Watch the new trailer for My Mother's Wedding hereKristin Scott Thomas brings her real-life story to the big screen as director, writer, producer and star of the new film My Mother's Wedding.
In theaters Aug. 8 after a 2023 Toronto International Film Festival premiere (when it was titled North Star), the new movie stars the British actress, 65, as a version of her own mother, with Scarlett Johansson, Sienna Miller and Emily Beecham as her daughters.
As the new trailer shows, their family reunion centers around the third wedding of Thomas' character Diana, twice-widowed after her two previous husbands' deaths.
'Over the weekend, the family gathers to celebrate the new marriage,' reads an official synopsis, 'but mother and daughters alike are forced to revisit the past and confront the future, all with help from a colorful group of unexpected wedding guests.'

'I brought you up to be women, not just daughters,' Diana says in the trailer. Accusing her daughters of finding her fiancé 'dull,' she adds, 'He is the man I love."
"He makes me happy. Which, when you all eventually grow up, you will learn is the most important thing," she continues.
Co-writing with husband John Micklethwait, Thomas drew from real family history to inspire her directorial debut. The Slow Horses star was 5 years old when she lost her father, and 12 when she lost a stepfather — both Royal Navy pilots who died in service.
In My Mother's Wedding, Miller's character Victoria is a famous actress, while Beecham's Georgina is a palliative nurse and Johansson's Katherine is a captain in the Royal Navy. Among the film's costars is Freida Pinto.
As the trailer shows, tensions run high in the English countryside as Diana's daughters prepare for her third nuptials.
'This is my wedding — pull yourselves together!' she can be heard shouting at them.

Natalya Gets Candid Regarding Naomi's WWE Absence
Natalya comments on Naomi not being medically cleared to compete Monday night on WWE RAW. On a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, RAW Superstar Natalya spoke on the situation where Naomi wasn't medically cleared to compete on RAW earlier this week and made it clear that when the Women's World Champion is ready to talk about it, she will. 'Especially for the locker room, it's one of those things that, well, somebody will know what's going on, but in this situation, like, Naomi is a really close friend of mine, but I just feel like it's a time right now where she needs space. 'So usually when something crazy is going on, I don't think it's crazy in a bad way, but I think that, like, obviously, it's private, it's personal. Nobody ever wants to go down with an injury,' Natalya said. 'Knowing how hard Naomi has fought to get this spot that she's in. Natalya reflects on Naomi's Money in the Bank Cash-In 'She's at the top of the division. She has this groundbreaking moment at Money in the Bank. She wins it, and then she cashes in at the second-ever all-women's pay-per-view, she cashes in at Evolution, which is a great way to cash in. I mean, every girl was at Gorilla, hugging her and crying, and every guy was too. Everybody was just so happy for her, so excited for her. 'So it is crazy, because she is so excited. As far as I know, the last time we talked, she's like, 'I know what I have, and I'm so grateful for it. I can't believe all this is happening.' But, I feel like she's so, so beyond grateful for it. So whatever is going on right now, it's definitely like, there's a part of me that wants to be like, 'Hey, Trin, like, what's going on? Tell me, give me the scoop.' 'But the other part of me is like, sometimes when people are going through something, or they're dealing with, like I said, an injury or some extenuating situation, I feel like she will talk about it when she's ready to talk about it, but I know she would have loved to have wrestled IYO on Monday.' Kaytranada Returns With New Album ‘Ain't No Damn Way'
For the second summer in a row, Haitian-Canadian producer Kaytranada is getting people dancing with a new studio album. The Grammy-winning DJ has released his fourth album Ain't No Damn Way!, the follow-up to last year's Timeless. Kaytranada gave little warning for the release, announcing the LP earlier this week and dropping lead single 'Space Invader' shortly thereafter. Like with Timeless, Kaytranada plays with a wide range of sounds and rhythms on the project, from more upbeat tracks like 'Championship' and 'Don't Worry Babe / I Got U Babe' to laid-back offerings like 'Things' and 'Shine Your Light For We.' He even samples TLC's 'Let's Do It Again' on closing track 'Do It! (Again!).' In recent years, Kaytranada has fully stepped into his power, unafraid to create beats or make musical tweaks that he feel might not resonate with listeners or collaborators. 'I always used to be very shy in the studio and sometimes let the artists just do their thing because I didn't want to correct them or anything. It took me a while to understand, OK, I got to be the one that says 'Do it like this,'" he told Rolling Stone last year. "I don't have a leader mentality. I'm learning to do that now.' Now, Kaytranada is 'trying to make Grammy-winning albums.' 'I just want to be remembered as one of the greats in terms of producing, not only dance and electronic but also just production in general,' he told Billboard. Kaytranada hits the road with Justice on a co-headlining tour across North America this fall. It all kicks off Oct. 16 in Vancouver and wraps up Nov. 16 in Miami. Before then, fans can listen to the producer featured on Teyana Taylor's forthcoming album Escape Room, due out next week.

