'Maareesan' release date: Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu starrer to release on THIS date
The makers of 'Maareesan', starring Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu, have officially announced its theatrical release date, which is on July 25, 2025. Directed by Sudheesh Sankar, the film marks the duo's return after their memorable collaboration in Mari Selvaraj's critically acclaimed 'Maamannan' (2023).
The makers recently shared the release date for the Fahadh Faasil starrer by unveiling a new poster featuring him and Vadivelu. The poster was shared with the caption, "Get ready for the ultimate face off! #Maareesan hitting theatres this July 25th 2025 !!! #MaareesanFromJuly25th."
A promising road thriller
The teaser hints at a feel-good road movie that turns into a gripping thriller. Set to the classic tune Aaha Inba Nilaavinile from Mayabazar (1957), the teaser shows Fahadh and Vadivelu on a journey through varied landscapes, before the tone takes a darker shift.

'Maareesan' is Sudheesh Sankar's second Tamil directorial after 'Aarumaname' (2009), though he is better known for his Malayalam projects like Villali Veeran. The film also stars Vivek Prasanna, PL Thenappan, Kovai Sarala, Sithara, Livingston, Saravana Subbiah, Renuka, Krishna, Telephone Raja, and Haritha in supporting roles.

In a recent interview, she reflected on her experience working with Khushi Kapoor and addressed the comparisons that followed their debut.
