As the country accelerates its path toward a more sustainable future, Yalla Green Mobility aims to inspire change by promoting awareness, community engagement, and eco-innovation. From hands-on experiences with next-generation mobility solutions to community-driven green efforts, the initiative seeks to connect people with the evolving landscape of sustainable living.
As part of the program, YGM will explore a variety of activations — including events that showcase the potential of electric and hybrid mobility, creative media series highlighting sustainability champions, and interactive campaigns promoting environmental awareness across digital and physical spaces.
Educational and corporate partnerships will play a crucial role in extending the reach of the initiative. Institutions, government entities, and forward-thinking brands will be engaged in efforts to strengthen green values across generations.
'We believe media is not just a mirror to society, but a driver of meaningful transformation,' said Barbie Nuki, Founder & CEO of Yalla TV and Director & Founder of Yalla Green Mobility. 'With Yalla Green Mobility, we are not only reaffirming our commitment to the UAE's Net Zero 2050 initiative but also bringing the conversation around sustainability into everyday lives — through experience, education, and empowerment.'
Yalla TV envisions YGM as more than just a campaign — it is a movement. A movement that invites everyone, from government leaders to school children, from multinational brands to individual citizens, to participate in creating a greener tomorrow.
As the UAE forges ahead with its sustainability agenda, Yalla Green Mobility stands ready to serve as a platform where ideas take shape, collaborations thrive, and every small action contributes to a collective impact.

Dubai: Mega car fair to let visitors test drive over 70 EVs from 20 global brands
Dubai is set to host one of the largest electric car experiences in the region, with over 70 electric vehicles (EVs) from more than 20 global brands available for test drives at the Yalla Green Mobility Show. The event, taking place at Dubai Autodrome on November 23 this year, raises awareness of green mobility in the UAE. From speed testing to simulators Visitors will have the chance to test drive the latest EVs and experience what clean, sustainable driving feels like, right on the track. According to organisers, each brand will showcase three to five different models, and registered participants can drive any number of cars throughout the day. Every test drive will last about 15 minutes, with over 500 test drives expected to take place during the event. 'There will be simulators, speed testing, and a chance to check out all the car features,' said Aakash Pandey, COO of Yalla Green Mobility. 'We are expecting over 3,000 visitors, and it's going to be a full day of driving, learning, and fun. The idea is to promote sustainability in mobility and encourage people to try clean driving options.' Organisers are aiming to set a world record for the largest sustainable test drive in a single day, with more than 500 electric vehicles taking to the track. According to Sal Jafar, CEO of Aerospace and ESG MENA, the electric vehicle market in the UAE is expanding rapidly. 'There are currently 200,000 EVs on UAE roads. Last year, it was around 139,000. By the end of 2029, that number is expected to hit half a million,' he said. 'The UAE is well-prepared to handle that growth. Our EV infrastructure is already above global standards and is only getting better,' added Sal. He added that EVs can also be easier on the wallet. 'A motorist can save around Dh1,500 in fuel and maintenance, since electric cars don't need petrol or regular oil changes,' he said. 'Raising awareness like this is great, not just for individuals, but for the environment too.' How to register Entry to the test drive area will require pre-registration, and participants will receive a time slot for their driving experience. Registration details and tickets will be available soon via online channels. Chinese car manufacturer introduces EV brand to Ethiopian market
Addis Ababa: Chinese automaker Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd (GAC Group) has introduced two of its electric vehicle (EV) models to the Ethiopian market, marking the Chinese car brand's entry into the East African country. The company unveiled its AION Y and ES9 models on Saturday at a launch event in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. Addressing the event, Zeleke Temesgen, commissioner of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, said the government has taken bold measures to encourage the adoption of EVs to accelerate the country's transition to electric mobility. "The Ethiopian government has already banned the production, import, and assembly of gas-powered cars, so Ethiopia would be an ideal market for reputable companies like GAC Group," said Temesgen. Appreciating GAC Group's commitment to launching its EV brand in Ethiopia, the commissioner called on the company to set up a manufacturing plant so as to take advantage of favorable investment and massive market opportunities, and accelerate Ethiopia's green mobility. Bareo Hassen, Ethiopian state minister of transport and logistics, said the government aspires to achieve green mobility "in the shortest time possible" with the goal of conserving energy and supporting the national economy. As part of the government's push for a transition to electric mobility, more than 100,000 EVs are currently on the road across Ethiopia, which aims to have up to 500,000 EVs in the next 10 years, replacing the majority of cars powered by fossil fuels. Ethiopia is also working to expand EV production and the installation of public charging stations, and offering support and various incentives to private investors, such as free or leased land for investors in EV after-sales services, according to the Ministry of Transport and Logistics. Wei Haigang, president of GAC International, said the company, through its partner Huajian Group, will sell electric vehicles, establish charging infrastructure, and initiate local assembly operations in Ethiopia. Noting Ethiopia's high potential for the EV market, Wei said GAC Group will engage in EV production in the future to tap into the huge market and support the country's transition to electric mobility. © Dar Al Sharq Press, Printing and Distribution.
