Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 — top plans and offers in Australia
The South Korean electronics giant unveiled the new device at its Galaxy Unpacked July 2025 event, and it's the company's lightest and thinnest Fold yet.
When folded, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is only 8.9mm thick — only 0.7mm thicker than the S25 Ultra — and when unfolded, it's just 4.2mm thick. When you consider that the ultra-slim Galaxy S25 Edge has a thickness of 5.8mm, that's seriously impressive. Add to this a weight of just 215g (3g lighter than the S25 Ultra), and it's clear that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is a true feat of engineering.
But what really pushes the Galaxy Z Fold 7 into true flagship territory is its upgraded camera, which now boasts the same 200MP main sensor as the S25 Ultra. Throw in that phone's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could arguably be considered Samsung's most premium smartphone ever.
With the release of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, many of the telco and retailer deals that were previously available have disappeared. That said, there are still some good offers and plans available for those looking to get the most bang for their buck. To make things easier for you, we've compiled the best Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 plans and offers currently in Australia.

Want faster charging on Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra? Prepare to be disappointed.
Ryan Whitwam / Android Authority TL;DR The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra has passed by the website of China's 3C regulatory body. The listing reveals that Samsung's upcoming tablet will have 45W charging, in line with last year's model. A Samsung executive previously confirmed that the Galaxy Tab S11 series was in the works. We're expecting a launch window in line with last year's tablets, and it looks like the Galaxy Tab S11 range is a step closer to launching. The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra (model number SM-X930) appeared on the website of China's 3C regulatory body. The filing also confirms 45W charging speeds (15V/3A). Check out the screenshot below. The 45W charging speed corroborates a previous Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra leak and is identical to the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra's charging speed. It's worth noting that the Tab S10 Ultra took almost two hours to reach a full charge, though. Needless to say, we hope the Tab S11 Ultra spends more time at peak wattage to shave a few minutes off the overall charging time. Other leaks point to a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, an 11,600mAh battery, and a waterdrop notch. So it looks like the Tab S11 Ultra could duke it out with the OnePlus Pad 3 to be the best premium Android tablet in 2025. The filing also suggests that we aren't far away from a launch. However, a Samsung executive told us last month that these tablets would launch in line with the company's 'traditional cadence.' This suggests we'll have to wait until late September or early October. Follow

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra's rumored 60W charging might not offer much of an upgrade — here's what we know
One of the most anticipated upgrades for the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the rumored addition of 60W wired charging speeds. However, a recent leak suggests it might not provide as significant an improvement as expected. In a recent post on Weibo (via Android Authority), IceUniverse claimed that charging the Galaxy S26 for half an hour will bring the battery level to between 75% and 80% from 0%. While this is by no means bad, it's not a massive improvement over the Galaxy S25 Ultra. When we tested the S25 Ultra's charging for our review, it reached 71% using a 45W wired Samsung charger after 30 minutes. Galaxy S26 Ultra (IceUniverse claim) Galaxy S25 Ultra (from TG testing) Battery level after 30 minutes charging from 0% 75%-80% (rumored official) 90% (possible) 71% using 45W Samsung charger However, as IceUniverse points out, the official data is usually quite conservative. He goes on to state in a follow-up comment that the 'actual' data indicates the phone could reach up to 90% after thirty minutes. This would be a marked improvement, but there's no clear indication whether these actual measurements come from tests on a prototype Galaxy S26 Ultra, or are purely theoretical. Samsung has remained tight-lipped regarding the Galaxy S26, but several rumors have pointed to possible changes. For instance, we have heard that although the overall design might not change much, Samsung could introduce some camera improvements, including a 200MP zooming camera with 5x magnification and the possible return of variable apertures. While the cameras might see improvements, we have also seen reports that Samsung plans to remove the digitizer layer on the screen to make room for a Qi2 magnetic ring. If accurate, this would mean that, like the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the phone would not support S Pens. Nevertheless, Samsung is reportedly working on a new type of S Pen that can be sold separately and doesn't require a digitizer to work. IceUniverse is a well-known source with a proven track record of Samsung leaks. But it's always wise to take predictions like these with a grain of salt. For now, we'll have to wait until we can test the phone ourselves. An official release date for the Galaxy S26 series hasn't been announced yet. But going by previous launches, Samsung will likely reveal the Galaxy S26 Ultra at a Galaxy Unpacked event in January next year, with the phones launching about two weeks afterward. Samsung announces next-gen foldable phone display, and it sounds awesome
What's happened? Samsung's display arm has lifted the lid on a new foldable screen brand it's calling 'Mont Flex', and it promises some serious upgrades for foldable phones of the future. If you were impressed by the svelte Galaxy Z Fold 7, there looks to be even better things to come. 'Mont' is French for mountain, and Samsung says it's chosen this name because it 'symbolizes the pinnacle of innovation in foldable displays'. Plus, each letter of Mont represents a key strength of the new screen technology. In its announcement, Samsung says 'M stands for mechanically durable offering outstanding folding reliability; O for opto-mechanically flat, delivering a vivid display with minimal crease; N for narrow bezels that maximize screen area; and T for thin and lightweight design that enhances portability.' In short, the new Mont Flex foldable display is thinner and lighter than previous screens, while also being tested to sustain 500,000 folds (that's over 130 folds per day, for 10 years). This is important because: Samsung is showing a clear commitment to the foldable form factor, and with common worries from consumers when considering a foldable phone linked to screen durability, a visible display crease, and overall size of the device, the new screen technology is a promising one. Samsung made a major leap with the Z Fold 7, trimming down the size of the handset to a slender 8.9mm folded and 4.2mm unfolded, closely matching the thinnest foldable on the market, the Honor Magic V5. The new Mont Flex display suggests we could see even thinner foldables in the future, with a minimal crease and smaller bezel around the screen – allowing manufacturers to maximize screen real estate. The weight of foldables could also be reduced thanks to this new display, which could lead to foldable phones sporting dimensions similar to a traditional, non-folding smartphone. Recommended Videos Why should I care? While folding phones are still very much premium devices, the continued development of the form factor will allow prices to come down over time, while improving the durability, size and viewing experience. We're not yet at the point of a 'cheap' foldable phone, but with the introduction of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE along with the more affordable Motorola Razr, there are signs of a shift towards slowly making the technology cheaper. And with rumors hotting up around a possible iPhone Fold launch in 2026, enhancements in foldable screen technology are likely to continue improving. Okay, what's next? Samsung will be showing off its new Mont Flex OLED displays K-Display 2025 Korea Display Exhibition (which runs August 7-9), giving the industry an up-close look at the panels. Samsung hasn't said when the new foldable panel will go into production, but seeing as it's showing it off at a trade show there's a chance it could be ready for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 which we'd expect to land in July 2026. And if you're looking for more foldable thrills, Google is tipped to announced its next foldable as part of the Pixel 10 series on August 20.
