But you can indulge in the trend at home without breaking the bank.
Here's some ideas for treats to try . . .
TOAST UPGRADE: Jars of pistachio cream are pricey — at least £5 for a small pot — so make your own.
Buy packs of the nuts still in shells and remove the kernels yourself, if you don't mind putting in the effort. Roast the nuts in an oven to deepen the flavour, for around five to ten minutes on a medium heat.
Add a tablespoon of sugar or syrup and blitz with enough double cream to create a smooth and creamy texture.
The cream can be kept for up to a week, in an airtight jar. You can use it drizzled over yoghurt, toast, porridge or pastries for delicious flavour.
KEEP THE DUST: The dust at the bottom of packs of pistachios can also be used, according to Zineb Faress, of Moroccan sweet brand Raphia.
She said: 'Blend it with cream cheese for a savoury spread or stir into coffee for a nutty, Middle Eastern twist.'
DREAM DESSERT: Use pistachio to create easy treats. Try melting 70-per-cent cocoa chocolate (maybe Sainsbury's Stamford Street dark, 75p) in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water. Then stir in a few handfuls of pistachio kernels, making sure the chocolate thoroughly coats the nuts.
Take off the heat and spoon bite-sized amounts of the mix on to parchment paper. Pop in the fridge until set.

Fine-dining chef Dean Harper also recommends folding pistachio paste into whipped cream then alternately layering with crushed biscuits in a dessert glass, for an easy concoction that will impress any guest.

TV's Aldo Zilli tries all the supermarket cods – the delicious, authentic winner costs just 85p a piece
THE COD-FATHER TV's Aldo Zilli tries all the supermarket cods – the delicious, authentic winner costs just 85p a piece Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) IT'S National Fish and Chip Day tomorrow – and last week the classic combo was also named our top dish to order in the pub. But while a chippy tea remains a favourite, rising costs means many of us are forced to skip it. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 9 Celebrity chef Aldo Zilli rates a selection of battered cods Credit: Darren Fletcher Luckily, there are plenty of similar fish fillets available in the supermarkets to give you all the taste without the higher cost. Celebrity chef Aldo Zilli, who is a Scottish Fish and Chip Awards judge and head chef at Elaine's Restaurant in London, tucks into a selection of battered portions. Tesco Battered Cod Fillet Portions 4 pieces, 500g, £3.39, 52% fish 9 I don't know how they make this cod so cheap Credit: Darren Fletcher THESE frozen portions are Atlantic cod, which is sustainable and a good source, so I don't know how they make it so cheap. It's an excellent price for four pieces. For those nights when you want a chippy tea, you could absolutely cook an alternative with this box on standby in the freezer. With some chunky homemade or oven chips, it's perfect for a takeaway taste. It is not quite authentic in flavour as the batter is a bit soft. But the fish tastes fresh, with a good, firm texture and it's flaking and moist. The size of each piece is generous, too. RATING: 4/5 The Sun tries Wetherspoons' new menu Sainsbury's Battered Cod Fillets 4 pieces, 500g, £3.39, 58% fish 9 When picking up this Sainsbury's fish, be prepared for something more like a canape Credit: Darren Fletcher ONE of the higher ratios of fish but they do not seem plentiful. The pieces of cod have been cut in a meagre way and look like offcuts. I suppose that's how you keep the price down, and it doesn't affect the taste. The batter is a bit uneven and thicker around the edges. It looks like it has a batter crust, which is quite strange. But the fish tastes decent, is flaking and plump and appears and smells very fresh for a frozen piece of cod. Not oily at all. It's less than a pound for a portion but size-wise, be prepared for something more like a canape. Good for small appetites. RATING: 3/5 Asda Battered Cod Fillets 4 pieces, 440g, £3.75, 55% fish 9 Asda battered cod looks more like a biscuit Credit: Darren Fletcher AFTER cooking, I already don't much like the look of it and I'm not excited to tuck in. The batter is an odd, nutty brown colour. It should be a rich golden amber. It looks more like a biscuit than a piece of fish and the coating is so crunchy you could crack your teeth. There's a huge amount of batter that is so solid it's breaking away in shards, plus the cod is chewy and tasteless. This resembles something that has been sitting under a canteen hotplate for hours drying out. Not exactly a treat to replace a takeaway. RATING: 2/5 M&S Battered Cod Fillets 2 pieces, 300g, £4.50, 58% fish 9 M&S cod fillets are a bit more expensive Credit: Darren Fletcher THE fish inside are fresh, not pre-cooked, which means the luxury level has been upped here – along with the price tag. It is very good quality. You get good chunky pieces of cod and can tell