‘Vanderpump Rules' EP Alex Baskin Addresses Fan ‘Skepticism' of Season 12 Reboot
Vanderpump Rules fans should go into season 12 with an open mind, according to show executive producer Alex Baskin.
'I'm excited about it,' Baskin said on the Thursday, April 24, episode of 'The Viall Files' podcast. 'The big thing that I keep emphasizing is we are not trying to do the thing that we did before. We're not trying to make the show that we did before. You can't do that. It's very big shoes to fill.'
According to Baskin, he and his fellow producers knew they 'would be met with some skepticism' when they announced that VPR season 12 would feature an all-new cast.
'The audience hasn't had a chance to fall in love with the new group and the new show,' he said. 'I think we're going to win people over. It's getting back to core principles [about] a very tight-knit group who works together, lives together [and] does everything together. I think it's really fun.'
What to Know About 'Vanderpump Rules' Season 12 After Cast Overhaul: Potential OG Cameos and More
He added, 'It'll be all the things that audiences loved about the show in the first place. It'll be messy and just a fun ride.'
The first 11 seasons of Vanderpump Rules highlighted the personal lives of a group of waitresses, hostesses and bartenders at Lisa Vanderpump's popular SUR hotspot in Los Angeles. The last season starred Katie Maloney, Ariana Madix, Tom Sandoval, Scheana Shay, Tom Schwartz, Lala Kent and James Kennedy.
News broke in November 2024 that season 12 would feature an all-new group of SURvers.
"What a thrill it is to build on the legacy of this series by doing it all over again,' Baskin previously wrote in a statement. 'With profound appreciation for the original group and their iconic run, we can't wait for the audience to see a dynamic new group of coworkers and friends make their way through life together.'
'Vanderpump Rules' Cast Didn't Know the 'Extent' of Reboot Plans — But They Had a Heads Up
The new cast, whose identities have not yet been publicly shared, started filming earlier in April with Lisa Vanderpump, who previously teased that they will be able to live up to their iconic predecessors.
'When you have a restaurant, especially in Hollywood, with a revolving door of beautiful people who are all kind of normally rather large personalities because they come to Hollywood for a reason, it's always complicated,' Vanderpump, 64, exclusively told Us Weekly in February. 'I am sure it's gonna be very different with these young little minxes when they get to work, but we shall see.'
Vanderpump further noted that there are 'some very interesting characters' in the new batch of episodes.
"SUR has been around a long time,' Vanderpump told Us. 'And as I [always] say, it's a show we could have shot 12 months of the year.'

‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' Season 2 Reunion Announced
God (Hulu) has answered my prayers (angry demands). We're getting a Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 2 reunion. And the first look photos are already causing drama. Hulu announced the reunion on Thursday, June 5, less than a month after season 2 premiered. 'After a shocking end to season 2, host Nick Viall reunites all of #MomTok and #DadTok to uncover secrets and scandals, never-before-seen footage, and a surprise announcement in the first-ever reunion special for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,' reads the press release. But who is 'all of #MomTok'? Based on the first look photos teasing the reunion, it looks like Taylor Frankie Paul, Jen Affleck, Jessi Ngatikaura, Layla Taylor, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews, Whitney Leavitt, and Miranda McWhorter will all be in attendance. As for their group nemesis Demi Engemann, she's nowhere in sight. Could this mean she's done with the show for good? Demi's absence shouldn't come as a huge shock. She stormed out of a #MomTok meeting in the season 2 finale after failing to kick Taylor out of the group, saying she needed a break. But is Demi really done with #MomTok, or could she return? Before you read too much into her absence, it's important to note that Whitney, who last we saw was newly voted back into #MomTok, is taking part in the reunion, as is Miranda, who has yet to be voted on at all. So it looks like despite her #MomTok status, Demi made a conscious choice to skip the event. Read into that what you will... Meanwhile, most of the #MomTok husbands and/or partners will also be participating. A sneak peek at the reunion shows six of the #DadTok members sitting in chairs behind the main cast, including Taylor's ex Dakota Mortensen, Mayci's husband Jacob Neely, Mikayla's husband Jace Terry, Jen's husband Zac Affleck, Whitney's husband Conner Leavitt, and Jessi's husband Jordan Ngatikaura. (That's one way to put those Jessi cheating rumors to bed!) Finally, the show will be hosted by Bachelor alum Nick Viall, who has had most of the cast on his podcast, The Viall Files. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 2 reunion will air July 1 on Hulu. I will be seated.

Taylor Swift Wore a Flirty LBD for Another Romantic Dinner Date With Travis Kelce
Taylor Swift quietly returned to Florida this week to spend more time with her boyfriend of nearly two years, Travis Kelce. The couple was spotted by multiple fans having dinner out last night. The two held hands while leaving the restaurant, with Swift dressed up in a flirty little black dress. Inside, Kelce and Swift were focused entirely on each other in photos fans took: Swift and Kelce's Florida date comes hours after a source told Us Weekly that the two were intentionally keeping a low profile. 'They are making fewer public appearances together because [their relationship] brings too much unwanted attention, but there isn't trouble in paradise,' the insider explained. A second source added that Swift has been living in both Miami, where Kelce has been training during his offseason, and New York: 'Taylor has been coming and going to Florida and is still spending a lot of her time in NYC.' A third source gave more detail about the singer's priorities in her relationship, saying, 'She is trying to spend as much time with him as she can by going to Boca [Raton, Florida, where Kelce is renting a house]. They are doing stuff separately out of necessity because of his training, but when they find time to connect, it's intentional and meaningful.' Yesterday, Kelce had a supportive boyfriend moment on his podcast, New Heights, when he discussed Swift's recent announcement that she bought her first six albums' masters. His guest Shaquille O'Neal said his favorite song was Swift's 'I Knew You Were Trouble.' The track was subsequently played. Kelce danced along, saying, 'Shout-out to Tay Tay. Just got that song back too, just bought all her music back, so it's finally hers too. Man, I appreciate that.'

How Bravo became NBCUniversal's biggest streaming asset
When Frances Berwick started at Bravo in the 1990s, the cable channel was still positioning itself as a hub for 'film and arts.' Berwick climbed the NBCUniversal ladder, eventually growing her domain to all of the company's entertainment cable channels, including E!, Oxygen True Crime, SYFY, USA, and Universal Kids. Her rise at NBCUniversal has coincided with cable's decline. Some 46% of households have cut the cord, and many of the networks she once oversaw faced dwindling audiences and profits to send back to parent company Comcast. So, the company amputated the afflicted limbs. All of those entertainment networks, along with news magnets like MSNBC and CNBC, will be overseen by a spinoff company, Versant, which is expected to be spun out by the end of 2025. But Bravo, the network that houses reality franchises like The Real Housewives, Vanderpump Rules, and Top Chef, is staying in-house. That's due in part to the fan-driven culture of its programming, which can prop up custom advertising, live events, and—the company hopes—their streamer Peacock. Berwick will lead the way: In January, she was named chair of Bravo and Peacock Unscripted, effectively merging the reality network with its streamer. Bravo isn't the perfect bet for NBCUniversal's television future. Its cable presence is sagging like most of its Versant counterparts, with an expected decline of 5% in subscribers and 6.5% in ad sales in 2025, per market research firm Kagan. (Bravo declined to disclose their financials.) Bravo also remains tied up in some long-tailed legal battles from 2023's Reality Reckoning, when claims of talent mistreatment challenged the network.
