Shrophire man dies in A525 crash as van driver arrested
A man has been arrested after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash.A white Vauxhall van and a Moto Morini Corsaro motorcycle crashed on the A525 Whitchurch Road, close to the junction with Rookery Lane, near Audlem, Cheshire, shortly after 08:00 BST on motorbike rider, a 42-year-old man from Whitchurch, Shropshire, was pronounced dead at the scene, Cheshire Police van's driver, a 40-year-old man from Walsall, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released on bail. Sgt Andy Dennison said it was a "tragic incident" and urged anyone who witnessed the crash to get in touch with police, along with anyone who might have dashcam footage. Appeal after car torched outside property in Paisley
Police have provided details of the incident which took place earlier this week. An investigation has been launched by Police Scotland after a car was torched in Paisley. Officers were alerted to the incident on Tuesday when concerned members of the public reported a grey Vauxhall Corsa had been set alight outside a property on Ferguslie Park Avenue. Detectives are appealing for information following the wilful fire-raising incident. It happened between the hours of 9.10pm on Monday and 8.15am on Tuesday. Detective constable Jack McElwee from Police Scotland said: 'Our enquiries are ongoing into this incident, and I am asking anyone who might have been in the area and saw something to get in touch. 'Similarly, anyone in the area with private CCTV or dash-cam footage that might have captured anything that could be useful in our investigation is urged to contact us.'
