Temperatures to soar near 70 degrees again Thursday

Yahoo13-03-2025

It's not quite as chilly this morning, but some of us will dip into the 30s again. We'll see some occasional high clouds throughout the day, but temperatures will again soar to near 70 degrees. There is still an outside chance of a stray shower south of Pittsburgh, but it appears quite slim.
There should be decent viewing conditions for the lunar eclipse tonight, which will peak around 3 a.m. Plenty of sunshine, warm air aloft, and a southwest breeze will push Friday's temperatures to near-record levels.
Rain is on the way this weekend, primarily Saturday night and into early Sunday morning. A severe weather outbreak is likely across the deep south and up toward the Tennessee Valley, with some gusty thunderstorms possible for us around daybreak Sunday. At the moment, the timing of the front suggests we won't see widespread severe weather but stay tuned to our forecast throughout the weekend.

Thursday afternoon showers come with chance of damaging winds, heavy downpours

Warm and muggy weather will help to fuel scattered showers and storms on Thursday. A few of the storms could bring strong winds and heavy downpours. There will be many dry hours, but showers and storms will pop up after lunch and into the evening, with the threat of damaging winds before sunset. Another round of strong to severe storms is possible Friday, with wet weather finally moving out after lunch Saturday. The threat of localized flooding may increase for areas that see repeated rounds of heavy rain. Make sure to check the latest forecast on Channel 11 News. Dry stretch, Canadian wildfire smoke continue Wednesday

The dry stretch continues Wednesday, along with the hazy sunshine; highs will soar to the upper-80s. Canadian wildfire smoke will continue keeping our sky looking a little hazy at times through Thursday. There are no air quality alerts at this time, but those who are particularly sensitive to respiratory ailments should limit overexertion outside this afternoon and this evening. Toasty temperatures are expected again Thursday; highs will rise into the low to mid-80s. Scattered showers and storms will likely develop in the afternoon hours ahead of a slow-moving front. Storms could bring strong winds, hail and heavy pockets of rain at times. This pattern shift will also help push the smoke out of our area for the end of the week. Scattered showers and storms will be more widespread on Friday; severe storms could be possible with more wet weather for the start of the weekend. Storms Friday evening into Saturday could bring heavy rainfall to the area and produce localized flooding. Make sure to check the latest forecast on Channel 11 News. Temperatures will approach 90 degrees Wednesday for first time this year

A toasty Wednesday is on tap with high temperatures approaching 90 degrees for the first time this year. We'll see plenty of sunshine, along with a touch more humidity throughout the day. Some smoke from the Canadian wildfires will still be around in the lower atmosphere and will keep air quality levels at 'moderate' levels, but overall impacts will be low. The overnight warming trend continues with lows struggling just to drop into the mid-60s Thursday morning. More clouds and humidity will be felt tomorrow with a couple of showers and storms during the afternoon. One or two storms may be strong with hail and wind threats. Daily chances for rain and storms will continue through Saturday as highs dip back into the 70s. Sunday is forecast to be mainly dry with more unsettled weather into early next week.
