Netflix fans rush to binge 'funniest British TV comedy ever made'
The ITV sitcom ran for five seasons, so if you're looking for a comedy with enough episodes to get lost in, this could be it, with the first four seasons now on the streamer.
Touted as Horrible Histories meets The Inbetweeners, the show is chock-full of puerile humour centred around a group of hapless friends living circa 26BC amid the Roman Empire.
The comedy follows three luckless lads – Marcus (Tom Rosenthal), Stylax (Joel Fry) and their dense house-slave Grumio (Ryan Sampson) – as they take on the big city of Rome.
Chaos, hijinks and plenty of humiliating hiccups ensue – and you just might learn something about the ancient Romans along the way, whether that be about gladiatorial sports or the mechanics of getting together for an orgy (yes, really).

The show takes its history surprisingly seriously, with producers that hold classics degrees as well as esteemed historian Mary Beard credited as an adviser on the show.

The show became a sleeper hit on ITV2 when it aired, with surprise guest stars that included the likes of Danny Dyer as Cassius the Gladiator.
The show bowed out in 2022 with a special feature-length Christmas episode entitled Soldiers of Rome, which saw the boys enlist in the army during peace time, before war breaks out (naturally), sending them to the front line to fight for a cause they do not believe in.
Since Netflix added four seasons to the platform (no sign of the fifth one there yet), the show has raced up to the third spot on the streaming service.
It's likely no surprise given the good reviews watchers have already shared on Google, with Kate describing it as 'the funniest, most brilliantly written comedy ever made' – so high praise.
They added: 'It's frustrating that it feels totally underrated. The characters are all so funny in their own right and the stories in each episode are excellent. More Trending
'The final feature length film had us in tears as well as in stitches! Brilliant!! We will miss it so much!!'
Will John echoed: 'Just finished binge watching the whole show and I loved it! Hate I found it so late in the game. It's a must watch!'
'I've watched every episode of this,' wrote Amelia Kendal-Williams. 'I think it's brilliant. Clever how it's an ancient setting but modern humour. Hope they make a season 6.'

Scottish Love Is Blind UK star faces backlash from co-stars after U-turn
Netflix's hit dating show is back for a second season, and one Scottish cast member has already been questioned by their co-stars. *This article contains spoilers for the first four episodes of Love Is Blind UK season 2.* The much-loved dating programme, Love Is Blind UK, has returned for its second series, introducing a fresh batch of single hopefuls to the pods in their quest for enduring love. The Netflix reality show features contestants prepared to meet their potential life partners and get engaged, all without laying eyes on each other beforehand. In this series, Netflix viewers can anticipate a whirlwind of unexpected twists, tears and complicated love triangles, with one contestant in particular drawing criticism from their peers for 'changing their mind in just 24 hours'. 31 year old Nanny and makeup artist Katisha, originally from Dumfries in Scotland, found herself in a tricky situation when she captured the hearts of 30 year old financial analyst Demola and 28 year old health coach Javen. Katisha, who has been single for six years and started feeling unfortunate in love, is ready to connect with "the right type of men" in her search for a future husband. In the pods, she formed strong bonds with both Javen and Demola, leaving her uncertain about who to choose, reports the Mirror. Ultimately, her decision left one participant 'blindsided' in episode 4, fittingly titled 'She Changed Her Mind Overnight'. Initially, Katisha pledged her commitment to Demola when he expressed his desire to progress their relationship, but her attention was swayed by Javen during their next pod encounter. This sparked some drama, as she subsequently turned down Demola's proposal, leaving numerous cast members stunned after he revealed that she wanted an exclusive relationship with him. When Katisha chose to accept Javen's proposal instead, Demola's mate Kal was particularly miffed. Watch Love is Blind UK on Netflix for free with Sky from £15 Sky Get the deal here Product Description He revealed to the cameras: "To see Katisha and Javen together has not really sunk in yet. I do feel bad for Demola and it was a big shock to me when he came back and said that she'd gone for Jav. "I just want to know her side of things, because the jury is still out on whether Katisha's made the right choice or not." When he challenged Katisha about her choice, he queried: "It's weird that Demola thought it was him and Javen thought it wasn't him. "Yeah I didn't take it lightly," she replied. "That wasn't what it was like at all and it was really tough. "It wasn't anything against him," she continued, as tensions escalated between them and Kal butted in: "Yeah, he never did anything wrong... At all. What made you go the other way?" Katisha then responded: "For me it was more that my connection with Javen was stronger so that's just what it came down to. "I definitely made the right choice. Happy with that, are you?" she concluded with an annoyed chuckle before the episode faded to black. Has Katisha made the correct decision? Keep watching to find out. Love Is Blind UK season 2, episodes 1-4 are now available to stream on Netflix.

Love Is Blind UK fans spot ‘huge red flag' as they beg star to stop ‘cringe' behaviour
Netflix viewers have already started binge watching Love Is Blind UK season 2 and they're already confused by one contestant's behaviour. *Warning - this article contains minor spoilers for Love Is Blind UK season 2.* Popular dating show Love Is Blind UK has returned for season 2, with viewers sitting down to watch the first four episodes of the Netflix series. While fans have already declared themselves 'obsessed' with the latest season, some have also taken to social media to call out one contestant for his 'red flag' behaviour. We are introduced to 'deeply spiritual' contestant Patrick in episode 1, where he begins to explore a connection with 29-year-old singer Aanu. Patrick, 33, who describes himself as a 'human design coach' speaks a lot about 'following his spleen' in his search for love. According to Netflix's Tudum: 'Deeply spiritual Patrick is guided by his spleen — yes, you read that correctly. He'll be relying on the organ to let him know if he's met the right woman, even through a wall. 'Patrick ended his longest relationship because he didn't know himself well enough, but after putting in the work and feeling secure about himself once again, love is what he's after.' Reacting to the bizarre concept and Patrick's constant references to his spleen, fans took to social media to express their doubts about the wellness professional. Posting a gif on X of someone running by holding a giant red flag, one person questioned: 'Patrick is a 'Life coach'?' 'Can someone tell him to stop mentioning the spleen,' another pleaded, as a third lamented: 'I never want to hear the word spleen again in my entire life.' 'The moment that guy talked about following his spleen, I would have been out of there,' another admitted, as one more simply wrote: 'Minister of Spleen is just cringe go away.' Another fan was particularly unimpressed, tweeting: 'Please the word 'spleen' is just making me cringe and feel physically sick. How many times are we going to have to hear this nonsense?' In episode one Patrick speaks about his spleen in detail, explaining: 'I have this thing where I follow my spleen. 'It might sound a bit weird but it's even more potent than your gut, and you follow it literally to the second. 'As soon as you have that feeling something's going to be good or bad, you just trust it. Listening to my spleen is the best way for me to find the love of my life.' It seems Patrick also left some of his pod dates perplexed by his 'spleen' chat, with her looking unsure as she replied: 'Oh… How interesting… Okay.' Meanwhile, Aanu seems keen to get to know Patrick - and his spleen - but will the pair make it past the pods? Keep watching to find out. Love Is Blind UK season 2 arrives on Netflix tomorrow, August 13.
