From BINI to Sabrina Carpenter: Here are new songs to check out

GMA Network06-06-2025
It's New Music Friday!
From rising stars like Suyen and Ziv, to big names like Sabrina Carpenter, BINI, and Sandwich, here are new songs to add to your playlist.
Addison Rae – 'Addison'
Addison Rae just dropped her debut album, "Addison."
The social media personality turned singer combined all her soulful pop beats in this debut, which includes "Diet Pepsi," "Aquamarine," "High Fashion," "Headphones On," "Fame Is a Gun," and "Times Like This."
BINI – 'Shagidi'
BINI turned this classic Filipino game into a pop song.
The Nation's Girl Group dropped their latest single 'Shagidi,' and it could easily make listeners dance, or who knows, maybe even put a new twist to the game.
Ed Sheeran – 'Sapphire'
Ed Sheeran turned away from his soulful ballads in 'Sapphire,' an upbeat love song in English but with a catchy hook in the Punjabi language. It is the third single from Ed's upcoming album 'Play.'
Enhypen – 'Desire: Unleash'
Enhypen just dropped their sixth mini album, 'Desire: Unleash.' It's got eight dance-pop tracks including 'Loose,' 'Bad Desire (With or Without You),' and so much more.
Gat – 'Rainbow'
Filipino boy band Gat is back with a brand new rendition of a classic Filipino song.
Turning away from their danceable 'Daleng Dale' cover, the guys gave a soulful, R&B take on 'Rainbow,' originally by South Border.
James Reid, TJ Monterde – 'Pahinga'
James Reid turned acoustic with the help of none other than TJ Monterde. The duo sings about taking a break following a challenge with a partner, and allowing each other to rest for a bit to save the relationship.
One Click Straight – 'OTW'
One Click Straight dropped one of the title tracks of their upcoming EP, 'otw/BROke,' titled 'otw.'
The Filipino alternative band tackles themes of commuting like loud horns and gossip, but also traveling to a loved one who feels like home.
Sabrina Carpenter – 'Manchild'
Sabrina Carpenter is back with a spicy new single, with a beat reminiscent of 1980s pop with hints of country.
In 'Manchild,' Sabrina sings about a man who is 'so sexy,' but 'so dumb.'
On Instagram, the pop girl said of the song, '[This] song became to me something I can look back on that will score the mental montage to the very confusing and fun young adult years of life.'
Suyen and Sandwich – 'Basura'
Rising rockstar Suyen teamed up with Sandwich for 'Basura,' a rock song about somebody who is messy in all ways, and that karma is coming for them.
Ziv and KAIA – 'Walkie Talkie'
Filipina P-Pop group KAIA got together with South Korean artist Ziv for the cutest song about yearning for a guy to talk to them.

Liza Soberano thanks supporters following traumatic childhood revelation, advocates for children's rights

Following Liza Soberano's tell-all about her traumatic childhood in the "Can I Come In?" episode, the "Lisa Frankenstein" actress took to Instagram with a deeply personal post addressed to her younger self, her supporters, and to children who continue to endure abuse and exploitation. "To everyone who has commented or messaged privately, thank you so much for the kind words and the thoughtful empathy that you have conveyed to me. The world is a better place because of people like you," she began. Liza then thanked her four-year-old self for staying determined and strong despite being "in the midst of a painful, upside down world." She admitted that sharing intimate parts of her life with the world was not an easy decision, but one she felt compelled to make. According to Liza, "It is a privilege and honor to be able to share my experiences so that even just one little girl out there can feel encouraged to speak up." "As an actress, my job is to entertain, but as a public figure, my responsibility is to speak up on things that matter, from a place that matters," she said. "If I don't speak up out of discomfort or fear, what chance [do] all the scared and voiceless women and children who are still in dangerous situations have," she added. In her carousel post, Liza cited figures about how in the Philippines, "as many as 100,000 Filipino children are exploited from prostitution and thousands more in forced labor." She cited the U.S. Department of State when she said "as of 2022, 1.48 million Filipino children aged 5 to 17 were working, much in hazardous conditions." "For anyone who needs to hear this, people may try to guilt you or shame you for speaking up. Don't let them," Liza said. "Only those with hardness in their hearts would discourage your voice." "Cruel people will try to discredit your story, they'll say you are exaggerating or being self-serving, don't mind them," she added. Liza also warned against those who may exploit others' trauma for personal gain. "Only those with no light of their own need to use the sadness of others as fuel for their egos," she said. "You will shine and they will fade away." In the caption of her post, Liza urged her followers to "make a stand together, fight together, and work together to create a safer and kinder world for each other." "Bit by bit, let's make meaningful change and stop allowing the callous and greedy from driving our narrative," she said. In Liza's "Can I Come In?" episode, she talked about her traumatic childhood in the United States. She also opened up about her about her breakup with Enrique Gil. Fellow celebs quickly left supportive messages on Liza's Instagram post. On Monday, "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" aired a previously unreleased 12-minute video of the King of Talk's interview with her in 2023, where she revealed the reason for their breakup. Liza's participation in "Can I Come In?" was first announced in May.
