Amanda Seyfried claims she is owed money from Mean Girls 21 years later
Amanda Seyfried has claimed that Paramount Pictures owes her money for using her likeness in Mean Girls merchandise.
Mean Girls was a 2004 phenomenon written by Tina Fey and starring the likes of Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, and Lacey Chabert.
The movie was a phenomenal hit, sparking sequels, a Broadway and West End musical, and a film version of the musical.
In the film, Amanda played Karen Smith, one of the 'plastics' aka the group of 'mean girls' in the film, who use their popularity to rule the school.
In a new interview for Variety's Actors on Actors, Amanda sat down with Nobody Wants This star Adam Brody to discuss their careers thus far.
The topic of Mean Girls came up in conversation, with Amanda admitting that she loves seeing her face on t-shirts but felt a little 'resentful' as she believed she wasn't paid for the use of her likeness.
'I really love seeing my face on people's t-shirts, I mean, I am a little resentful because Paramount still owes me some money.'
'For the likeness,' she clarified. 'Every store sells Mean Girls T-shirts with our faces on. Photographs!
'And I'm like, is it because I was 17 and dumb, or is it just like…you know what I mean?
'But I love it. Even the girl at TSA: 'Mean Girls, my favourite movie!' and I'm like 'Great!' I was 17, I had nothing to do with it.
Speaking about the film in retrospect, the Mamma Mia actress said that she is still excited to speak about it 20 years later.
On the Happy Sad Confused podcast earlier this year, she told host Josh Horowitz: 'I hope they quote it on my grave…. In many ways, it was just a perfect movie. More Trending
'People relate to it still, and it really, it connected us, and it continues to. And I will always be excited to talk about it…. I will, any day, honour that movie.'
She also reflected that she was very young when the film was made, and it was the first time she'd been on a film set.
'I think the experience for me is very specific, because I'd never been in a movie before. I'd never been on a set like that before. And I was working with people who had. So, for me, it was just, everything was new.'

Vicki takes action to keep EastEnders abuser Joel out of jail after assault
Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) makes it her mission to protect Joel Marshall (Max Murray) after his commits another sex offence in EastEnders next week. He pulls out his phone, and instructs Tommy to start recording. Stumbling through the carriage, he pretends to fall on a fellow passenger named Isla, who he goes onto touch inappropriately. Tommy is stunned by what he sees, as a terrified Isla rushes to report him to the police that are present in the tube station. Joel is apprehended and hauled in for questioning – just as Ross and Vicki witness what is happening. Down at the cop shop, Ross demands answers from the teen, as Vicki corners Isla and tries to comfort her. Vicki is supportive of the girl's decision to report Joel, and hopes that it will be the kick he needs to stop his alarming behaviour patterns. She then passes on her number in case she needs anything further from the family. Later that night, she comes up with a cunning plan, inspired by Ross' actions Down Under. Harris Yulin dead aged 88: Emmy-nominated Scarface star and Ghostbusters actor dies after heart attack
THE celebrated actor Harris Yulin who starred in Scarface and Ghost Busters, and was a Braodway legend, has died at the age of 88. He died in New York on Tuesday, as announced by his family and manager Sue Leibman. 2 Yulin was an icon of Broadway, treading the boards in Hedda Gabler, The Price, The Visit and Watch on the Rhine, among many other productions. .

Harris Yulin, character actor and Broadway star, dies at 88
Harris Yulin, a character actor with more than 100 film and TV credits, has died at the age of 88. According to Deadline, his death was announced by family and his manager. He died on 10 June of a cardiac arrest in New York City. The Los Angeles-born actor appeared in films including Scarface, Ghostbusters II, Training Day, Rush Hour 2, Night Moves, Doc, Final Analysis, Multiplicity, The Hurricane, Bean and Clear and Present Danger. He was also known as a stage actor appearing on Broadway in productions of Hedda Gabler, The Price and The Diary of Anne Frank. He also directed a number of shows including The Glass Menagerie and won a Lucille Lortel award for his work behind the scenes on The Trip to Bountiful. On the small screen, Yulin's credits included Cagney and Lacey, Little House on the Prairie, an Emmy-nominated turn on Frasier, Entourage, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, The X-Files, Billions, And Just Like That and 12 episodes of Ozark. Before his death, Yulin was preparing for a role in TV series American Classic with Kevin Kline and Laura Linney. The series is focused on a Broadway actor who suffers a public meltdown. 'Harris Yulin was very simply one of the greatest artists I have ever encountered,' said the show's director Michael Hoffman who had previously worked with Yulin on Michael Keaton comedy drama Game 6. 'His marriage of immense technique with an always fresh sense of discovery, gave his work an immediacy and vitality and purity I've experienced no where else. And what he was as an actor, he was as a man, the grace, the humility, the generosity. All of us at American Classic have been blessed by our experience with him. He will always remain the beating heart of our show.'
