Here's how this week's Monday Night Raw shaped up.
In the latest episode of WWE Raw, which was streamed live from Houston, Texas, on Monday, July 21, Roman Reigns made his first appearance since his surprise return to the WWE scene after a prolonged break last week. The fans were also glued to the Women's Tag Team Championship Match and an intense No. 1 Contender Triple Threat Match, apart from other exciting battles. Here's how this week's Monday Night Raw shaped up.
Roman Reigns Appearance
We inched one step closer to the much-anticipated SummerSlam Tag Team battle between the Reigns-Uso pairing and Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker with a thrilling closing segment, where Reigns made his first appearance after a surprise return to the scene last week. Despite the numbers disadvantage, Reigns stood tall against the trio of Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed. The four wrestlers jeered each other before the verbal feud escalated into a physical altercation. Just as Reigns appeared to be outnumbered, Uso arrived and rescued the former Tribal Chief.
Sheamus vs. Rusev
Reigniting their action-packed rivalry, Sheamus battled out a men's singles contest against Rusev. It was a rematch of their encounter a few weeks earlier. The fans were captivated by the intense exchange between the two wrestlers in the middle of the match. In the dying moments, however, Sheamus came out triumphant after delivering his finisher.
LWO Hammer, New Day, and The Creed Brothers
Executing a pinfall, LWO won the No. 1 contender triple-threat tag team match against New Day and The Creed Brothers after Joaquin Wilde rolled up Kofi Kingston. The match saw an interruption from El Grande Americano, who ran in to attack Dragon Lee at the ringside before Creed told him to leave. Soon, however, Wilde ended the showdown by executing the schoolboy pin.
Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez (c) vs Bayley & Lyra Valkyria
A highly competitive Women's Tag Team Championship match saw Rodriguez and Perez team up against Bayley and Valkyria. The intense but chaotic battle saw multiple interruptions from Dominik Mysterio, who was eventually kicked out by Rodriguez. Even AJ Styles appeared as a medic attempting to revive Mysterio. An interruption also helped the Rodriguez and Perez duo after Becky Lynch ran in and took out Valkyria. The duo then overcame Bayley and retained their tag team titles.
Karrion Kross vs Sami Zayn
Karrion Kross' exciting duel with Sami Zayn saw the two wrestlers land heavy moves on each other before Kross came out victorious after hitting Zayn in the ribs with a steel pipe. Kross maximised help from Scarlett, who had attempted to hand Kross the pipe earlier in the match. He then executed the pinfall for the winning moment.
Stephanie Vaquer vs Iyo Sky
In what could've been a thrilling battle, the Vaquer-Sky match had to be disqualified, with Vaquer declared the winner, after interference by Chelsea Green. As the Secret Service came to the ring to distract Vaquer, Green attacked from behind. Sky and Vaquer then managed to toss the group outside the ring to resume their clash. However, Naomi attacked Sky from behind. Rhea Ripley's music started buzzing inside the arena as she attacked Naomi before Vaquer and Sky combined to hit Green.

WWE SummerSlam 2025 Night 1 results: winners, shocking moments, injuries, and highlights

