Nearly half of Magic Kingdom's attractions shut down Monday night, reports say

Yahoo11-02-2025

The same night that the Philadelphia Eagles were celebrating their Super Bowl win at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, nearly all the rides shut down at the park, according to reports by local outlets WKMG News 6 and WOFL.
There were also some social media posts about the issue.
"My brother is at Disney World right now & everything just stopped," @MelissaElrod20 wrote in the post on X. "People are stuck in rides everywhere [and] all the lights inside the rides are on. He said it's pandemonium in the streets at the Magic Kingdom."
"This is crazy," wrote a Reddit user in the Walt Disney World subreddit. "Several ride queues emptied out in front of me. [I] go to the next ride, and it's being emptied."
Hours before the park was set to close at 10 p.m. local time, the My Disney Experience app listed 18 out of the park's 40 attractions as "temporarily closed," reported local news outlet News 6. Guests use the My Disney Experience app to view the wait times of rides and the app also shows which rides are out of service.
At 8 p.m. on Monday, only five rides were available to ride, according to News 6.
Attractions guests were able to ride included the following, according to the news outlet:
The Haunted Mansion in Liberty Square
Jungle Cruise in Adventureland
Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover in Tomorrow Land
Tron Lightcycle / Run in Tomorrowland
As of Tuesday morning, at 8:45 a.m. ET, some of the rides that were listed as "temporarily unavailable" on Monday have wait times and seem to be available on the My Disney Experience app. Rides without wait times listed on the rides will not open until 9 a.m. ET.
USA TODAY has reached out to Walt Disney World for comment.
Although there were claims online that the shutdown was due to a power outage, what actually caused the park's attractions to be shut down remains unclear.
While the rides shut down before the park closed, Magic Kingdom was scheduled to host a "Disney After Hours" ticketed event, according to Walt Disney World's website.
The event allows guests who purchased a separate ticket, priced from $175 to $185 plus tax, to stay from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., after the park closes for regular ticket or annual pass holders.
However, by 10 p.m., the time the event was set to start, only three rides were shut down, reported WOFL.
On the list were the following:
Space Mountain in Tomorrowland
Tiana's Bayou Adventure in Frontierland
"It's a Small World" in Fantasyland
It is unclear if the event was affected by the ride closures.
On Monday, the Philadelphia Eagles, the winners of the big game that happened the night before, also made the traditional visit to the Magic Kingdom.
In a video posted to Walt Disney World's Instagram, Jalen Hurts, the Eagle's quarterback, can be seen on a parade float with Mickey and Minnie Mouse driving down Main Street USA.
It is not known if the Philadelphia Eagles were affected by the ride shutdown.
As of Tuesday, at 8:45 a.m. ET, the only rides that were listed on the theme park app as unavailable were previously closed for refurbishment before Monday night's shutdown.
The rides "closed for refurbishment" are:
Astro Orbitor in Tomorrowland
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Frontierland
The Hall of Presidents in Liberty Square

Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Are Together in Florida for a Reason, Says ‘Source'

's current reported living situation with Travis Kelce in Miami proves that she is supporting her beau in the best way. The singer-songwriter has largely stayed away from the spotlight since her last major public appearance at the 2025 Super Bowl. During the downtime, Swift has continued to enjoy romantic outings with Kelce. Most recently, the star couple was spotted on a dinner date in Florida. A new report has now suggested that Swift and Kelce are in Miami for a reason. A new report has shed some light on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's current living situation in Miami after their recent dinner date. PEOPLE exclusively learned from a source that the singer is staying with the Kansas City Chiefs' tight end in Florida while he is training for the upcoming NFL season. Swift is extending her time in Miami to 'support and spend time' with Kelce. The hotshot couple, who have been dating since 2023, was recently spotted in Florida during a dinner date at Harry's in West Palm Beach. The source told PEOPLE that Kelce had been 'working on Friday before his dinner date' with Swift. They noted, 'He left early to go meet her.' The source later added that the athlete 'still seems very happy' with his girlfriend. Meanwhile, as the snapshots from Swift and Kelce's date night surfaced on the internet, the NFL star's mom, Donna Kelce, also showed her support. She sweetly liked a fan photo that captured moments from the couple's outing. It showed Swift and Kelce cozying up at their booth while dining at Harry's in West Palm Beach. In addition to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's living situation, another report recently hinted at a potential proposal. The Daily Mail exclusively learned from a source that the 'conversation will be front and center' after Kelce is 'done playing.' The outlet explained that at 35, the upcoming NFL season could be the last for the football star. Because of this, the Super Bowl 2026 can likely open new chapters for Swift and Kelce. Patrick Mahomes says Travis Kelce 'doesn't seem like a guy' who's retiring soon

