
CBSE class 12 exams conclude smoothly; when are results expected?
Muscat: The Indian Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has successfully concluded the Class 12 board examinations for the 2024–25 academic year. Students across India and abroad, appeared for the exams held over several weeks.
This year, the exams covered more than 120 subjects across the Science, Commerce, and Humanities streams. According to students and teachers, most papers followed the prescribed syllabus and maintained moderate difficulty.
In science, papers on biology and computer science were said to include a good mix of theoretical and practical questions. Commerce students found subjects like accountancy and economics manageable, while Humanities students described papers on political science and history as straightforward and concept-based.
CBSE had also introduced updates to the question paper format this year, with an increased focus on competency-based questions in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. These changes are aimed at encouraging critical thinking and reducing reliance on rote learning.
With exams now complete, the board is expected to begin the evaluation process. Students are advised to regularly check official CBSE websites for updates regarding result announcements. Results according to local media reports, are expected in May.

Indian School students excel in CBSE exams
Muscat: The 2025 results of the CBSE Board have set a record for the Indian Schools in the Sultanate of Oman with an increased percentage of high achievers as compared to previous years. Across all streams — Science, Commerce, and Humanities students excelled, setting new benchmarks for scholastic distinction. The Oman toppers in Class 12 Science stream are as follows: The first position is claimed by Sabyasachi Choudhury of Indian School al Ghubra with 98.4 percent. Navaneet Gopalan of Indian School Al Maabela has claimed the second position with 98.2 percent marks. The third place is claimed by Aman Ikbal of Indian School al Wadi Al Kabir with 97.4 percent marks. In the Commerce Stream, Sanghvi Anand of Indian School Muscat (97.8 percent), Sanjana Kuzhivayalil Praveen of Indian School Al Ghubra (97.4 percent), and the third position is claimed by three students with 97.2 percent: Nidha Villarvattom Reji of Indian School Al Ghubra, Purva Vimal Kakkad, and Tarnjot Kaur of Indian School Al Wadi al Kabir. The three positions in the Humanities stream are as follows: The first position is claimed by two students with 98.4 percent, Israa Mohammed Sadique Shaikh of Indian School Al Ghubra and Sakina Jariwala of Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir; Saira Catherine of Indian School Al Seeb has claimed the second position with 98%; and Keyuri Prashant Buranpur of Indian School Muscat secured the third position with 97.8% marks. Class X toppers in Oman are as follows: The first position is claimed by Angela Mariam Jacob of Indian School Al Ghubra with 99%. Gouri Reghu (Indian School Al Ghubra), Shashwat Singh (Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir), and Samhitha Sushil (Indian School Al Seeb) claimed the second position with 98.9% marks. The third place is claimed by four students with 98.6%: Dhanya Krishnaji of Indian School Al Ghubra, Goutham Radhakrishnan, Shaurya Saraswat, and Shilok Joshi of Indian School Muscat. Syed Ahmad Salman, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman, extended congratulations to the students, their parents, principals, and teachers for their exceptional accomplishments. Indian PM Modi condoles demise of former ISRO Chairman Kasturirangan, remembers his selfless contribution to nation
New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday condoled the demise of former ISRO chairman Dr K Kasturirangan, saying his visionary leadership and selfless contribution to the nation will always be remembered. In a post on X, PM Modi said, "I am deeply saddened by the passing of Dr K Kasturirangan, a towering figure in India's scientific and educational journey. His visionary leadership and selfless contribution to the nation will always be remembered. He served ISRO with great diligence, steering India's space programme to new heights, for which we also received global recognition. His leadership also witnessed ambitious satellite launches and focused on innovation." Former ISRO chairman Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan passed away in Bengaluru today at the age of 84. His body will be kept in Raman Research Institute (RRI) for paying last respects on Sunday, from 10 am- 12 pm. "Dr K Kasturirangan has left for heavenly abode this morning at 1043 am at his residence in Bangalore. His body will be kept in Raman Research Institute (RRI) for paying last respects on Sunday, April 27th, from 1000- 1200 hrs," ISRO PRO said. President Droupadi Murmu also condoled the passing of Kasturirangan, saying that as head of ISRO, he played a stellar role in the evolution of India's space programme. With his passion for knowledge, he also contributed greatly in diverse fields. Home Minister Amit Shah expressed sorrow over the demise of Kasturirangan, saying his passing away is an irreparable loss to our nation. A multifaceted genius, Kasturirangan Ji led Bharat's space mission to new heights as the head of the ISRO and also contributed immensely to the fields of education, law, and policymaking. His passing away is an irreparable loss to our nation. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and admirers at this hour of grief." Union Minister Jitendra Singh also expressed sorrow over the Former ISRO chairman Kasturirangan's demise, saying his contributions to ISRO and Indian science will be remembered for generations. In a post on X, Singh said, "Deeply saddened by the passing of Dr K Kasturirangan, a visionary scientist and a guiding force behind India's space programme. His contributions to ISRO and Indian science will be remembered for generations. Heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. Om Shanti." Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also expressed sorrow over the Former ISRO chairman Kasturirangan's demise and prayed to God to grant strength to his family to bear the loss. In a post on X, CM Dhami said, "The news of the demise of Dr K Kasturirangan ji, former head of ISRO and who took the Indian space program to new heights, is extremely sad. I pray to God to grant a place to the departed soul at His feet and give strength to the family to bear this immense loss. Under your leadership, ISRO achieved many remarkable milestones including the successful launch and operation of India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) which are unforgettable. Humble tribute!" RSS also condoled the passing of Former ISRO chairman Dr K Kasturirangan, saying we pray the almighty to grant a place to the holy soul in his lotus feet. A recipient of Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibhushan, Dr K Kasturirangan served as the chairman of ISRO for nine years from 1994 to 2003. He had also served as a member of the Rajya Sabha (2003-09) and a member of the Planning Commission of India. He played a key role in shaping India's education policy as the chairman of the committee that drafted the National Education Policy 2020.
