Danny Dyer fights tears as he enjoys emotional first dance with daughter Dani

Daily Mirror2 days ago

Former Love Island star Dani Dyer has tied the knot with her love Jarrod Bowen - and her famous dad Danny was there to give her away before the father-daughter duo enjoyed the first dance
Dani Dyer shared a very special first dance with her famous dad before his speech as the father of the bride at the weekend. EastEnders star Danny walked his daughter Dani, 28, down the aisle so she could marry footballer Jarrod Bowen. White rose petals lined the aisle, with floral sculptures and candles creating a stunning backdrop which the bride and groom shared a kiss in front of.
And after Dani, wearing a designer Suzanne Neville dress, and Jarrod said 'I do', cheeky Danny then couldn't resist bringing a bit of football into proceedings. With mic in hand on videos shared on social media, he can be heard urging the guests to sing "Bowen's On Fire - and he's married Dani Dyer ' to the tune of pop star Gala's hit Freed from Desire.

Dani has now quickly changed her surname to Dyer-Bowen on Instagram, and is thrilled with how her big day went. On her Instagram, Dani said, "The most perfect, special day," alongside a video of herself getting married. A purpose-built glass marquee had been erected in the Buckinghamshire countryside for the event, although the ceremony itself took place outside to make the most of the sunny weather.

After the couple cut a giant white cake, a band could be seen in the background poised to begin, so everyone could get the party started with some dancing. Around 60 people are said to have attended the ceremony, which is in keeping with the down-to-earth couple who have a small circle of close friends as well as family to invite.
The video of the day appeared to show Dani's having a first dance with both her dad Danny and Jarrod before other guests joined them on the dancefloor. In a behind-the-scenes wedding reel shared to Instagram, Danny looked as though he could cry as he embraced daughter Dani on the dance floor.
In the background of the video, a rendition of Ray Charles' song Georgia On My Mind could be heard playing. After a late night partying with a live band, guests could help themselves to take away pizzas. The boxes were specially made for the day and said 'D&J that's amore' on them.
In the lead up to the wedding, Danny said: 'I have met every single boyfriend that has walked through my door - and then she brings home the West Ham captain. I have gone from the lying scum, and I hate them, to a man who I would not mind tonguing myself! A strong man. If he lent in I would put my lips on this geezer.

'He is just, as a father and joking aside, he took her on with a 14 month old son and that says a lot about a man I will tell you. He is amazing. I can't wait to give her away. What a touch. But if he was to make a move on me before…
"I think I'm in love with him, slightly. He's an incredible person. I just want someone to love my daughters the way I do. I want them to worship them and look after them. Let me tell you that. I love him.'
Jarrod joined West Ham in 2020 and has regularly been the best player on the pitch, including when he scored the winning goal to give West Ham their first trophy in 43 years during the 2023 Europa Conference League final.

Footy legend Robert DiPierdomenico reveals the real story behind viral video of him going berserk in a nightclub with famous DJ