On the eve of the 2025 Super Bowl, it was reported Travis Kelce was considering retirement and what happened in the big game could influence his decision. The Kansas City Chiefs' dreams of a three-peat vanished, and Kelce announced he would be returning for the 2025 season. It goes without saying Kelce is approaching the end of his career. He posted career lows in yards and touchdowns and, for a second straight season, failed to make an All-Pro team after doing so in eight consecutive years. He's also had two consecutive seasons without eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark in receiving yardage. "If it's the last ride, you would never know," Mahomes told reporters Thursday at Chiefs practice. "The way he's talking about football, the way he's talking about working and trying to be even better this year than he was last year, he doesn't seem like a guy like it's his last ride, like he's tired of the job." Kelce, 35, initially said he was "kicking every can I can down the road" regarding his decision to retire. But, ultimately, "I f---ing love playing the game of football." "I still feel like I can play at a high level and possibly at a higher level than I did last year. I don't think it was my best outing. I think I let my guys down in a lot more moments than I helped them," Kelce said on "New Heights" in March. "Especially if you look at my track record and how I've been in years past. I want to give it a good run. I have a bad taste in my mouth in how I ended the year and how well I was playing and how accountable I was for the people around me. And I love so many people in Kansas City, both in that facility and in the community, and it's home for me. "I don't want to leave that life yet. I've put in a lot of hard work and put in a lot of focus into being the best that I can for KC. Last year, it didn't end well for us, and I feel like there is a responsibility in me to play out the contract I initially signed to give Kansas City and the Chiefs organization everything I've got, and that's what I'm gonna do, man." How can the Chiefs expand their offense?

How can the Chiefs expand their offense? | Football 301 Yahoo Sports NFL analyst Nate Tice, fantasy analyst Matt Harmon and NFL writer Charles McDonald discuss Kansas City's struggles through the air last season and why sorting it out is imperative to getting back to the Super Bowl in 2025. Hear the full conversation on 'Football 301' - and subscribe on Apple Podcasts , Spotify , YouTube or wherever you listen tid View more Video Transcript I wanna see, I guess, the expansion of Kansas City's offense. Advertisement You're gonna get Rasheed Rice back. He lost Joe Dooney though, so we'll see like how Kingsley Sumataya plays that left guard. I don't know, man. He was really bad when he played last year. I think if you can just get Rasheed Rice back. And Xavier Worthy takes that next step, you can at least get back to playing some form of like explosive offense because I think, you know, even with, with someone as good as Mahomes as your quarterback, you don't want to be living how they were last year. Maybe they thought Xavier Worthy was gonna be a little bit more ready as like a real wide receiver threat. If you're gonna sign up for another 17 games of what they went through last year. Advertisement Uh, I don't know if they would get back to the Super Bowl, which is, that's the bar for this team. Kind of led to Andy Reid's worst tendencies, which is going full blown Mickey Mouse offense, Full blown, I mean, old school, late 90s West Coast with his, you know, the dancing and the red zone stuff, like. This is the frustrations with Andy Reid for a long time was what we saw last year. This was, this is what people used to say about the Eagles offenses in the os. Like, I remember as a kid, and then now I saw it last year and I'm like. Where's Freddie Mitchell at? I remember this offense. It's like, where's where's another 4 yard swinger out? Advertisement Uh, like I remember these offenses, so it's like, let's get back to 2018. I know 2018 is just never gonna happen again. I mean, obviously, but like let's get back to that like her down, block it up and chuck. Man, I would just feel so better, so much better about this, uh, offense if they just had like one true ex-receiver, you know, like one guy who could win against pressman coverage, like, throw him a bound, like, just handle the boundary stuff because all of these guys are players that take some level of role catering.
