UAE Records Exceptional Summer Tourism Growth Driven by Festivals and Events
The United Arab Emirates is experiencing an exceptional summer tourism season, with residents and international visitors flocking to its cities for cultural, heritage, and entertainment events despite the hot climate. Strong promotional campaigns, attractive hotel offers, and large-scale indoor activities have helped transform the summer months into a thriving tourism period. Preliminary figures show hotel occupancy reaching between 60 and 70 percent in July and early August, reflecting the success of the country's strategy to position itself as a year-round destination. Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan said the season highlights the UAE's distinction as a global hub that combines modernity, comfort, and security, supported by world-class infrastructure and meticulous organisation. He credited the achievements to the vision of the nation's leadership, led by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who prioritises innovation, stability, and quality of life. Major events are drawing large crowds across the emirates. Abu Dhabi hosted the 21st Liwa Dates Festival, welcoming over 144,000 visitors, alongside the Historic Dalma Race Festival and global sporting events. Dubai is running Dubai Summer Surprises until 31 August, offering shopping promotions, raffles, and entertainment. Sharjah is also seeing strong participation in its Summer Promotions, boosting both tourism and retail activity. Beyond its diverse attractions, the UAE's reputation for safety and stability continues to be a defining advantage, ranking high in global indices of security and quality of services. This environment, Sheikh Dr. Saeed noted, makes the country a preferred family destination where visitors enjoy peace of mind alongside a rich cultural and modern experience.
