A man was arrested in connection with pointing a fake gun at a woman from inside a car at Duxbury Beach on Friday, Duxbury police said on Monday.
Nicholas Haddad, 21, faces charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and threat to commit a crime.
At around 9:30 p.m., a woman at the East lot of Duxbury Beach called the police to report a man in a black Nissan carrying a gun and threatening to shoot her, according to a department statement.
Officers arrived and spoke with the woman, who gave a description of the man and his car, the statement read. Officers later found the man at a 'high-risk traffic stop.'
The man, Haddad, was arrested without incident, police said.
Haddad told the officers that the woman had approached him and asked him questions, the statement read. This annoyed him and he pointed one of the guns at her after she shined a flashlight in his face.
He also told police that he had a 'BB gun' inside his car, which officers found was a replica Glock airsoft gun under his seat.
'The replica Glock was nearly indistinguishable from a real firearm and included Glock markings, a working slide and removable magazine,' police said.
Officers searching the car also found a second replica Glock Airsoft gun.
'Incidents like this pose significant threats,' the end of the police statement read. 'BB and Airsoft guns that closely resemble a real firearm can escalate situations quickly. Had the airsoft gun been pointed at or near officers or another armed individual, the outcome could have been tragic.'

3 Officers Injured in Virginia Shooting

Three sheriff's deputies were injured in southern Virginia on Wednesday during an hourslong standoff with a man who opened fire on them, local officials said. The officers, from the Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office, were met with gunfire as they served warrants at a house in Pittsville, a rural community, Sheriff Michael Taylor said at a news conference on Wednesday night. All three were struck by shrapnel, not bullets, he said. Their injuries were not serious, and one officer has been released from the hospital, Sheriff Taylor said. The officers were serving warrants for brandishing a firearm and trespassing, as well as a protective order, he said. After a hourslong standoff and negotiation, the suspect, identified as James Andru Lehnerd, was taken into custody. Mr. Lehnerd has not been charged. The incident appeared to be isolated, Sheriff Taylor said. Photos from the scene in the town of Gretna showed a heavy law enforcement response that included fire trucks, ambulances and at least one armored truck.
