Kerry GAA girls praised for their sporting nature in iconic photograph
Emma is wearing gloves and asked Jane if she would tie her laces. Kindly, Jane knelt down and tied the lace but was astute enough to keep her eye fixed on the game at all times.
Sensing the uniqueness of the moment, Matt clicked his camera for a photograph that has since gone viral for its kind-natured vibes despite taking place during a competitive U14 County League Final.
Matt first posted the image on the Dr Crokes' Facebook page where it soon attracted huge interest. The photograph has since gained 300,000 views, and has been shared by close to 200 different online accounts.
Youth clubs in Ohio in the USA and soccer clubs in the UK have picked up on it, while interest is also reaching organisations in New Zealand and Australia. LauraLynn – Ireland's Children's Hospice – is publishing a book for Christmas and they have also expressed interest in using the image.
'I was just lucky to get it as I was looking for a photo that would get as many kids as possible in it. I remember thinking taking the shot how this would never happen in a fella's game, no matter what the age group,' Matt said.
'It was a very sporting gesture and it's got a huge reaction. I suppose there is an innocence to it and it's just something simple. I've never had a reaction like this to a photo. Some people have even said it should be on the wall of every dressing room in Ireland,' Matt said.

Former top jockey, 33, hailed as superhero after saving child from drowning ‘who was about to go under'
The former jockey insists he did nothing extraordinary HEROIC ACT Former top jockey, 33, hailed as superhero after saving child from drowning 'who was about to go under' A FORMER jockey has been hailed as a "superhero" after saving a child from drowning. George Chaloner, an ex-jockey who rode well over 200 winners on the Flat before his career was ended by injury at the age of 25 in 2017, was holidaying in Filey in North Yorkshire last weekend. The 33-year-old spotted a youngster - described as being eight or nine years old - out at sea who had been swept out by the strong currents. Chaloner swam out to sea to save them alongside another rescuer, recalling how the lad was "about to go under". He told RacingPost: "We went on holiday to Filey with the kids. We were at the end of Filey Bay, Reighton Sands, with the boys all day. We were just about ready to go and there were some shouts of 'help' from the sea. Advertisement "Everyone stopped and looked but no-one went down. After ten or 15 seconds, I went down with another tall lad. A woman at the side of the sea said 'those kids are drowning, I can't swim'. "The kids were playing in the breakers but the tide had come in and pushed them into a pool and they'd got out of their depth. I couldn't touch the floor there. "There were two girls who were shouting 'my brother, my brother!' and pointing to a little lad about 15 or 20 feet away. "He was eight or nine and when I got to him he was being pulled out by the rip tide, on his last legs and about to go under. Advertisement "I got him and swam him halfway back where someone had come out with a half-bodyboard and we got him on that and brought him back." The incident would not have been publicly known were it not for his partner, Daisy Jones, who shared a Facebook post and praise him as a "real-life superhero". Match of the Day host Gabby Logan cheers on jockey daughter, Lois, as she makes racing debut at Goodwood However, humble Chaloner insisted he had not done anything extraordinary, saying of his "hero" label: "I don't know about that. "You just hope that if it was one of your kids, somebody else would do it for them." Advertisement Chaloner, a graduate from the National Horseracing College, recalled how lifeguard training when he was young helped him cope in the strong currents, despite having not swum properly in years. He added: "The kids were fine but they were jiggered and so was I. "I'm not as fit as I used to be and I'd legged it from the top of the beach, swum out about 50 feet and brought the lad back in. I was ready for a cup of tea! "It turned out two women we had seen were the kids' mothers, but they were deaf and didn't hear them shouting; they just saw them splashing about and didn't know they were in trouble." Advertisement Chaloner's biggest win as a jockey came in the Wokingham Handicap and Northumberland Plate in 2014. The retired jockey now works as a stud manager at Cliff Stud, and will be in York next week as he serves the horseman there. He said: "I work closely with the vets and doctors and monitor the horses from the stableyard, to the pre-parade ring and so on and if there's any bother I'm the first one on the scene."

They posted a wonderful black-and-white video including clips of the pregnancy test, the scans and on holiday together. The caption read: "Half of me, half of you." "It's nice for him, it's good for him to make his debut. "He is a really good kid and his family have done a great job." But the Southampton defender admitted he fears becoming a "one-cap wonder" following relegation last season. Roy Keane fires cheeky warning to future son-in-law Harwood-Bellis live on ITV Harwood-Bellis said: "It's the dream to play for England and my dream came true. "You want to stay there and not be a one-cap wonder. "I've got a long way to go. I wouldn't say I'm mad close to the team at the minute, with the season going the way it went. "Personally, if I look at it selfishly, to get back in the England squad, I need to be playing well in the Premier League. "If I want to play for England, we've got to get promoted. It adds: "Deeply regretted by his sorrowing mother, aunt, uncle, granddad, cousins and extended family circle." His funeral is to take place today, August 13 at St Ninnidh's Church in his hometown of Derrylin. Among the tributes paid to him since Monday's awful news broke, the Mark Kirk Running Group hailed him for being a "valuable member" of their training group. Their Facebook post read: "We have just heard today the very sad news of the death of Oisin Cassidy who was a valued member of the training group and one of the founder members of Candour Track Club. "'Cass' a master of fantasy football league will missed by all his teammates and running friends. Sincerest condolences to all his family circle." Furthermore, Rock Runners - who are a community-based run club in Derrylin - added a heartfelt tribute of their own. They reflected: "We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our dear friend, Oisin Cassidy this morning. "Oisin was an exceptionally talented runner, both locally and nationally, representing Athletics NI in international competitions. He was also a proud multiple time winner of our very own 5K race. "Throughout his illness, Oisin showed remarkable strength, dignity, and kindness. Inside Sharlene Mawdsley's 'delicious' yet atypical Tenerife holiday with GAA star boyfriend Mikey Breen "Even during his toughest days he thought of others allowing us to host the 5/10K Around the Rock event in his honour, raising an incredible amount for his chosen cancer charities. "But most of all we will remember Oisin as a kind inspirational young man who was highly respected in our community and we extend our deepest sympathy to his mum Veronica and all of the Cassidy family. Rest easy Oisin." Another local running club, OMG AC, wrote: "It is with much sadness that we learned today of the passing of Oisin Cassidy. Oisin was such a talented but humble young man. "He bore his illness with courage and not a complaint. We send all our love to Oisín's mum, Veronica Cassidy, and all his wider family circle and his friends. Oisin and all of you will always be remembered by OMG AC." GAA CLUB'S MEMORIES Throughout his childhood and adolescence he'd also represented the local GAA club who similarly paid their respects as the entire community came to terms with his life being cut short. Derrylin O'Connells hailed: "Our club is in shock and mourning at the tragic passing of Oisin Cassidy. "Oisin proudly represented our club at under age levels and was part of our Under 12 Division 1 league winning team in 2015. "Oisin a talented, humble and gifted athlete used his athletic prowess to occupy the midfield and wing half back positions in our teams. "Oisin would cover every blade of grass when he was on field, with surging runs his trademark. "Oisin had made a return to play with our senior team, unfortunately his diagnosis prevented him from playing with his friends. "He did however fulfil a vital role for our senior team last year by being our 'Stats man' a role he fulfilled with due diligence. "Our deepest condolences go out to Oisin's mother Veronica, the whole Cassidy family and Oisin's friends and teammates. "As a mark of respect all club activities will be postponed until after Oisin is laid to rest."
