Bobby Deol Sends His Best Wishes To Ahaan Panday For Saiyaara
Bobby Deol is the latest celebrity to have joined the bandwagon of giving a shoutout to Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda for their romantic saga, Saiyaara. He also sent his best wishes to the debutants. Directed by Mohit Suri and produced under the YRF banner, the film will follow the passionate love story of a young couple. Days before its theatrical release on July 18, the makers dropped its official trailer, which reminded the audience of Aashiqui 2 and Rockstar.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Bobby Deol shared an appreciation post for Ahaan. He posted Saiyaara's trailer link and wrote, 'Beta Ahaan Panday, so proud of you! Wishing you and the entire team of Saiyaara all the very best." Ahaan reshared the story on his account, thanking the Aashram actor for his support. He wrote, 'This means so much. Thank you for supporting us."
The trailer of Saiyaara, which was released on Tuesday, July 8, opens with Ahaan Panday's character putting up a strong fight, challenging what many today call 'nepotism'. It then introduces the female lead, played by Aneet Padda. The trailer then transports viewers into a world of love, giving a brief hint of the character arcs of the two leads, and ultimately ends in heartbreak. The 2-minute 44-second-long trailer introduces Ahaan as the macho newcomer building his career in music, while Aneet plays an innocent songwriter.
Saiyaara brings together Yash Raj Films and Mohit Suri for the first time. Besides its gripping storyline, the film's entire soundtrack, featuring chart-topping songs like Faheem-Arslan's Saiyaara title track, Jubin Nautiyal's Barbaad, Vishal Mishra's Tum Ho Toh, Sachet-Parampara's Humsafar, and Arijit Singh and Mithoon's Dhun, has also received much love from the audience.
As for what Bobby Deol is up to these days, the 56-year-old actor, who was last seen onscreen in a cameo in Sajid Nadiadwala's Housefull 5, has three films in the pipeline. First, he will be seen as the mighty Mughal emperor, Aurangzeb, in Pawan Kalyan's Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 – Sword vs Spirit. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and A. M. Jyothi Krishna, the film is set to release on July 24. He has also been roped in for Alia Bhatt and Sharvari's spy action film Alpha. Bobby also has Vijay Thalapathy and Pooja Hegde's Jana Nayagan in the pipeline.

DYK Mithun Chakraborty Once Ruled Single Screens, ‘Gave 100% Occupancy'?

Mithun Chakraborty, also known as Mithun Da, is widely regarded as one of the legends of Indian cinema. He has taken it to great heights with his incredible acting and dancing skills. Throughout his career, Mithun Chakraborty has appeared in over 400 films in languages including Bengali, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Punjabi. He achieved immense success in the 1980s and 1990s, and frequently challenged the industry's traditional portrayal of a Bollywood hero. In a conversation with Digital Commentary, Vishek Chauhan, owner of Roopbani Cinema, one of Bihar's oldest theatres, recounted how Mithun's stardom helped keep the business afloat during difficult times. 'Mithun is a legend, regardless of what others say. He used to give us two films per month. Every Mithun film opened with 100% occupancy. We knew the week would be great if it were his films. Usne single screen ko sambhala hua tha jab Bollywood dheere dheere apni elitist daur me nikal gaya tha (He had maintained single-screen cinemas alive as Bollywood gradually drifted into an elitist period)," Vishek said. Mithun Chakraborty Had Outshone Amitabh Bachchan The film exhibitor added, 'From 1985 until 1990, Mithun was rubbing shoulders with the best. People would sometimes rank him higher than Amitabh Bachchan because Mithun has grown so much and given so many hits, so he has experienced that level of popularity as well." Mithun Chakraborty Once Charged Rs 1 Lakh Per Day Vishek further revealed the unique business model of Mithun's films. Shot mostly in Ooty and often produced by Rajeev Babbar, the movies were low-budget but profitable. Mithun would demand Rs 1 lakh per day and the filming had to be done in Ooty. The crew would stay at the Monarch Hotel, which he owned. The film would be distributed to Ooty's theatre owners. Mithun Chakraborty Awards The veteran actor has garnered various honours throughout his career, including the coveted Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2022, which was given to him at the 70th National Film Awards Ceremony. He also has three National Film Awards and four Filmfare Awards. In January 2024, he received the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian honour.
