Deadly crash on Brookneal Highway kills man from Gladys

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Virginia State Police have reported a man from Gladys was killed during a three-vehicle crash that occurred in Campbell County on February 5.
According to VSP, around 5:04 p.m. on Wednesday, a 2008 Ford SRW Super Duty truck was in the north lane of Brookneal Highway when it attempted to turn left into a driveway. The Ford was then hit from behind by a 2019 Nissan Frontier, driven by 55-year-old William W. Shelley IV of Gladys.

Shelley's vehicle then crossed the center line and hit a 2012 Dodge Ram 4500.
Shelley was taken to the hospital and later died from his injuries. Police said he was not wearing his seatbelt.
The drivers of the other two vehicles were both wearing their seatbelts and not injured, according to VSP.
The crash remains under investigation.

Winkelhake was arrested on numerous charges, including: First-degree rape Third-degree sex abuseFirst-degree encouraging child sex abuseLuring a minor It's believed Winkelhake may have more victims, deputies said. He is 6 feet, 3 inches tall; weighs 200 pounds; and has red hair and blue eyes. He goes by the names Jeff, Don Jon and Marc, and he has two vehicles: a white 2019 Nissan Frontier and a black 2002 Volkswagen Golf. Winkelhake is believed to have multiple social media accounts on AntiLand, Facebook and Instagram. AntiLand is an anonymous chat room.