Sean Kingston Sentenced to 42 Months in Prison for Fraud Scheme Topping $1 Million
Sean Kingston was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison Friday after he and his mother were convicted of defrauding multiple vendors of more than $1 million in luxury items ranging from high-end watches to a bulletproof Cadillac Escalade. In a filing earlier this week, the 'Beautiful Girls' singer pleaded with the judge to spare him any time behind bars. Kingston, 35, urged the judge to reject the five-to-six years in federal detention recommended by probation officials and sentence him to home detention along with an order to pay restitution. More from Rolling Stone Judge Slashes Sara Rivers' Lawsuit Against Sean Combs Priscilla Presley Sued for $50 Million by Partners She Accused of Elder Abuse Kid Cudi Declined to Testify Against Diddy Twice, Then Had No Choice: 'Hated Every Minute' At the sentencing Friday, Judge David Leibowitz opted to go between the probation recommendation and defense request, handing down his sentence of 42 months in prison and three years of supervised release. The judge set a restitution hearing for Oct. 16. 'We are content that the court did not go with the government's request of five years and sentenced Sean below the sentencing guidelines instead,' Kingston's lawyer Zeljka Bozanic said in a statement sent to Rolling Stone. 'It is important to note that most of the restitution in this case was paid back, even before these charges were brought. Sean is taking this as a learning experience and will continue moving forward in a positive direction. We are actively reviewing all available options, including potential appeals, to ensure his rights are fully protected.' Kingston, whose legal name is Kisean Anderson, argued in a Monday court filing that leniency was warranted in his case because he had accepted responsibility for his actions, his crimes were non-violent, and several family members depend on him financially. He also cited his history of charitable work. 'Mr. Anderson is deeply remorseful for his conduct and involvement in this scheme and has had time to step back and reflect on his actions and how to make amends,' the filing said. 'Mr. Anderson accepted responsibility in this case and has made all the positive steps toward learning and growing from this situation.' At a separate hearing last month, Kingston's mother, Janice Turner, was sentenced to five years in prison and three years of probation. Turner apologized to the court for her conduct. 'I'm sorry. My intention was to keep my son afloat in this difficult industry,' she said. 'They used him and abused him. I am begging for mercy for me and my son.' Kingston and his mother were indicted last year on charges they engaged in a wire fraud scheme between April 2023 and March 2024. Prosecutors said Anderson reached out to his victims online and negotiated the purchase of high-end merchandise such as the Escalade, jewelry, and a massive, 232-inch LED TV. Officials said Anderson would invite the victims to his high-end homes in the Broward County area and use his celebrity status to lull them into trusting him. When payment was due for the merchandise, Anderson or his mother would text the victims fake wire receipts, according to court filings. When the funds never materialized, the victims filed lawsuits or turned to law enforcement. A jury convicted the mother-son duo after less than four hours of deliberations on March 28. According to Florida outlet Local10, Turner was immediately remanded to federal custody as Anderson cried out, 'Protect my mother.' Kingston burst onto the music scene at age 17 in 2007 when his monster hit 'Beautiful Girls' – a reggae-infused pop single that sampled the 1961 song 'Stand by Me' by Ben E. King – hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100. Best of Rolling Stone Sly and the Family Stone: 20 Essential Songs The 50 Greatest Eminem Songs All 274 of Taylor Swift's Songs, Ranked