Footy icon Robert DiPierdomenico has opened up about what happened on the night he was filmed dancing like a much younger man in a nightclub clip that has gone viral among AFL fans. The footage shows the 67-year-old tearing up the dance floor with his shirt unbuttoned halfway to his navel as he's filmed by other revellers before he hugs the DJ who's performing at the venue. Footy supporters have gone wild for the footage, leaving comments like 'this video is so iconic', 'this is 10/10' and 'the man is a national treasure'. Now the five-time premiership champion and Brownlow Medal winner has revealed what prompted the wild video, which featured famous Aussie DJ Dom Dolla spinning the decks at one of Greece's most famous islands. 'I was in Mykonos, Dom was playing in Mykonos and found out I was there,' DiPierdomenico explained. 'He asked me to come and play.' AFL icon Robert DiPierdomenico has revealed what happened on the night he was filmed dancing with a famous Aussie DJ in a Greek club (pictured) The 67-year-old (pictured left) was called a 'national treasure' as footy fans lapped up the wild footage of his big night out A quick look at Instagram shows he and his girlfriend Rebecca visited the famous European holiday destination in August last year, with the footy great's partner referring to 'vibrant parties that never end' during their vacation. 'Dipper' is famed for his exuberant personality and has previously talked about how he and his Hawthorn teammates would party in nightclubs until 2am during his playing days. However, life hasn't been too kind to the Hawthorn great in recent times. In January this year his son Dylan was jailed after admitting to 71 instances of fraud as he stole more than $140,000 from a former employer to fund his gambling addiction. During Dylan's case the court heard that his father played down the crime by saying 'it was just money'. DiPierdomenico - who split from his wife Cheryl in 2021 - has also suffered from serious health problems in recent years. A urinary problem that required surgery saw him visiting the bathroom up to 40 times a day and even forced him to wear adult nappies. DiPierdomenico revealed top DJ Dom Dolla (pictured) found out he was holidaying on the Greek island of Mykonos and asked him to come to his show 'Dipper' won five premierships and the Brownlow Medal during his time with Hawthorn 'I was going to the bathroom maybe four or five times and then it went to 10 or 12 times and then 30 or 40 and I did nothing about it,' he admitted in 2023. 'And then, of course, the pain started to come and then I had my operation and now I am 95 per cent back to where I was. 'Incontinence is a big thing in Australia, so I thought I'd put my hand up and let you know that I'm one of those 1.5 million men who suffer from it, but through a few exercises, I'm back - I'm back big-time.' In February this year DiPierdomenico opened up about another health problem that caused him severe pain, even compared to the long list of serious injuries he suffered during his 240-game career. 'Compared to the pain of many of my sporting injuries, shingles was relentless. It put me out of action for nine days,' he said. 'It was horrible to experience personally, and I know some of my loved ones, like my partner and my mum, have also experienced the pain and discomfort of shingles.' Dipper remains heavily involved with Hawthorn and appeared at a club fundraiser alongside fellow team legends Peter Knights and Peter Hudson last week.

EXCLUSIVE Maren Morris celebrates major milestone after coming out and calling out 'toxic' country music community

Maren Morris has celebrated her first-ever Pride since officially coming out as bisexual. In video obtained exclusively by Morris rejoices over the milestone during her performance at Outloud Music Festival last week. 'My name is Maren Morris, and this is my first Pride!' she declares, sparking rapturous cheer from the crowd. Morris, 35, came out as bisexual last June, announcing to Instagram followers that she was 'Happy to be the B in LGBTQ +, happy pride!' On Friday, the country singer was one of the headliners kicking off Pride Month at Outloud Festival, an LGBTQ+ music festival held in the heart of West Hollywood. Morris continued to revel in the moment with behind-the-scenes snaps from her epic show. 'performing at my first Pride since I came out last summer and @wehopride couldn't have been a more welcoming party. happy Pride month,' she captioned the Instagram post, uploaded over the weekend. Fans praised Morris in the comments, with one thanking her for leaving a positive impact on their family. 'Thank you for making my kiddo feel comfortable in their true selves,' one posted. 'I didn't know you came out! Loved you before & love you now even more!' another wrote. 'Welcome to the fam!!' another gushed. Lance Bass chimed in as well: 'Loved it!' he raved. Morris was previously married to fellow country crooner Ryan Hurd, and they share five-year-old son Hayes Andrew Hurd together. The Girl singer recently said she 'always knew' she was attracted to both men and women but held back from ever going public with it. 'I've always known that I am attracted to men and women,' she told The Zoe Report last month. 'I think because I've been in straight relationships the last 15 years of my life, which has been consumed by my music career and living in Nashville, I never felt brave enough to talk about it.' In June 2024, however, she finally overcame that fear. 'That was just a facet of me that I didn't think I wanted private anymore. I wanted to be able to connect with my fans and my queer community,' she said. 'Especially in a time where you're in this free-for-all post-divorce reckoning, community has been so necessary for me and life-saving. Being honest and being vulnerable is the only way that you find community.' Maren's personal revelation comes over a year after she declared she was leaving the 'toxic' world of country music. The Middle singer told the New York Times' Popcast podcast back in September 2023 she felt 'like l have to absorb and explain people's bad behaviors and laugh it off.' Morris recently said she 'always knew' she was attracted to both men and women but held herself back from ever going public with it The hitmaker added, 'I just couldn't do that after 2020 particularly. I've changed. A lot of things changed about me that year.' 'I don't want to say goodbye, but I really cannot participate in the really toxic arms of this institution anymore,' she said. She also told the Los Angeles Times: 'I thought I'd like to burn it to the ground and start over. But it's burning itself down without my help.' But Maren has since clarified she 'never said she was leaving country music' in a recent interview with The Guardian. Maren called the headline of the LA Times article - which was titled 'Maren Morris is getting the hell out of country music: "I've said everything I can say"' - 'really unfortunate.' 'I never said I'm leaving country music, because that's not really how I feel at all,' she calmly told the publication. 'You hear country music on this album. You can't just intentionally take the parts away. There would be nothing left of the sound of me. Because it's just there. It's in my bones and it's in the way I write. She said the article 'caused a ton of unnecessary drama for me from that community because I was already sort of on the outs. I'm not backtracking what I said, I just never said that.' The singer, who has been a Nashville resident for 12 years, added 'it's not going to be some tussle that's going to make me change my address.' Though she moved label divisions, no longer does the country radio circuit, and doesn't submit her music to the Country Music Awards or the Academy of Country Music Awards, the singer still works with all the same people. 'It would be strange to be like: "This music isn't me anymore,"' she explained. 'That makes me feel like I'm shitting on the music I've already put out, and that's not how I feel at all 'The fans that I've made and the communities those fans have made through being a fan of my music is so important to me,' she added, 'so to ever come out of my mouth saying: "I'm leaving you behind" – I'd never be so reckless and stupid.' Regarding her new album Dreamsicle, the singer said: 'If you dive deep enough, or if you just listen to the album, it's very clear that I haven't left anything behind.'

