MAFS star Davina Rankin reveals surprising secret about her sex life after split with husband... as she prepares to commune with shamans in the Amazon jungle

Daily Mail10 hours ago
Married at First Sight star Davina Rankin has divulged a very surprising detail about her sex life.
Davina, 33, appeared on the fifth season of the Nine reality juggernaut, where she failed to find love with groom Ryan Gallagher.
She revealed that she had been celibate for more than two-and-a-half years, following her split with husband Jaxon Manuel.
Speaking to the Courier Mail, she admitted that her celibacy was only supposed to be short term, but it has turned into somewhat of a lifestyle shift.
'I originally thought, one year — that's enough, right? But I just kept going. It felt so good,' she admitted.
From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop.
With the glare of reality TV cameras behind her, Davina has reinvented herself as a wellness influencer, and host of the podcast The Upgrade Edit.
She also hosts a series of wellness retreats in Byron Bay and Bali, and is gearing up to head into the Amazon jungle on a multi-day Ayahuasca retreat where she will be guided by shamans.
She told the publication that her spiritual pilgrimage could be just the thing that will see her 'explore love again.'
'I've been celibate for over two-and-a-half years, and I've loved doing this chapter for myself,' she said.
'But, I think after the jungle – after that experience – I'll have the capacity to find love again.'
Davina added that while the Amazon trip came as a 'surprise', it was one that the former reality star welcomed.
'I thought I'd be going to Tuscany, sipping wine,' she said.
'Instead, I've been invited to a spiritual centre in Peru. It's wild, but it feels right.'
Ayahuasca is a psychoactive brew made by combining the Banisteriopsis caapi vine with a plant containing dimethyltryptamine.
Traditionally used by Indigenous cultures in the Amazon and Orinoco basins as well as in shamanism, its sale is generally restricted due to toxicity.
Davina's celibacy admission comes after she split with husband Jaxon Manuel, with whom she shares daughter Mila-Mae, five, back in 2023.
She issued a statement confirming the break-up 'speculation' after fans noticed she had quietly unfollowed her husband on Instagram.
'Relationships are hard,' the reality star wrote. 'Given the recent speculation, I feel like I need to confirm that Jax and I have separated.
'I will at some point discuss this further, but my current focus is learning to navigate my new normal while providing a seamless and loving transition into co-parenting for our daughter.'
Opening up about the painful chapter in her life in June 2023, Davina confessed the reality of the break-up was 'heartbreaking'.
'We were just different people from the ones who tied the knot all those years ago,' she said this week on her podcast Who? Me.
'The only thing of essence now is that we can morph into the best versions of ourselves for our sweet daughter,' she explained.
The former couple had been married for less than a year when they called it quits.
Despite the amicable nature of their break-up, Davina confessed the road hasn't been all smooth sailing.
'This journey has been one of the most gruelling challenges I've ever faced. I have a whole family to consider and the desire to keep everyone happy,' she said.
Davina, who was paired with Ryan Gallagher on the 2018 season of MAFS, courted controversy on air after becoming involved in a cheating scandal with groom Dean Wells.

From health ‘cures' to very famous guests – UK's oldest spa turns 100… and you can get 50 per cent off stays