Image via WWE: Seth Rollins, CM Punk, Bron Breakker, Paul Heyman and Bronson Reed WWE SummerSlam 2025 kicked off Saturday night at MetLife Stadium, marking the first-ever two-night edition of the event. Night 1 featured six high-stakes matches packed with drama, surprises, and chaos, setting the stage for an electric Night 2. Here's a quick look at the results, injuries, and standout moments from Night 1. Seth Rollins stuns the WWE Universe, cashes in to steal the World Title after Punk and Gunther 's brutal outing The biggest winner from the night was undoubtedly Seth Rollins, who pulled off another shocking heist of the century as he returned and cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on CM Punk to win the World Heavyweight title. After a grueling 30-minute main event where Punk defeated Gunther to win the gold, fans thought the show had reached its climax until the unthinkable happened. Rollins' music hit, sending shockwaves through MetLife Stadium. Limping out with crutches and a knee brace, 'The Visionary' appeared to confirm the injury that had sidelined him for weeks. But in a stunning twist, he threw the crutches aside, ripped off the brace, and sprinted to the ring, revealing it was all a setup. Seizing the moment, Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on an exhausted Punk, unleashed a vicious assault, and pinned his longtime rival to steal the World Heavyweight Championship, closing Night 1 of SummerSlam with one of the most shocking swerves in recent WWE history. Roman Reigns and Jey Uso make a dominant statement with a decisive win over Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed Saturday's SummerSlam action kicked off with Roman Reigns and Jey Uso defeating Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker in a solid opener. The match gained added weight after Rollins' surprise cash-in later that night. Breakker and Reed will now return as Rollins' enforcers, possibly targeting tag or mid-card titles. Reigns, with clear unfinished business with Rollins and Paul Heyman, could reenter the title picture anytime. Notably, Reigns protected Uso during the match, hinting at either a renewed leadership role or passing the torch. Jey looks poised for another main event run on Raw, possibly building toward a future Reigns vs. Rollins showdown. The match delivered several memorable moments, with Reigns' dive being a standout from the action-packed bout. It is safe to say that fans definitely love a 265lbs flying 'OTC'! Jelly Roll impresses in an action-packed tag match alongside Randy Orton against Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul picked up a big win on Night 1 of WWE SummerSlam, defeating country star Jelly Roll and Randy Orton in a high-energy tag match. The bout featured wild moments, including Paul diving off the top rope through the announce table onto Jelly Roll. The spot was brutal and probably the most shocking celebrity bump in recent memory. The singer fired back with clotheslines and a chokeslam, but Paul sealed the win with a second splash for the pin. Despite the loss, Triple H confirmed post-show that Jelly Roll will be back for more WWE appearances. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss solidify their partnership with a big win to capture the Women's Tag Team Titles Another highlight of SummerSlam Night 1 saw Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss capture the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles from Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez. After a rocky start to her 2025 return, Flair has found her footing, thanks in large part to her alliance with Bliss. The duo has quickly become the most popular women's tag team in WWE, and their chemistry has elevated both their characters and the division. Though their partnership may not have been the original plan, Flair and Bliss have fully embraced the storyline, turning it into a major success. With two decorated champions now holding the titles, the women's tag division feels more important than ever. Tiffany Stratton reinforces her dominance with a decisive seven-minute victory over Jade Cargill In what was a shocking result, Tiffany Stratton beat Jade Cargill to retain her WWE Women's title. The company has largely protected Cargill since her debut, booking her as a dominant force with few clean losses. After steamrolling her way to the 2025 Queen of the Ring crown, she seemed poised to dethrone Stratton. Instead, Cargill shockingly lost clean in just seven minutes, as 'The Buff Barbie' continued her dominant run as the champion, looking more untouchable than ever. The loss leaves Cargill in a tough spot. She won her feud with Naomi, only to see her move to Raw and capture the Women's World Championship, while Cargill is now left reeling on SmackDown without momentum or direction. Sami Zayn defeats Karrion Kross in an underwhelming matchup In one of the night's least well-received matches, Karrion Kross fell short yet again, losing to Sami Zayn in a brief and underwhelming bout. After months of claiming he could unleash the darkness within Zayn, Kross failed to deliver, both in the ring and in the story. Despite the build, the match did little to elevate either man and left Kross looking like a clear loser. Whether intentional or not, the angle felt more like a burial than a breakthrough for the former NXT Champion. While it reinforced Zayn's image as a perennial baby face, that point had already been made far more effectively during his post-WrestleMania feud with Seth Rollins. Bron Breakker sustains an injury as Jelly Roll battles through his own setbacks heading into Night 1 of SummerSlam As mentioned, the night started with Roman Reigns teaming up with Jey Uso to face the formidable duo of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. However, Breakker may have suffered an injury during the explosive bout. After the match, Breakker was seen limping and needed assistance backstage, sparking concern among fans. The injury reportedly occurred during a high-flying move targeting Reigns and Uso. Later in the night, during Seth Rollins' cash-in, Breakker's right leg appeared heavily bandaged, further fueling speculation about the severity of the issue. Ahead of his WWE in-ring debut, Jelly Roll revealed in an interview with ESPN that he suffered an injury during his very first week of training. The four-time Grammy nominee shared that he broke his pinky early on, calling the experience a constant collision. Despite the setback, Roll pushed through and made an impressive outing on Night 1 of the PLE. The first night of the WWE SummerSlam 2025 turned out to be a roller-coaster ride, as CM Punk could only enjoy the title of World Heavyweight Champion for a few minutes. Punk did his best to beat the defending champion Gunther, but just as the WWE icon held the Heavyweight Championship belt in his hands, an 'injured' Seth Rollins cashed his Money In The Bank contract to fight Punk in the same ring. The eyes of the fans in the arena popped out as Rollins' injury turned out to be a ruse. It didn't take long for Rollins to beat Punk and snatch the World Heavywieght title from his hands. The manner in which the World heavywieght Championship fight unfolded drew reactions from all across the WWE Universe. Drew McIntyre called the outcome of the battle a result of 'Karma'. Seth has done exactly to Punk what Punk did to me, and tonight was the cherry on top. "Congratulations Seth. You deserve it, and karma is indeed a biatch." The entire situation prompted Damien Priest to cash in his Money In The Bank contract and take the title away from McIntyre.

Drew McIntyre Ruthlessly Mocks CM Punk After Seth Rollins' Shocking Money in the Bank Cash-In at SummerSlam 2025

Just ask Drew McIntyre. At SummerSlam 2025, CM Punk defeated Gunther in an instant classic to capture the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of Night One. But before he could celebrate, Seth Rollins made a shocking return, faking a knee injury all along and then cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase to steal the title and close the night in stunning fashion. And watching it all unfold from afar was 'The Scottish Psychopath', who seemed to relish every second of Punk's heartbreak. For McIntyre, seeing his former rival's dream crumble was a satisfying moment of revenge, and that too without ever lifting a finger. Drew McIntyre Labels CM Punk's SummerSlam Heartbreak as 'Karma' During the SummerSlam post-show, Cathy Kelley caught up with a very satisfied Drew McIntyre, who couldn't hide the grin on his face as he reacted to CM Punk's crushing loss. "Okay, I'm gonna have to say something about this. Karma's a hell of a thing. I've been watching what's gone on Raw with Seth (Rollins). Seth and I, professional rivals. Not like (CM) Punk and I. It was the night that McIntyre captured the World Heavyweight title from Rollins in a brutal encounter. In addition, an injured Punk served as the special commentator for the bout. And after his victory, the Scot tried to get in Punk's face and mock him. However, that proved to be a big mistake as Punk attacked McIntyre, which led Damian Priest to cash in his Money in the Bank contract and end McIntyre's reign in under 6 minutes at The Show of Shows. Punk and the Scot then went on to have a trilogy of matches in one of the most personal rivalries in recent memory. Drew McIntyre Finally Wins Big at SummerSlam 2025 Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul scored a big win on Night 1 of WWE SummerSlam, defeating country music star Jelly Roll and future WWE Hall of Famer Randy Orton in a high-energy tag team match on Saturday. The bout delivered several highlight-reel moments, none bigger than when Paul launched himself off the top turnbuckle and crashed through the announce table onto Jelly Roll, drawing a huge reaction from the crowd. Jelly Roll held his own, though, delivering back-to-back clotheslines and a thunderous chokeslam to the social media star.