Love Island star's secret connection to previous finalist is revealed ahead of their arrival in the villa

Love Island has confirmed the full line-up of contestants set to enter the villa for the 12th series on June 9, for another season of love triangles, bedroom trysts and messy breakups. After joining the popular dating series in January 2023, Maya Jama will once again be at the helm, as the ITV2 show celebrates a decade on screens and promises to have 'more twists and turns than ever before' in honour of the anniversary. This year's crop of hopefuls include a Declan Rice body double, a firebreather and a Maura Higgins lookalike. But one of the new Islanders may have an edge on his fellow castmates, as he boasts a connection to a previous finalist. According to The Sun, Dejon Noel-Williams is pals with 2023 star Tyrique Hyde, who made it all the way to the final with then-girlfriend Ella Thomas. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Dejon, who plays football semi-professionally alongside his job as a personal trainer, is also the son of former Premier League striker Gifton. Ex-Watford and Stoke striker Gifton, 45, began his professional football career in 1996 and last played for Codicote in 2017 before retiring. And during his time at Watford from 1996 to 2003, he was teammates with none other than Micah Hyde, who is the father of Tyrique. The two stars played together at the club and looked to have been good friends, with their sons Dejon and Tyrique being the same age. The two boys also both followed in their fathers' footsteps by becoming footballers themselves. And in his role as a personal trainer, Dejon also counts Tyrique as one of his clients, with the duo often sharing videos of them working out at the gym together. Ahead of his villa entrance, Dejon revealed that he 'met all kinds of famous people' because of his footballing father and even remarked on a meeting with David Beckham. He said: 'When I was younger it was weird because he was just my dad, but we'd go to a game and fans were asking for photos. I've met David Beckham, he was really nice.' Dejon, from London, boasts 11,000 followers on social media thanks in part to his regular shirtless gym snaps and in 2021, represented the Grenada national football team. His bio reads: 'I go beyond the gym -helping you build Strength, Confidence & Discipline for life.' Asked what he was looking for in a girl in the villa, he said he wanted someone who 'is beautiful on the inside and out, looks after themselves and is healthy'. Tyrique shot to fame on the 2023 series with his romance with Ella being heavily tested with some dramatic ups and downs. They exited the villa together, but shortly after announced they'd split in November 2023, before trying to give it another go. But, in February 2024, MailOnline exclusively revealed Ella and Tyrique had parted ways permanently - after six months as a couple. A source told MailOnline: 'Ella and Tyrique have decided it's time to go their separate ways. 'They have such love for each other, but they often struggle to get along and as viewers saw in the villa, they're always arguing.' Tyrique and Ella exited the villa together, but shortly after announced they'd split in November 2023, before trying to give it another go, before parting ways permanently in February last year (pictured in September 2023) Meanwhile, Dejon is not the only footballing connection in the upcoming series, as fans of the lower leagues may have spotted a star dubbed 'The Surrey Zidane'. Harry Cooksley, 29, is a midfielder for Southern League Premier South side Farnham Town, while also working as a gold trader and model. But more interestingly, his pastimes include being a body double for Arsenal and England star Declan Rice. Harry revealed: 'So when he does a shoot, any body close ups will actually be me.
