Break ups don't always have to be a hot mess. With her latest offering 'Folded,' Kehlani isn't aiming to put her ex on blast, but rather to extend them an olive branch. A breezy R&B melody helps the singer glide through this airy song of moving on after lost love, as she asks her lover if they can come pick up their clothes. 'I have them folded,' she offers.
We love it when a plan comes together, and seeing Brockhampton frontman Kevin Abstract reunite with his old friend Dominic Fike on their new duet 'Geezer' feels like the best of plans. Over some indie guitars and a scattershot beat, the pair trade verses about finding their way to success, even when the people around them still feel stuck in the same place. It's a tender take off Abstract's upcoming new LP, and one that's only bound to make you more hype to hear the whole thing.
If you're still jamming out to Addison Rae's cult-favorite track 'Diet Pepsi' from last year, then allow us to offer you a little bit more with a slightly different vibe. Indie star Blondshell takes Rae's breakout alt-pop track and puts the emphasis back on the 'alt,' as she translates the song into a shimmering alt-rock track that sounds like it could've come off her latest album. Add in Blondshell's excellent live vocals, and you've got a killer cover on your hands.
When it comes to soundtracking modern romance, there are few people more adept that Michelle Zauner. So it's no wonder why A24 tapped the alt-rock star to pen her new Japanese Breakfast song 'My Baby (Got Nothing At All)' for their new film Materialists. Throughout this sunny slow jam, Zauner takes some light shots at the gold-diggers of the world, opting instead for a tune about how little her lover has — and how special that makes their own connection in turn.
The Yoruba word 'gbesoke' roughly translates to 'lift it up' in English — and after listening to salute's latest collaboration with Peter Xan, you'll understand why they chose to use that word as their title. With salute's top-tier dance production working overtime alongside Xan's alt-rock voice delivering commands to the listener, 'Gbesoke' easily accomplishes its goal and will have you lifting it all up as you bounce along to this banger.
What even is Pride Month without a big, campy, gay pop song to play? Thankfully, G Flip is here with just the right track for the occasion. 'Big Ol' Hammer,' the Australian star's country-meets-synth-pop magnum opus, sees them embracing their butch side as they sing about a lover that makes the 'feel like a man.' The music video only adds further context, with Flip dancing it out in a garage surrounded by fellow queers in coveralls as they declare that they're hanging 'in a tool belt, like a big ol' hammer.'

Lewis Capaldi Recalls Terrifying ‘Mental Episode' That Left Him ‘Convulsing' Backstage Mid-Concert
Lewis Capaldi has come a long way since he started working on his mental health a couple of years ago, with the Scottish singer-songwriter revealing that he once had a 'mental episode' that left him 'convulsing' backstage at a show. While guesting on the Tuesday (July 15) episode of Theo Von's This Past Weekend podcast, Capaldi reflected on the tough moments in his career that forced him to confront the fact that he needed help. The musician made headlines in 2023 when he struggled to get through his Glastonbury set that year, but shortly before that happened, he says he had an incident at a concert in Chicago that was 'even worse.' 'I was like, backstage, convulsing and having this crazy panic attack, mental episode. It was really, really bad. It was the first time people at my shows had seen it.' The musician has been open about dealing with mental health issues as well as Tourette's, a disorder that causes difficult-to-control movements and sounds known as tics. In April 2023, Capaldi revealed that his struggles with Tourette's were becoming so severe, he was considering stepping back from music. After his onstage breakdown at Glastonbury two months later, Capaldi did just that. Immediately after stepping off stage at the festival — where fans had helped him get through his set by loudly singing the words for him — the artist knew it would be his last show until he got some help, he told Von. 'When it happened and when it was happening, it was, like, the lowest moment of my life, and it was horrible,' he recalled on the podcast of Glastonbury 2023. 'I had this moment where I was on stage like two, three songs in. I was like, 'This is the last time I'm going to play a gig for a long time. I need to try and get through the rest of the show, but when I come off, I'm done.'' Capaldi is now back and better than ever before after spending the past two years reconnecting with himself, with the star telling Von that therapy and exercise have helped him immensely. This past June, he made a triumphant return to Glastonbury with a surprise set, shortly after which he announced that he'd be donating 734,000 hours of free virtual therapy with BetterHelp inspired by his own mental health journey. While speaking to Von, he gushed that this year's Glastonbury performance was a 'bit of a comeback moment.' 'It was lovely,' he added. 'It was a really special moment.' Lewis Capaldi Met Justin Bieber at a Party and Totally Thought They Were Pals Until He Texted Him the Next Day: ‘Bieber Aired Me'
Lewis Capaldi has met plenty of famous people over the years and become friendly with a few of them. But in a chat with Capital Breakfast's Chris Stark on Friday (Aug. 15), the 'Someone You Loved' singer revealed that when he met Justin Bieber at a 'swanky' Los Angeles party thrown by Kylie Jenner (he thinks) a while back he was pretty sure the JB had no idea who he was. 'And Bieber comes over to me and he's like, 'Hey man what's going on?' And I'm like 'you don't know who I am, 'you don't know my name,'' Capaldi recalled telling him. 'And he's like, 'of course I do it's Lewis Capaldi' and me and Bieber have this super night, this really lovely evening together — we didn't spend the night together, but we hang out — and me and the Biebs are going to be best pals, this is huge.' So, Capaldi dutifully texted Bieber a 'sucking up his a–' message the next day: ''just wanted to jump on Bro, and say last night was so special, great guy, so nice to hang with you, such a dude' all this stuff,' he revealed. Here's the thing. According to Capaldi, Bieber liked the message, but then never replied. 'So if you're out there Bieber, text me back!,' Capaldi said, admitting, 'Bieber aired me.' Capaldi also uncovered the true story behind the legendary 'lost' song he recorded with Calvin Harris several years ago that has never been released. While Harris had hinted in interviews that it may have gotten accidentally erased from Capaldi's hard drive, Lewis said the real story is pretty simple: he didn't like how he sounded. 'Me and Calvin have done a song together, he was in Ibiza the same time as me. I went and recorded a version of it,' Capaldi said of the unnamed track. 'He sent it to me afterwards. I avoid any conflict, avoid letting people down, I'm a people pleaser. I try and please people… This is the thing, I don't like the song. I don't like my version of the song, I should say.' Capaldi said he shared the track with some friends and they agreed with his assessment, but Lewis never reached out to Harris to tell him his feelings about the song. 'He then messages me two months later like, 'hate it?' And I grew up idolizing Calvin Harris, and to tell him I don't like his song so I just ignored that as well,' Capaldi said. 'And to this day haven't replied to him, I have seen him since, and I'd love to do a Calvin Harris song, but he has to sing on it as well.'