from the shape it is a proper, bouncy, fish fillet inside. On the downside, there are only two pieces for the higher price, so great for couples but not for families. And it took longer to cook than the packet said. They taste very nice but the batter- to-fish ratio is off and the coating is too thick. But it does taste like chip shop batter and the cod is moist. RATING: 3/5 Aldi Battered Cod 4 pieces, 500g, £3.39, 52% fish 9 This Aldi cod is my winner! Credit: Darren Fletcher THE ingredients are pretty minimal, which is good, and as a freezer-friendly batter goes, it's a fairly authentic recipe. I really liked the look of these. Four chunky pieces of cod that will fill you up. The fish in the batter is the right proportion to allow you to enjoy both flavours without either overwhelming the other. And they both taste delicious. Excellent flaking fish and the golden coating is crispy, tasty and exactly the right texture. Frozen batter is hard to get right because it often goes soggy when you warm it back up. RATING: 5/5 Lidl Battered White Fish Fillets 4 pieces, 500g, £2.50, 53% fish 9 Lidl offer cheaper pollock instead Credit: Darren Fletcher LABELLED as 'battered white fish', inside the batter you get pollock. Not one you'll see on the board at your local chippy but it's not a bad alternative. The firm texture is similar to a piece of cod, so it works well even if it's not as flavoursome and moist. The main difference is price. Pollock is much cheaper, which is why these portions are more budget friendly. But if you are going to add ketchup, mushy peas and all the other trimmings, you probably won't notice it's not cod. Great as a kids' meal option to save you money. The batter had a strange texture though. RATING: 3/5 Iceland Battered Skinless Cod 4 pieces, 440g, £3.50, 52% fish 9 Iceland's option has a dense coating Credit: Darren Fletcher SADLY, these were not good at all. They were a decent size and the batter looked thick. But after I heated it up I realised just how dense the coating was. In fact, there was hardly any fish inside at all. When I pulled off all the outer layer, I was left with a teeny tiny amount of white fish. That wouldn't be so bad if the golden casing was incredible, but it was not great. It's not crispy and it dried out when cooking, so it sticks in your mouth. Altogether, tasteless, watery and lacks flavour. Not like battered fish at all. RATING: 2/5 Young's Chip Shop 2 pieces, 300g, £4.50 (was £5.75) 54% fish 9 Young's Chip Shop fillets are in an exceptionally crumbly, yet still light, crispy batter Credit: Darren Fletcher PROMISES to have bubbly batter just like you'd get fresh from the fryer. In fairness, even when still frozen, this looks like a genuine chippy piece. You get two really big pieces of cod and they've used the tail cut of fish like the longer, thinner pieces you are served in takeaways. They are in an exceptionally crumbly, yet still light, crispy batter made with sodium bicarbonate for a golden chip shop texture and flavour. Moist and tasty and there's more fish and less batter, which works well. It looks, smells and tastes incredibly like a chippy offering. RATING: 4/5

O'Brien serves an ace with Flushing Meadows at the Curragh
A Royal Ascot tilt may come too soon for the exciting two-year-old, but O'Brien has his eye on a return to Irish racing HQ for Group Two action later this month. Flushing Meadows (Wootton Bassett x Hence) strikes on debut as yet another exciting two-year-old scores this term for Ryan Moore and Aidan O'Brien @curraghrace — Racing TV (@RacingTV) June 4, 2025 'I'm delighted with him, he's a lovely horse,' said O'Brien. 'He was never away and he'll come forward loads. He'll have no problem getting seven furlongs. 'The reason those horses were here was in case they were Ascot horses. Ryan said he's lovely, but that Ascot might be a little bit too quick for him and to give him a little bit of time. 'He doesn't have to step up in trip and he might come back here for the Railway Stakes.' Flushing Meadows was bringing up a double for the Ballydoyle team after Moore got a fine tune from Amadeus Mozart in the opening Sky Bet For The Fans Irish EBF Maiden Amadeus Mozart opened his account at the Curragh (Gary Carson/PA) Another son of Wootton Bassett, he was the well-backed 10-11 favourite for his racecourse bow and although asked to knuckle down before two furlongs out, responded to his rider's encouragement to get the better of also-promising stablemate Dorset by half a length. It is a race O'Brien has won with Lope Y Fernandez (2019) and Point Lonsdale (2021) in the past and the leading players could prove key members for the Ballydoyle team in the future. O'Brien said: 'They are lovely big horses, they were never away so they are going to come forward plenty. 'Ryan liked him (the winner). He said he was a lovely horse and he wouldn't mind stepping up. 'He'll be a lovely horse next year, he's a very big horse. He was very green.'

