
600 food baskets distributed to families in Niamey
NIAMEY: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center recently distributed 600 food baskets to vulnerable families in Niamey, Niger, benefiting 1,400 people.
It came as part of the Kingdom's humanitarian and relief efforts, carried out through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, to assist people and countries in need worldwide.
Meanwhile, the center distributed 260 food baskets to vulnerable families in the Rajshahi area of Dhaka, Bangladesh, benefiting 1,280 people from 260 families.
The schemes are part of the 2025 'Etaam' Food Basket distribution projects.
The fourth phase of the project aims to distribute 390,109 food baskets to 2.3 million people across 27 countries during the holy month of Ramadan, at a total cost of more than SR67 million ($17.88 million).

Saudi aid agency KSrelief delivers food to needy
RIYADH: Saudi Arabia's aid agency KSrelief has distributed 360 food packages to vulnerable individuals in Lebanon's cities of Tripoli and Jbeil, benefiting 1,800 people. The distribution is a part of the 2025 emergency food and clothing aid project in Lebanon, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the charity distributed 1,780 sacrificial animals in the Al-Madinah and Al-Wadi districts of Yemen's Marib governorate on Sunday. The initiative benefited 3,560 families under an Eid Al-Adha project in Yemen.

KSrelief completes pediatric heart surgery, catheterization project in Aleppo
RIYADH: Saudi Arabia's aid agency KSrelief has completed a pediatric cardiac surgery and catheterization program in the Syrian Arab Republic's Aleppo, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday. Volunteer medical workers carried out the project — a part of the Saudi Amal Program for Syrians — which ran from May 16 to 23, the SPA reported. The teams performed 28 cardiac catheterizations and two open-heart operations. In addition, 30 diagnostic radiology services were provided, 30 laboratory tests conducted, and medications dispensed to 30 patients. The project is an extension of the specialized volunteer medical initiatives carried out by KSrelief to help people in Syria.

KSrelief expands aid efforts across 4 nations
RIYADH: The Saudi aid agency KSrelief continues to make a significant global impact by providing critical assistance to some of the world's most vulnerable communities. The organization has concluded several medical projects in Damascus in the Syrian Arab Republic after offering specialized surgeries across various fields to 1,539 individuals. The 10-day campaign included pediatric and adult cardiac surgery, cardiac catheterization, general surgery, deformity and plastic surgery, and specialized clinics. The KSrelief-supported Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center in Hatay province in Turkiye provided medical services to 169 amputee beneficiaries in the course of one month. This support is part of the Kingdom's broader humanitarian efforts to strengthen health systems and ease the suffering of those in need. KSrelief also distributed 825 food baskets in Blue Nile State in Sudan, aiding 3,986 individuals in a single day. Some 1,020 food baskets were distributed across several governorates in Lebanon, helping 5,100 people. Since its launch in May 2015, KSrelief has implemented 3,438 projects worth more than $7.9 billion in 107 countries, in partnership with more than 318 organizations.
