Sixers' Allen Iverson sends message to Carmelo Anthony ahead of Hall of Fame induction
Now, 19 years later, Iverson and Anthony will team up once again, only this time, it will be with the Sixers' legend inducting his former teammate into the 2025 Hall of Fame. Anthony selected Iverson and Dwayne Wade as the two stars to induct him into the NBA's history books. On Friday, August 8, Iverson shared a message for Anthony via Instagram.
"Congratulations Bro! I'm HONORED and blessed to be chosen to welcome you into the Hall of Fame!" Iverson wrote in the caption.
Anthony will be joined by Dwight Howard, Billy Donovan, Mickey Arison, Sue Bird and Maya Moore as the 2025 Hall of Fame class.
Iverson spent 10 seasons with the Sixers, playing in 682 regular-season games and averaging 28 points, 6.1 assists and 4 rebounds while shooting 42.1% from the field. And, while seeing Iverson and Anthony together again will likely be a bitter pill to swallow for some Sixers fans, the fact that they get to see a franchise legend back on their TV, even in a non-playing role, should be enough to get them excited.

An investigation into the tragic death found Kiser placed a $25 bet with popular sports betting platform DraftKings at 5:14 p.m., 75 minutes before Trigg was spotted outside by a security camera, according to Kiser's phone data. The wager was for Celtics star Jayson Tatum scoring over 40 points in the game against the Knicks. Kiser was paid out $102.50 after Tatum scored 42 points in the 121-113 loss. The police report was made public after Emilie Kiser successfully petitioned the Arizona Superior Court for Maricopa County to remove two pages regarding her son's death. The filing by the influencer was to censor the reason police recommended Brady Kiser should be charged with Class 4 felony child abuse, according to AZCentral. Police submitted a report asking the Maricopa County Attorney's Office to consider charging Brady Kiser with child abuse with criminal negligence. Officials determined that there was insufficient evidence to charge Brady.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Ramón Laureano singled in Xander Bogaerts from second base with no outs in the 10th inning and the San Diego Padres beat the Boston Red Sox 5-4 on Saturday night. With runners on first and second and the infield drawn in, Laureano, obtained from Baltimore at the trade deadeline, hit a chopper off off Garrett Whitlock (5-2) over third baseman Alex Bregman into left field. Bogaerts, who had a big game against his former team, scored. Boston's Roman Anthony tied it in the ninth when a ground-rule double off All-Star closer Robert Suarez that brought in Ceddanne Rafaela. Bogaerts homered, had an RBI single and walked. Manny Machado cost San Diego at least one run with a failed hidden-ball trick before Red Sox starter Lucas Giolito walked in two straight runs during a fifth-inning meltdown that gave the Padres the lead.
