But after Netflix has officially dropped the release date for the fourth season of its hit series Bridgerton along with a teaser, fans could not hold back on their frustration. Netflix also announced the renewal for Season 5 and 6 but fans are still disappointed for one particular reason.
The announcement came through a stylised letter from Lady Whistledown, shared on the show's official Instagram account on Wednesday.
"Dearest Gentle Reader, Rarely is this author granted the opportunity to share with you such information.
"It is with great pleasure that I can announce Bridgerton shall return for Seasons 5 and 6. Do celebrate accordingly,' the post reads.
It further revealed, "And in the meantime, do prepare yourselves, for Bridgerton Season 4 shall debut in 2026. It would seem this author is going to be quite busy. Yours Truly, Lady Whistledown."
'Dear readers, there is certainly much to celebrate, indeed...,' they captioned the post.
Besides the release date, the makers of the Bridgerton also released a teaser from season four, which shows the moment that Benedict sees his main love interest Sophie for the first time while at his mother's Masquerade Ball.
"My, my… It seems as though someone has finally caught the attention of Mr. Benedict Bridgerton. Bridgerton Season 4 arrives in 2026,' the caption noted.
But fans have not reacted altogether positively.
While fans are thrilled about the upcoming storyline, many have expressed disappointment over the extended wait.
'Girl make haste!! wdym 2026?!' a user wrote in the comment section.
While another added, 'I'm gonna be 40 when this show ends. I'm 29.'
'2026? then we probably have to watch in 2 parts,' the third demanded.
The fourth urged, 'We cannot wait any longer! MAKE HASTE!!!'
On the plus side, the ton is buzzing with anticipation as Netflix unveiled the first tantalising glimpse of season 4 showcasing Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and newcomer Yerin Ha in what appears to be the most electric meet-cute of the series thus far.
The 90-second teaser, released during the Tudum global fan event, captured the pair's first encounter at a lavish masquerade ball— complete with stolen glances across a crowded room, accidental touches that linger just a moment too long, and that signature Bridgerton romantic tension fans adore.
Showrunner Jess Brownell describes their chemistry as 'lightning in a bottle,' while costume designers reveal how intricate period details subtly foreshadow their characters' intertwined fates.

A Love Island USA cast member has been removed from season 7 of the show after clips of her using racist slurs began to be shared online. Yulissa Escobar, 27, was released from the reality TV show off camera during the second episode, before the rest of the contestants woke up for the day. As the islanders were waking up, the narrator of the show Iain Stirling announced: 'Yulissa has left the villa.' Clips of Escobar using the N-word while discussing ex-boyfriends surfaced on Reddit and fans of the show were enraged. Some left comments on her Instagram that they would vote her off at the first opportunity. Yulissa was paired up with Ace Greene who is now single following her exit. One comment on the Reddit thread read: 'How [the f***] did producers let this slide? They for SURE saw this.' Another user replied: 'Yeah, if people on this sub can find this in a few days, casting should have DEFINITELY found this. So either they're not looking into people enough or they're choosing to let this stuff slide. Not sure which is worse.'
