Pat McAfee Announces Exciting Aaron Rodgers News on Monday

Pat McAfee Announces Exciting Aaron Rodgers News on Monday originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
It's been an eventful offseason for four-time MVP and former Super Bowl champion Aaron Rodgers.
After parting ways with the New York Jets following two seasons, Rodgers remained out of the spotlight for much of the spring—leaving fans, media, and teams wondering if the 41-year-old would return to the NFL at all.

That question was answered earlier this month when Rodgers signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers—long considered the frontrunner to land him if he opted to keep playing.
Adding to the headline-making offseason, Rodgers revealed during one of his first interviews as a Steeler that he is now engaged to be married.
And the news keeps rolling: On Monday, Rodgers' good friend Pat McAfee and the team at the "Pat McAfee Show" announced that the quarterback will make a live appearance on Tuesday's episode. While Rodgers has been a regular guest during NFL seasons, this will mark just his second time on the show since February.
'We also have some breaking news, A.J.," McAfee said. "Tomorrow on the program—it'll be a Tuesday—and... Aaron Rodgers will be joining us. First time Aaron joins us as a Pittsburgh Steeler. Can't wait to catch up. A lot has happened since the last time we talked to Aaron.'
Aaron Rodgers has never been one to reveal too much to the public—and understandably so, given the spotlight he's been under as one of the NFL's premier quarterbacks since becoming the Green Bay Packers' starter in 2008.

However, one thing he's remained consistent about is his appearances on the "Pat McAfee Show," especially since its debut on ESPN in September 2023.

His ongoing presence on the show is fueled by his close relationship with co-host and former teammate A.J. Hawk, as well as his friendship with McAfee. Now, Rodgers is staying true to that commitment, with a much-anticipated interview scheduled for Tuesday.

Chiefs Will Have New Travis Kelce in 2025

Chiefs Will Have New Travis Kelce in 2025 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Ten-time Pro Bowl and four-time All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce is already a legend in Kansas City. The three-time Super Bowl champion will turn 36 on Oct. 5 and is at the tail end of the twilight of his career. Advertisement But as he enters his 13th season in the NFL, is there a chance he can be better than in previous years? Maybe. Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported on Saturday that Kelce has lost some weight and slimmed down at least 25 pounds. "He will debut a bit of a slimmer look. He's told people close to him that he's lost about 25 pounds this offseason," Fowler said. "He played a little heavier in 2024; that was sort of a thing. He vowed to change it, and he has." This is all on the heels of speculation that Kelce may retire after the Chiefs' loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX a few short months ago. But Kelce squashed those rumors quickly. Advertisement "I'm coming back, for sure," Kelce said at the time. "I'm going to try to get to the best shape I've been this offseason and get back to the mountaintop. Got a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game and how I got the guys ready for battle. I can't go out like that." And now it appears he's coming back better than ever. Last season was the second straight season Kelce's numbers declined. After posting 1,138 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2022, he managed just 984 yards and five touchdowns in 2023. Last year, those numbers dropped to 823 yards and three scores with one more game played than the year before. But 2025 could be different, especially with the taste of an embarrassing Super Bowl defeat still lingering. Taylor Swift Credited With Huge NFL Stat Surge

Taylor Swift Credited With Huge NFL Stat Surge originally appeared on Athlon Sports. In an eye-popping claim, the NFL's senior vice president of global brand and consumer marketing said during last February's Super Bowl that 47 percent of the league's TV audience is women. Advertisement In less surprising news, Taylor Swift is getting credit for the growing genre of football fans. This week NFL TV personalities Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson hosted the latest episode of their Calm Down podcast from The Cannes Lions 2025 Festival of Creativity. During the show they touched on the topic of women getting more involved in the NFL. 'Our ratings are up for women, which is huge for us,' Andrews said. 'What's really cool is women aren't as afraid. Listen, America's Game of the Week, which is the game I do on Sundays, the demographic is split down the middle. It's like the highest-rated show for women out there, which is amazing for us." Fueling the increase is Swift, the pop music icon who just so happens to be the girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs' star tight end Travis Kelce. While many traditional fans cringe at TV shots of Swift watching a Chiefs game from a luxury suite or shots of her arriving at the stadium, there's no denying her addition to the NFL has brought millions of eyeballs with her. Advertisement 'But I think the casual fan doesn't feel as afraid to watch professional sports right now, watch the NFL because, well, our girl Taylor helped out with that. It's cool," Andrews said. "Which, we're excited. We want casual fans, we want fans that know a lot. Listen to the podcast, watch our broadcasts, we'll help teach you the game.' Smart-Enough Travis Kelce Takes Good-Natured Needle From Chiefs Coach

Smart-Enough Travis Kelce Takes Good-Natured Needle From Chiefs Coach originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Travis Kelce is no dummy. He has parlayed his athletic skills into a legendary NFL career, as few people can match his record of accomplishment as he continues to perform on his way to the Hall of Fame. Advertisement He has built a fortune on that resume, and has become famous in doing so, with a career in media now already established and a career in Hollywood maybe awaiting. Oh, and he somehow managed to get Taylor Swift as his girlfriend. How dumb can the guy be? But ... Kelce, 35, does not hide the fact that he was something shy of a top-notch student for a time in college at Cincinnati, and that he almost ended up losing his scholarship at one point in part because of some extracurricular activities. And yet, word is he managed to end with a 3.2 GPA. Add it all up, and one of his Kansas City Chiefs coaches, defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, thinks it's fertile ground for high comedy. Advertisement "Spags'' recently appeared on Travis' "New Heights" podcast, where he took a jab at Kelce. "I value what I call 'Football Get It,'" Spagnuolo said, setting up his punchline. "Listen, you don't have to be a 4.0 student in college, I mean, I don't ask about GPAs, right? Trav wouldn't be able to play defense if we were asking about GPAs." In truth, Spagnuolo would probably love to have a Kelce-like player on his side of the ball as part of this dynastic Chiefs era. As it is? The coach joined Kansas City's staff in 2019 and has played a part in all three of the Chiefs' Super Bowl wins since ... just as Travis has. Advertisement One on defense. One on offense. Both are plenty smart ... and it appears both have a knack for being smart alecks, too.
