Jessie J shares emotional update after cancer battle: ‘Boobs still aren't even', ‘my perspective has changed'
The singer underwent a mastectomy and breast reconstruction earlier this year after being diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.
In her latest Instagram videos, Jessie J told followers she's been struggling with hair loss since the operations.
'My hair has been falling out like crazy since the surgery,' she said in a video shared with fans.
'Five weeks today since my surgery and I'm feeling okay.'
Speaking in the video while doing her hair and makeup, Jessie J also explained her breasts remain uneven post-surgery and pointed to ongoing discomfort on her right side.
'My boobs still aren't even,' she said.
'This is the implant, it's still so sore.'Addressing her other breast gently she said, 'this one is old, oh no you aren't old
She brought her audience along on her journey by also sharing a series of personal hospital photos taken during her recovery in June, 2025.
She captioned the post: 'Blood warning! This post is some of the honest lows and highs of the last 48 hours. I will always show the good and hard bits of any journey I go through. Grateful to my doctor/surgeon and all the nurses who cared for me and all my family/friends who came to visit,' she said.'Still hugging everyone going through something tough right now. We all got this!'
Jessie J reflected on her emotional experience in a recent interview with the
Sunday Times
, saying she wished she'd had more of a chance to 'say goodbye' to her right breast before the mastectomy, describing how she 'broke down in tears' after seeing her scars: 'I can't believe this has happened.'
Despite managing other health conditions, including Meniere's disease and obsessive-compulsive disorder, the pop star returned to the stage at Wembley for a major show just days before her surgery, telling the audience it was her 'last show before I go beat breast cancer.'
Jessie J, who's been a fixture on the charts for over a decade, said her new single 'No Secrets' reflects on the impact of personal struggles, loss, and fame. She's now focused on balancing her health, family, and career as she navigates this new chapter.
'I'm just trying to figure out what the next six months is going to look like,' she said.
'I know that it has to change and I can't do everything that I was supposed to be doing but I just want to be able to make it work as best I can for everybody. Me. Sky. My fans. My perspective on everything has changed so much.'

Darius Campbell Danesh' ex-wife, Natasha Henstridge, has paid tribute to the late singer on the third anniversary of his death. The former Pop Idol contestant passed away at the age of 41 in August 2022 after inhaling chloroethane - also known as ethyl chloride - at his Minnesota apartment. I think he used (chloroethane) because he was in so much pain and he didn't want to take pills, not even aspirin. That's what killed him — the substance mixed with his heart and he couldn't take it." Lauren went on to add that Darius - who shot to fame when he gave a memorable rendition of Britney Spears' hit '...Baby One More Time' on the ITV talent show Popstars before releasing a string of hit singles and eventually going on to star in the West End - had sustained his injuries whilst racing with Hollywood actor Gerard Butler and always "refused" when she urged him to see a doctor. She added: "He was with Gerry (Butler) in Monaco for the Grand Prix and they slammed into a wall during a race with the Prince of Monaco. I don't think it ever fully healed and then he rebroke it because he got hit by a car in London a year or two before he died when he was riding a bike. "And then he got into a car accident with his dad in Scotland. D was in the passenger seat, his dad was driving and someone drove into them. "He was always in pain and I would beg him to see the doctor, but he refused. He was trying to find a natural remedy.'

Bindi Irwin gives emotional health update after endometriosis surgery
Bindi Irwin has had her appendix and '51 endometriosis lesions' removed. The 27-year-old Australian star — the daughter of late Crocodile Hunter legend Steve Irwin — has given an update amid her long battle with endometriosis following her diagnosis in 2023, which came after a decade of chronic pain. She wrote on Instagram this week alongside a smiling selfie: '13 years of fighting for answers. '51 endometriosis lesions, a chocolate cyst, and my appendix were all removed across two surgeries with @seckinmd. 'My hernia from giving birth that was unzipping — was taken care of. 'I can FINALLY say that I'm feeling better. Genuinely healing.' Endometriosis is a disease where abnormal tissue grows outside the uterus. Irwin underwent emergency surgery in May, which meant she missed a gala honouring her father, who died in 2006. Now, she added that after her health struggles — which she's been very candid about with fans — she's finally able to 'function' again. 'I cannot express the gravity of my emotions as I am beginning to recognise myself again. 'I felt utterly ashamed as a teenager and young adult being told that my pain was just part of being a woman.