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) IF your bank balance is getting in the way of your true style, don't worry. You will soon be able to replicate the iconic Birkin bag look with a new budget-friendly dupe. Even Kylie Jenner's daughter sported one when she was just learning to walk. However, at £11,000 a-piece, Birkins are not exactly a go-to buy for most people. But now you can pick up a similar style handbag at a much much cheaper price, and it is available in two colours. Fashion brand Tu have announced the re-launch a popular handbag style. The belted bag is will soon returned to UK shelves, reimagining the classic silhouette with sculptural lines. And this stylish and chic buy will only set you back £20, making it ideal for everyday use. In fact, the timeless design means it can be worn "season after season". Tu's Belted Bag is due to launch in late July and will be available from a variety of platforms. You will be able to order it online from as well as from I get stopped in the street by people asking where my perfume's from - it's a dupe of a designer scent & saves me £135 And most excitingly, it will also be stocked in select Sainsbury's stores. If black is not your colour and you're after something else, the supermarket is also adding a new Neutral Faux Leather Tote Bag in a classic cream shade. Priced at a wallet-friendly £20, this bag is sure to become a major hit - and you certainly don't want to miss out on it. Made of a faux leather material, the chic purse has a handle, adjustable strap, as well as multiple compartments for you to store away your daily essentials. One thrifty fashionista wrote: ''Really nice handbag for the price, nice large size but light in weight. ''Can use with handles or strap. Love it, beige or black. Nice every day bag.'' Someone else chimed in with their review, writing: ''For the price I had my money's worth and I will buy more as a back up. Great cheap bag for work.'' Tu clothing items are available in over 400 Sainsbury's locations across the UK. Birkin Bags remain highly sought after by celebrities and collectors due to its craftmanship. While a Birkin's exclusivity and rarity make it a hot commodity the style is actually quite relaxed. The classic Birkin silhouette is constructed in Hermès' signature retourne style. Why you should always buy a dupe over designer... Fashion Editor Clemmie Fieldsend says it's time fashion snobs stopped looking down their noses at affordable versions of designer buys. Bargain US supermarket Walmart became a social media sensation when its £60 dupe of Hermès' Birkin bag, dubbed the Wirkin, went viral. Influencer @styledbykristi gushed: "Eighty dollars (£60), you can pretend that you got a Birkin. I mean, everyone will probably know it's not, because who the hell has the money to spend on the real Birkin? Not me.' Me neither. And why bother? I would never spend that on a designer bag (although if someone wants to buy one for me, that's a different story). Plus, if I splashed that much, I'd feel I was being ripped off... We've all been told how the leading brands use the finest leather, thread, dyes and craftsmanship in the world. But all that is inflated by fashion houses to create the desired illusion of exclusivity. Just last year, Dior came under investigation for paying £44 to assemble a bag that sells for £2,000. So while you might think you are paying for top-level craftsmanship carried out by a true artisan, chances are the poorly paid workers are not seeing any of your hard-earned cash. Dupes — not to be mistaken for knock-offs that copy everything from the logo to the inside label — are a more practical and all-round sensible way to go. I bought my first when I was 18. It lasted me four years and only broke after I wore it in the shower. And these days, British high streets have plenty of dupes. In the past three years, Marks & Spencer, H&M and Mango have all seen huge spikes in sales thanks to their canny copies. They use the same viral, must-have marketing tactics that pricey brands have. Fashion folk will tell you that you are making an investment and buying a 'heritage piece' and will turn their noses up at a high street equivalent. But we've been wearing looks inspired by catwalk designers for decades. If we can buy a bag that's the spitting image of the pricier version, but doesn't mean you have to remortgage, why not? This means the bag is stitched inside out and then reversed, giving the piece a less structured and more relaxed shape M&S previously stocked a dupe for a Birkin bag that was over £10,000 cheaper than the original. Meanwhile, New Look has a dupe of the iconic Bottega buy, but £8,400 cheaper. And BooHoo recently slashed the price of a Molly-Mae bag dupe. 5 Olivia Attwood is also a fan of the iconic Birkin bag Credit: Instaggram / @olivia_attwood
