Chelsea line up future move for Brighton star as transfer deal is agreed
The 21-year-old had been tipped for big things after announcing himself to Premier League fans with a Puskas Award-nominated strike against Manchester City to help Brighton secure a place in the 2023/24 Europa League.
But Enciso struggled to nail down a starting spot on the south coast and spent the second half of last season on loan at Ipswich, where he racked up two goals and three assists in 13 appearances.
Following Ipswich's relegation into the Championship, Enciso made it clear he was keen to explore possible opportunities away from the Amex Stadium, with regular first-team minutes seen as an absolute priority.
According to The Athletic, BlueCo have now agreed personal terms with Enciso's camp and the Paraguay international is expected to join up with Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg imminently.
However, the report claims Enciso is 'viewed as a long-term Chelsea player' by Todd Boehly's BlueCo consortium, who completed a takeover of the west London giants in 2022.
After assuming control of Strasbourg 12 months later, Boehly spoke about the multi-club model providing a route for young talent to force their way into the reckoning at Chelsea.

Enciso will no doubt be desperate to make an impression in French football with Strasbourg, managed by Liam Rosenior, but the youngster first has to work his way back from knee surgery – which has kept him sidelined since May.
The injury meant Enciso did not feature in Brighton's pre-season plans or in the side's 1-1 draw with Fulham last weekend.

Brighton's hierarchy had been in agreement that Enciso would be surplus to requirements for the new season, with Fabian Hurzeler well stocked in midfield.
Enciso had just 12 months remaining on his contract with the Seagulls.
Speaking to ABC Paraguay in May, Enciso revealed that he was keen to enjoy the summer with his loved ones before determining his future.
'I'll think about what I'm going to do later,' Enciso said at the time.
'I don't know yet what I will do.
'I want to enjoy time with my family and then I'll think about what I'm going to do.'

Aberdeen produced a stirring fightback for a draw against FCSB just as it seemed that Scottish football's week was going to go from bad to bleak. With Celtic and Rangers both having struggled in their respective Champions League play-offs, it was the Dons and Hibs' turn - with the Easter Road club losing 2-1 to Legia Warsaw in their Conference League play-off. The Pittodrie club were two goals down at the start of the second half in their Europa League clash but a raft of substitutions from Jimmy Thelin turned the tie against the Romanians on its head. It had looked to be slipping away from the Scottish Cup winners when the Romanian champions went ahead in the 32nd minute and then overcame the dismissal of Juri Cisotti soon afterwards to double their lead in the first minute of the second half. However, goals from substitutes Dante Polvara and Ester Sokler in the closing half-hour brought the Dons level and ensured there is all to play for in the second leg in Bucharest next Thursday. It was Thelin's first European match in charge of the Dons and now he wants more in Romania after praising a packed Pittodrie. He said: 'It's going to be a totally different game, they're at home, but I am optimistic. The tie is alive. 'We have given ourselves a chance and that's the most important thing after being two goals down. Our fans were the difference - they have given us a chance for the second game. 'I was really proud of that, how we created this atmosphere because it's difficult when you are two down and the way they'd scored the goals. 'In that way I am really proud of the players and the supporters. It has given us a chance. 'They used the situations with top quality, they didn't miss, but we can't give them these chances in the game. 'We learned a lot about ourselves, we have one week to prepare and bring a much better, more stable performance. We created a lot of chances, but we have to be more consistent within the game. 'Dante's goal was top level and Ester's with his working capacity plus the goal was important for us. He said: 'I don't know exactly what happened but things have to be solved easier. 'We cannot ask for visas five or six days before and have no results because players are not available. 'People have to find solutions, not us, the people who are responsible - UEFA. 'The players came here to play. Everything happens for a reason. The players made this travel and if we knew they would not play they would have stayed to train. 'The game in Bucharest is 50-50 as Aberdeen have quality.'

Enzo Maresca hopes Chelsea can improve their conversion rate to aid title hopes
The Blues have spent around £160million on attacking players, all of whom played some part in Sunday's lacklustre 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge. Their tally of 64 league goals was beaten by Brighton and Brentford and matched by 17th-place Tottenham, whilst champions Liverpool outscored Maresca's team by 22. 'I don't know if we (now) have more capacity (to score), but for sure if we've made changes it's because we think that with changes we could improve out attacking phase,' said Maresca. 'I was quite happy last year in terms goals we scored but with the amount of chances we created, I think we were one of the best in the league.' Strikers Liam Delap and Joao Pedro have been brought in to try and revitalise an attack which relied too heavily on goals from defence and midfield during the last campaign, though both players struggled to make an impact in the draw with Palace. Nicolas Jackson was the team's only senior striker last season but suffered a goal drought which lasted almost five months between December and May, whilst teenager Marc Guiu failed to score in the league. Both players also spent significant time out injured. Neither is set to play a role at Stamford Bridge this season with Jackson having been told he can leave and Guiu currently on loan at Sunderland. 'Hopefully also this season we can be a bit more lucky in terms injury,' said Maresca. 'Don't forget last season we lost Nico and Guiu. But if we are able to create the same volume (of chances) that we created last year I'm quite happy. 'Hopefully this season we can be more clinical when we need to be.' Maresca reiterated the club's position on Jackson, who scored just 10 league goals last season, and has been made surplus to requirements following the arrivals of Delap and Pedro. The 24-year-old, who was suspended for the draw with Palace, will not play in Friday's trip to West Ham and has drawn interested from Newcastle, who are waiting for a resolution to their stand-off with Alexander Isak before deciding whether to move. 'We've brought two strikers,' said Maresca. 'The player (Jackson) is open to leave. If there is any good solution, he is going to leave. 'It's very easy. It's not complicated. I've said already that Nico is a very good player. He can be even better.' On the new arrivals, the Italian added: 'Pedro probably in the small space gives us more than Liam. Liam probably gives us a bit more in terms of physicality and runs in behind. It depends on the gameplan. 'On Sunday it was difficult for any striker, but both are good and both are going to score goals.' Chelsea have accepted a £26million offer from Villarreal for defender Renato Veiga, the PA news agency understands. The Portugal left-back's departure would take Chelsea's total player sales this summer to over £250m. The Blues are poised to make a hefty profit on the 22-year-old having paid £12m for him when he arrived from Basel in July 2024. Veiga, who signed a seven-year contract with Chelsea, made just one Premier League start for them last season and six appearances off the bench. He spent the second half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Juventus, making 12 starts in Serie A. Chelsea have so far sold 10 players this summer and should Veiga complete his move, they will have recouped around £252m from 11 departures to offset the £277m they have spent on nine new players.
