Mercedes-Benz Egypt Hosts Exclusive F1® Movie Premiere in ScreenX

Economic Key27-06-2025
Mercedes-Benz Egypt brought together VIP customers, fans of the brand, partners, media guests, and motorsport enthusiasts for an exclusive Red Carpet movie premiere night of the highly anticipated F1® The Movie at Scene Cinemas, debuting in its exclusive ScreenX hall by Scene Cinema at Cairo Festival City Mall. This special event is a part of the global co-promotion campaign between Mercedes-AMG and Apple Original Films, celebrating the cinematic debut of one of the year's most exciting racing blockbusters.
Filmed at actual Formula 1® races around the world, the film will deliver authentic racing action combined with equally compelling characters and a powerful story. As an official promotional partner of Apple Original Films and Warner Bros. Pictures, MercedesAMG supported the film crew with F1® team know-how as well as performance vehicles and sports-car models from its current portfolio. Off the racetrack, an SL, a G-class and a GT are featured on screen. The MercedesAMG Official FIA F1® Safety Car and Medical Car were also provided for use in the movie, in action. A global co-promotion campaign in AMG's core markets supporting the movie's release will round off the partnership.
Before the screening, Stefanie Volz, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Egypt, welcomed guests with opening remarks, saying:
'We're incredibly proud to be hosting Egypt's first-ever movie premiere at the newly launched ScreenX by Scene Cinema, offering a viewing experience that mirrors the adrenaline and intensity of Formula 1. The F1 film is a tribute to passion, performance, and authenticity—filmed at actual Grand Prix events and brought to life with Mercedes-AMG's performance vehicles and motorsport expertise. I would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Scene Cinemas for introducing this exceptional format to Egypt and Africa for the first time, and to United Motion Pictures for their valued support as the sole theatrical distributor of Warner Bros. in Egypt.
The event started with red carpet moments for the VIP guests, along with a special display for the latest Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Coupé at the entrance, followed by a hospitality & cocktail reception in the cinema VIP area. It is worth mentioning that this is the first-ever movie premiere in Egypt to be held in the ScreenX format, delivering an immersive panoramic viewing experience that brought the high-stakes world of Formula 1® to life, across three walls of cinema.

"Dune 3" Gets Title, Will Be Shot in Imax

Yara Sameh Denis Villeneuve's upcoming return to Arrakis is titled 'Dune: Part Three.' Reports had called the threequel 'Dune Messiah,' a nod to the 1969 book from Frank Herbert that the entry will adapt as its storyline, following Paul 'Muad'Dib' Atreides as he takes over as emperor. On Rentrak, the film is listed as 'Dune: Part Three.' The installment will also include sequences shot with Imax cameras. However, 'Dune: Part Three' will not be entirely shot with Imax cameras, following in the footsteps of Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey,' which is the first and so far only film to be produced that way. In an interview on CNBC, Imax CEO Richard Gelfond seemed to suggest that the next 'Dune' would be filmed entirely with the company's proprietary cameras, but it appears he misspoke. At the end of the interview, Gelfond was asked about Villeneuve being hired by Amazon MGM Studios to direct their reboot of the James Bond franchise. The exec's response also touched on the director's plans for 'Dune: Part Three' at Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment, which will film before the 007 revival. 'From a personal point of view, I was really happy. I like him. I think he's a genius filmmaker,' Gelfond said about the Bond hiring. 'He's so creative. He's making the next 'Dune' — with Imax cameras, he's filming the whole thing. So we haven't started talking yet, but I'm praying that that's the case with Bond.' Gelfond also touted Imax's success through the year's summer blockbuster season, citing that 'F1' earned 23% of its opening weekend grosses in Imax auditoriums. Meanwhile, 'Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning' did 20% in Imax its first two weeks. 'Think of 20% of the box office, when we're less than 1% of the screens. The public is really demanding it,' Gelfond added. Production on 'Dune: Part Three' is set to begin imminently, with Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya reprising their roles. Jason Momoa has also confirmed he will return for 'Part Three,' after featuring in the first 'Dune' but not appearing in 'Part Two.' Last year, Villeneuve spoke about the film and said the next 'Dune' installment 'will not be the completion of a trilogy' in his eyes. 'First, it's important that people understand that for me, it was really a diptych,' Villeneuve said of the first two 'Dune' movies. 'It was really a pair of movies that will be the adaptation of the first book. That's done and that's finished. If I do a third one, which is in the writing process, it's not like a trilogy. It's strange to say that, but if I go back there, it's to do something that feels different and has its own identity.' In a recent Variety interview, Bruce Markoe, senior vice president and head of post-production at Imax, explained what a movie being 'shot with Imax' means for audiences and filmmakers. 'Those movies that were shot with our film cameras receive that kind of nomenclature. Those are different than the 'Filmed for Imax' movies, which are all shot with digital cameras. However, a lot of the same kind of process takes place in the making of the movie when they're shooting with our film cameras,' Markoe said. 'Those movies still do a lot of testing and reviews, and filmmakers work very closely with us throughout the entire production, since it's our camera on set, whereas the 'Filmed for Imax' program is using certified digital cameras that are not necessarily unique to us.' 'Dune: Part Three' is expected to arrive in theaters in December 2026. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean

Formula One: Verstappen refuses to be drawn on future ahead of British GP - Omni sports

Max Verstappen on Thursday refused to be drawn on questions about discussions with Mercedes and exit clauses in his Red Bull contract when he spoke to reporters ahead of this weekend's British Grand Prix. Facing a succession of questions about his future, following reports in Italy that he had agreed to join Mercedes next year, the Dutchman was polite, but evasive in his answers, stressing that for him it would be ideal to complete his career with one team –- Red Bull. "I am happy where I am," he said. "There are always rumours, but only one who decides and that is me and the team. I control my own destiny and I am happy and in control of where I'm at." Sky Sport Italia on Wednesday reported that he had agreed to join Mercedes, sparking speculation that he was set to replace arch-rival George Russell, but the Briton earlier stated he was confident of keeping his seat. He said he expected to confirm his new contract with Mercedes -- the team believed to be best prepared for the regulation changes next year -- within a few weeks. "I've nothing to add to last week," said Verstappen. "Of course, other people write stuff and that's great but it's not me… Happy with my team? In life, you can always see other things and think, as they say, the grass is greener on the other side. "But I think it is best to stay calm and up to now we have had success except for some time this season and this can happen and you have to accept it. "I know what I have and what we can do and that's fine, but, to be honest, I have nothing to add to last week. I am focussed on the team and to improve." One-team man Asked if he felt he needed to be in the fastest car to win races and titles, Verstappen said it is "difficult in F1 to be in the fastest car… Who would know that two years ago who will be fastest? "I don't focus much on it, I just try to improve my own situation and where we want to be next year. If you chase the fastest car now it may not be the fastest car next year. Sometimes you can luck in and then win four, or five or six titles..." The 27-year-old shared that being a one-team man was an interesting prospect for him, while stating that he had never been tempted to leave Austrian constructor Red Bull. "I'm gonna say no…" he said on the questioning of ever having felt tempted to take a seat elsewhere in the paddock. "I don't want more headlines. It would be ideal to finish my career at Red Bull with one team. That would be something amazing and I am still trying to achieve that. "We are fighting for podiums now and that's not too bad!" Reports suggested Verstappen's contract contained exit clauses that could be activated if he is not in the top three in the drivers championship at the end of July. But the four-time world champion bluntly refused to reveal any details about his deal with Red Bull. "To be honest, I am not speaking about my contract. It's easier like that," he said.
