Lottie Tomlinson teary-eyed as she reflects on family loss in emotional video
Louis Tomlinson's sister Lottie Tomlinson is a guest on the next episode of Giovanna Fletcher's Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast and she's set to discuss loss within her family
Makeup artist Lottie Tomlinson emotionally opened up about loss in her family in a podcast teaser this week. She's set to discuss experiencing grief, including over the death of her mother Johannah Deakin, in the upcoming episode.
Lottie, 26, and her six siblings, who include One Direction 's Louis Tomlinson, 33, lost their mother Johannah, who was aged 43, in 2016 following a leukaemia diagnosis. Less than three years later they experienced another bereavement as Lottie's sister Félicité Tomlinson died aged 18 in 2019.
Over the years, the family have spoken about their loss. It's now been revealed that Lottie opens up about navigating grief on the next episode of the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast. She spoke to host Giovanna Fletcher, 40, recently for the episode, which is due to be released on Tuesday.
Ahead of its release, a teaser clip shared on Instagram this evening shows Lottie emotionally talking about her family. She shares at one point on the podcast: "It's not been easy but we've just stuck together as a family." She adds in the clip released today: "We're getting there. We're rebuilding."
Seemingly speaking about her late mother, she says: "It's just sad that she's not here with us." It's then referenced that Lottie moved back home following Johannah's death, with it previously revealed that she took on a parental role for her younger siblings Félicité, twins Phoebe and Daisy, then 12, and twins Doris and Ernie, who were two.
Giovanna said: "You moved back for a bit to be there for the little ones." Lottie is then heard telling the podcast host: "Because they were two." She went on to mention that when her mother died her youngest siblings Doris and Ernie were the same age as her own son Lucky, two, is now.
Lottie said: "That's what hurts the most when I speak about it it's because Lucky's two now." Teary-eyed, she added: "Losing a mum at that age is just so so sad and traumatising for them, y'know."
Later in the teaser clip, Lottie is heard discussing having become a parent at a similar time to some of her siblings. The makeup artist shares her son Lucky and four-month-old daughter Flossie with her fiancé Lewis Burton, 33.
Giovanna said: "And with your siblings as well, it's that thing of, not only have your got your own family now, but seeing that that family growing and expanding." Lottie responded: "Louis's got a little boy. I've got Lucky and Flossie, and [Phoebe] has got Olive. It's just the best. It's like we're recreating y'know what we grew up with with all the kids and it's so nice to be able to do it together."
The teaser for the podcast episode comes after Lottie spoke about dealing with her grief in an interview with the Mirror recently. Sharing her thoughts with us, she said: "I feel like being with my family is just the best therapy for me."
Lottie added in the interview, published earlier this week: "That's all I've ever wanted and now that I've finally got that, it brings me so much comfort and it makes me feel closer to the people I've lost. It's been like a healing thing for me."
The next episode of Happy Mum, Happy Baby featuring Lottie as a guest is set to be released on podcast platforms on Tuesday.

Tulisa to recount drugs trial in new memoir detailing her career highs and lows
The pop singer, 36, who found fame in hip-hop trio N-Dubz, was arrested on suspicion of supplying class A drugs in 2013, but the charges were later dismissed after prosecution witness, 'fake sheikh' journalist Mazher Mahmood, was found guilty of tampering with evidence in the trial. The book, titled Judgement, has been written using journals that Contostavlos wrote in amid the media storm following the sting operation that saw Mahmood pose as a wealthy film producer called Samir Khan. In an Instagram video on Tuesday, Contostavlos said: '90% of this no one has ever known. A post shared by Tulisa Contostavlos (@tulisacontostavlos) 'The story of my year in 2013 has been spoken about many times, but it has never been told in the way that it's told in my new book. 'This is living all the juiciest moments from behind the scenes. This book will have you crying one moment, on the edge of your seat the next.' She added: 'I have given absolutely all of myself in this book, it's Sex And The City on a drugs charge.' She wrote in the caption: 'As you all know, I've been through the highs and some unimaginable lows in my career. 'For the first time, I'm sharing everything. The truth, the pain, the fallout, and the strength I discovered when my world fell apart.' The singer had been accused of arranging for Mahmood to be sold more than £800 worth of cocaine by one of her contacts following an elaborate sting for The Sun On Sunday in 2013. During a meeting at a hotel in London, Mahmood posed as a film producer and plied Contostavlos with alcohol as they discussed an acting role alongside Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio. Following the collapse of the trial Contostavlos said 'I have never dealt drugs and never been involved in taking or dealing cocaine' in a statement where she also accused Mahmood of a 'horrific and disgusting entrapment'. In 2016 Mahmood was jailed for tampering with evidence in the collapsed drugs trial when the 'King of the Sting' and his driver Alan Smith, were found guilty of plotting to pervert the course of justice. Publishing director, Ciara Lloyd, who has acquired UK and Commonwealth rights to the book, said: 'When I read Tulisa's proposal, I knew instantly that I wanted to publish her. 'I remember the infamous 'Fake Sheikh' trial well and how unfairly Tulisa was treated, a story that highlighted the bias and misogyny in the press, and in our society. 'So, to give a voice to Tulisa and her story as well as showcase her phenomenal talent as a writer is a real privilege. 'This is the perfect redemption story for the original Female Boss, and I'm so proud to be publishing her at Blink.' Contostavlos is most known for singing in hip-hop group N-Dubz who had hits with songs including I Need You, Girls and Number 1, featuring Tinchy Stryder. In 2011 she became a judge on popular reality singing series The X Factor and a year later she released her debut solo album, The Female Boss. She also released the book, Honest: My Story So Far: The Official Autobiography, in 2012, which detailed her life growing up on a council estate in London, to making music with N-Dubz, and helping girl group Little Mix win The X Factor in 2011. The singer from Camden most recently appeared on the 2024 season of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!. Judgement will publish in hardback, ebook and audio in August 2025 from Blink Publishing.

Sorry singer Justin, who was recently centre of rumours surrounding his marriage to Hailey, was recently slammed by fans after he said he told his wife and mum of his son, Jack Blues, that she would never grace the cover of Vogue during a heated argument. Responding to her cover shot for the US edition of the magazine on Instagram, he mused: "'Yo, this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight, I told Hails that she would never be on the cover of Vogue. Yikes, I know, so mean. For some reason because I felt so disrespected, I thought I gotta get even. "Think as we mature we realise that we're not helping anything by getting even, we're honestly just prolonging what we really want which is intimacy and connection." He concluded his post by writing a message directly to Hailey, which read: "So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn't get a Vogue cover cuz clearly I was sadly mistaken." While some claimed he was simply joking, many slammed the Canadian singer over his comments. He soon replaced the caption with a shrugging emoji. Fans noticed the change, with one writing: "Not him changing the caption." Not long after, it was revealed Hailey struck a huge deal to sell her beauty and skincare brand Rhode to e.l.f. Beauty in a transaction that could reach a staggering £740 million ($1billion).
