, and Lewis Hamilton, the film centers on a fictional Formula 1 team fighting to stay in the sport.
Pitt stars as Sonny Hayes, a former F1 driver who left the circuit years ago after a serious crash. He's brought back by his former teammate, Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), to help turn around the struggling APXGP team. His task is to guide the team's young and outspoken rookie, Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris.
The trailer highlights the tension between the two drivers. At one point, Pearce tells Hayes, 'You're making a mistake thinking I'm going to be some grateful kid who will bend a knee to an oldtimer.' Another scene shows team manager Kate (Kerry Condon) confronting Hayes about his return: 'Formula 1 is a team sport. It always was. We all lose our jobs if you can't pull off a miracle.'
The film explores Hayes's return to racing, the pressure of mentorship, and the internal politics of a struggling team. While fictional, F1 was shot during actual Grand Prix weekends, with Pitt and Idris reportedly driving at speeds over 180 mph.
F1 will release internationally on June 25 and in North America on June 27. Alongside Kosinski, Bruckheimer, and Pitt, Lewis Hamilton also serves as a producer, bringing real-world F1 experience to the film's production.

'I think it was just getting too much': Aston Martin official gives Lance Stroll injury update, reveals Plan B
Image credit: Lance Stroll/Instagram Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll was missing from the Spanish Grand Prix final last weekend, where his teammate Fernando Alonso took ninth position with two points. He was dealing with pain in his hand and wrist after the Qualifying race in Spain, as a result of which Aston Martin had only one driver take part in the final race the next day. Now, more details of his hand condition and Aston Martin's Plan B have been revealed. What happened to Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll Aston Martin's Chief Trackside Officer, Mike Krack, told about Lance Stroll's health status and whether he will be able to take part in his home race, the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal. Stroll is reportedly dealing with pain in his hand and wrist, which has a connection with the fractures he suffered in the 2023 cycling accident and the surgery he underwent for the same. Krack said about Stroll, 'We have seen it with Lance in 2023, when he fought his way back, they [the drivers] want to drive, they do not want to be out. Very often I think they drive with probably more pain than they would even admit, to be able to drive, because this is what they love to do. Over the last weeks, there was a mention here and there, but you are never aware how much it is, and over the weekend, I think it was just getting too much. " Further explaining how Stroll got the problem checked before the final race in Spain, he said, 'I think at the end of the day, on Saturday after Qualifying, Lance and his team decided it was better to go and check, go and check again, and the recommendation was better not to race.' Also Read: Fernando Alonso finally meets Adrian Newey at Aston Martin factory, team drops major hint after fan asks to 'make a winning car' He also revealed that Aston Martin is looking forward to Stroll's return for the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal from June 13 to 15. In case Stroll is unable to return, the team has reserve drivers Felipe Drugovich and Stoffel Vandoorne on standby. But there is a problem — the two are taking part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which is scheduled around the same time as the Canadian Grand Prix. Whether either of them will be asked to give up on that race for the F1 race remains to be seen.

Lewis Hamilton apologised off-camera to TV presenter for frustrated interview after Spanish Grand Prix, reveals her colleague
Image credit: Ferrari/Instagram There is no one bigger than Lewis Hamilton competing in Formula 1 at present. And he is, of course, upset about not being able to clinch even one win in his maiden season with Ferrari, since he moved from Mercedes to the French team this season. It has now been revealed that he apologised to Sky Sports F1 presenter Rachel Brookes for venting his frustration in an interview conducted just after the race in Spain. Lewis Hamilton's interview with Rachel Brookes Despite doing well during the race, Lewis Hamilton eventually finished sixth at the Spanish Grand Prix last weekend. He could have been seventh had Max Verstappen not taken the 10-second penalty for hitting George Russell's Mercedes. Soon after the race, when Sky Sports presenter Rachel Brookes asked Hamilton why he said something was wrong with the car, he replied, 'Not particularly. It was just not a great day.' When she enquired about the strategy call, he said, 'Strategy was good, the team did a great job, just... that's it.' It seems she hit the wrong nerve when she told him, 'I hate seeing you in this mood, it's hard seeing you in this mood.' The upset Ferrari driver couldn't hold back his frustration and responded, saying, 'What do you want me to say? I've just had a really bad day. I've got nothing to say. It was a difficult day, I've got nothing else to add to it. It was terrible. There's no point explaining it. It's not your fault, but what else is there to say?' When she told him, 'I totally understand that. I just hope they find answers for you,' he said, 'I'm sure they won't. It's probably just me.' Lewis Hamilton apologised to Rachel Brookes According to Sky Sports F1 commentator David Croft said on The Fast and The Curious podcast that Hamilton apologised to her for how he reacted in the interview. 'He did apologise to Rachel Brookes for being so down in the dumps off-camera. He said, 'I'm really sorry about that. I'm just so down.' And that just shows the extent that he really was down. He's not putting this on for the cameras, trust me," he said. He is yet to win a Grand Prix for Ferrari. What has made things even more difficult for him is that, while he is left complaining about his Ferrari, his teammate Charles Leclerc has secured three podiums this year, including taking third place at the recently held Spanish Grand Prix, where Hamilton finished sixth.
