Apple tries to sneak a disguised iPhone 17 Pro into the real world for testing
In what appears to be our first look at a pre-production 2025 iPhone model, an X subscriber with the username @Skyfops posted a tweet showing someone holding an iPhone 17 series model hidden in a thick black case that hides the camera bar on the back of the phone. According to the X subscriber, the photograph also shows a burly security guard who tried (but failed) to block the phone from being photographed. Trying to figure out a more specific unveiling date, Gurman eliminated Monday, September 8th, and Friday, September 12th, since Monday and Friday events are usually not done by Apple. Thursday, September 11th, is out since Apple considers it in poor taste to announce new products on any anniversary of 9/11. The thickness of the case allows Apple to cover up the camera bar on the rear of the phone, which would be a dead giveaway that one of the phones being held by this man is not a model that Apple has released. You might remember that back in April 2010, an unknown iPhone model was discovered on the floor of a bar in San Jose, California. Google Messages is getting a bold new look on smartwatches
Google is continuing its slow rollout of the Material 3 Expressive design language across its apps, and its latest stop is Wear OS. The Google Messages app on smartwatches is now showing signs of a visual refresh, first spotted by a Telegram user on a Pixel Watch 3. The update brings visual elements that align closely with Material 3 Expressive: message bubbles now have subtle tints, buttons are filled with color, and interface shapes suggest more fluid interactions. Some list options now feature buttons with both icons and text, while others are shaped to hint at their scrollable behavior. It's not clear yet how widely the redesign is being distributed. While some users on the latest version of Google Messages are already seeing the changes, others are not, which points to a server-side rollout. It may also be limited to specific hardware like the Pixel Watch 3 or newer Wear OS devices. P When Jerry pulled the Z7 backwards, I cringed. I don't put too much on these tests but it is good to see the phone won't easily bend. One of main causes of damaged to the screen comes from the inside when heat damages the board or wires. The exposed wire rubs against the back of the screen and you get a black screen. It's not the only reason for damaged screens, but it is probably responsible for many of the damages that happens out the blue. The wires are very delicate. Also, OriginOS quick settings panel when separated is looking exactly like a cheap copy of the iOS one, while Samsung one is nothing like those two. And let's not talk about "Origin island". To answer your question, I'm currently using 3 phones like a maniac haha. I kept my s23 Ultra to use solely for gaming, as that takes a toll on the battery. I got the Fold 5 by mistake actually, my wife wanted to go from the iPhone 13 pro max to the 15 pro max but then reconsidered, as it was no noticeable upgrade for her. But it was too late, the phone was already ordered so we either had to accept the iPhone or choose another phone, and I chose the Fold5 for me. I was skeptical, as foldables for me seemed too fragile, but I also wanted to try one out really badly. And it worked out perfectly. The issue with Samsung (and Apple) are the atrocious cameras, so I bought a Xiaomi 14 Ultra last year, to use as a travel phone, got it at 600€ only. Great phone but crappy software and the battery doesn't last even as much as the Fold. Now I traded in the 5 to get the 7, because the issues I had with the Fold5 were all fixed for me in the 7, i.e. the thickness and cover screen. The battery lasts me all day, sometimes even 1.5 days, charges in an hour, is just great. Is it overpriced? Absolutely. But that comes down to personal choice. If Honor or Vivo would have the same software and customer support as Samsung, then I would gladly switch to them as they have better hardware, but as of now, people need to look at the complete package. For me, personally, the software experience is more important than 1-2 hours of extra battery or a better telephoto camera. But that's just me. That's why I said it's very subjective and you can't just blatantly say a brand has bad products just because you had bad experience. However my current device is 2 years old, it's a china only model, which has 80W wired, 50W wireless charging, battery health is still at 93%.