THE UK's oldest spa is celebrating it's 100th birthday - with discounts up to 50 per cent to celebrate. Champneys Tring is the UK's original spa, with the first health and wellness retreat opening in 1925. 11 11 Now, the destination is celebrating 100 years of wellness and relaxation. Champneys Tring is set in 170 acres of Hertfordshire countryside, with a gym, thermal spas and outdoor jacuzzi. Beyond this location, Champneys also have destinations in Forest Mere, Hampshire; Henlow Grange, Bedfordshire; Leicester Springs, Leicestershire; Eastwell Manor, Kent and Mottram Hall, Cheshire. And throughout the years and Champneys' destinations, the spas have seen a wealth of celebs including Naomi Campbell, Barbara Streisand and Brad Pitt. Princess Diana even stayed at one of the resorts but staff remained discreet about the details of her visit. Also over the past 100 years, what Brits want from a spa has changed too. Here's a look back on Champneys' history. 1940s Back in the early 1940s, Britain was gripped by war. Yet Champneys remained a "sanctuary of stillness, serenity and restoration". Despite the decade being defined by urgency and uncertainty, Champneys remained open for those in need of respite. Inside the English spa hidden in the countryside with a serene private outdoor pool away from everyone This even included notable guests like Clementine Churchill - the wife of Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Clementine Churchill wasn't just a political spouse throughout the war, she also was a hostess to diplomats, balancing her personal life with public duties. During 1941, Clementine's workload increased, with many people visiting her as the wife of the Prime Minister. She then decided to go for a short rest cure to Champneys, near Tring in Buckinghamshire. 11 1950s In the 1950s, hydrotherapy was then introduced to the Champneys experience. This included sitz baths, plunge baths, shower baths, spray baths, foot baths and spinal applications. Many of the treatments offered at the spas used the power of water to stimulate circulation and promote detoxification - which is still offered at the resorts today. In the same decade, body masking was introduced. This is where a thick paste or cream made from natural ingredients - such as clay, seaweed, mud or herbal extracts - would be applied to the skin in attempt to detoxify the body, improve circulation and soften the skin. Once applied, the body would often be wrapped in warm towels or blankets to encourage sweating and absorption of the beneficial elements. 11 11 11 1960s Later in the 1960s - thanks to the 'Open Era' of Wimbledon - tennis in the UK became more popular. Guests at the spa resort requested tennis courts and to this day, it is one of the most popular activities at the spa. 1970s A decade later in the 1970s, the fun and social activity of aqua aerobics was introduced. Interest had flown in low-impact, accessible forms of exercise that suited a wide range of ages and fitness levels. The spa also led the industry in embracing holistic therapies and infused aromatherapy and reflexology into spa treatments. Champneys claims this set a new industry standard of wellbeing treatments. 11 1980s In the 80s, the beauty, fitness and wellbeing industry in the UK experienced a major cultural shift. Mind and body wellness had entered the mainstream. Influenced by American fitness icons like Jane Fonda, aerobic workouts became a household trend. Running also surged in popularity as a simple, empowering way to boost both physical and mental health. According to Champneys website, it was in the late 70s and early 80s that they began to introduce yoga and meditation. "By weaving Eastern philosophies into our spa experience, Champneys helped bring mind-body wellness into the British mainstream - long before it was a trend," its website states. 11 1990s Then in the 90s, Champneys introduced the wellness bootcamps. The bootcamps have a holistic approach and have always included time for restorations with full access to spa facilities and treatments too. 2000s The 2000s brought cutting-edge anti-ageing skincare and advanced facial treatments to Champneys, with "the latest in medical-grade technology". Then in 2011, The Champneys Collection launched in partnership with Boots, bringing spa experiences into people's homes across the country and internationally. Now Today, Chamneys has four spa resorts, two spa hotels and two city spas. Eastwell Manor, for example, is the ideal hotel break in the countryside with access to health and beauty treatments, indoor and outdoor heat swimming pools, a gym, sauna, nature trains and brasserie. Then at Springs Resort in Leicestershire - the UK's first purpose-built health spa - guests are free to explore a gym, HIIT studio, dance studio, spin studio as well as other classic spa facilities. The spas still use and have many of the different elements that Champneys have collated over the years. Currently, Champneys is also running their Serene Summer Sale with up to 50 per cent off stays. Guests can get 20 per cent spa days, 20 per cent off one-night breaks, 40 per cent off two-night breaks and 50 per cent off three-night breaks if they book a break before July 15, for now until September 30. And on July 19 and 20, Champneys will be hosting The Wellness Fest with yoga and meditation classes, breathwork sessions, zumba, pilates, mini treatments, guided walks and talks. There are plenty of cheap spa breaks to book this year – with UK stays from £17pp & holidays abroad from £261pp. Plus, the 10 spa holidays in the UK and abroad with shell massages, huge pools and overnight stays.

It's camping season, and few items are as essential to pack along as a good source of light. ‘I found a genius travel storage hack to protect and organise your sunglasses'

I found the perfect way to store sunglasses safely while travelling, with this clever storage hack which lets you pack five different pairs and makes them easy to display on holiday When you're travelling, there are so many clever ways to pack and store your makeup, jewellery and clothes, but keeping your sunglasses safely organised is a little trickier. However I recently stumbled across this absolutely genius sunglasses organiser from Saint and Sofia, which lets you store up to five pairs of sunglasses safely. The Sunglasses Multi Case has slots for five different pairs of sunnies, and then rolls up into a solid, sturdy travel case that fits neatly into your suitcase or bag. What's more, though, is when it's unrolled it can be laid flat or hung up to give you instant access to all your glasses, making it easier to find which pairs you packed. The Sunglasses Multi Case (£99) has been one of my favourite travel organising finds to date, and as a chronic overpacker I'm always keen to find things that make displaying and arranging my things easier once I get to the hotel. With the multi case, all my glasses are in one place so I don't need to worry about losing them, and it lets me see which pairs I have at a glance. Each glasses pocket is lined with red velvet microfibre material which cushions them from any impact and prevents scratching on your lenses. The case itself is made from leather with a patent croc-embossed finish, and has a rigid, solid structure which means it won't get crushed or damaged. It fits almost every style of sunglasses I own inside, although some of my larger framed shades made it impossible to roll up. However when it was laid flat or hanging they fit inside fine, so that's definitely something to be aware of if you favour a larger pair of glasses. If you do need something for bigger sunglasses, this Jewellery Accessory Box (£45) gives you space to store your jewellery and a single pair of sunglasses. You could also snap up this bargain 3-Slot Travel Glasses Organizer from Amazon for £14.99, which gives you three slots in a simple flat travel case. However the hanging function of the Saint and Sofia Sunglasses Multi Case is truly genius; the loop fits over a door handle, hook or nail and hangs securely. Not only does this make it great for unpacking and storing your glasses in a hotel, but it also means it can double as storage when you're at home too. When you don't want it hanging, it rolls up into a stunning vintage-inspired travel case that fits on a dressing table or tabletop, ready to be accessed when you're leaving the house. It's not often I get excited about packing anything, but the combination of practicality and chicness of this storage case might just be the thing to make packing more fun.
