'Charlotte Tilbury's new double-ended lip liner makes my lips look like they have filler'

Daily Mirror01-05-2025
As Charlotte Tilbury's new Super Nudes collection drops, our Mirror head of beauty puts the standout Lip Cheat Contour Duo to the test– with results that rival lip filler
It's always a good week when Charlotte Tilbury releases a new product, but this week is particularly special because the brand is launching a whole new Super Nudes sculpting system.
Launching online today at Charlottetilbury.com, the range consists of four new launches to sculpt and define the eyes, lips and face in a flash, and join the other existing four products already in the Super Nudes collection. The new launches include: Lip Cheat Contour Duos, £21 each, Big Lip Plumpgasm lip gloss in Nudegasm Diamonds, £27, a Shapewear Brush, £28, and Glowgasm Face Palette in Nudegasm, £60 (a returning favourite).
While all four products are on track for viral success, the real standout of the range, according to Zoe, is the Lip Cheat Contour Duo pencils. Priced at £21 each and available in four shades to suit all skin tones – Light, Medium, Tan and Deep. Here's what she thought of the pencils when she tested them out this week...
Charlotte Tilbury Super Nudes Lip Cheat Contour Duos review
Zoe says: "Remember when everyone suddenly became obsessed with lip liner? We've got Charlotte Tilbury to thank for that – her original Lip Cheat put precision pouts on the map over a decade ago. Fast forward to now, and she's back at it with the brand new Lip Cheat Contour Duo - a genius double-ended pencil that's basically your shortcut to a fuller-looking pout (no needles required).
"On one end, you've got Sculpt - a powdery, deeper-toned shade designed to fake natural-looking shadows and add subtle contour. Flip it over, and there's Fill – a creamier, lighter tone that glides on like a dream to blend seamlessly with the sculpted edges. Together they deliver the easiest, most flattering lip contour of your life. Just look at my before and after– my boyfriend asked me if I'd had lip filler!"
Inspired by 90s supermodel nudes, the range features four dreamy neutral duos - think flattering pinks, earthy taupes and rich browns, all carefully crafted by Charlotte herself to flatter a wide range of skin tones. To really boost the volume, you can use the new Plumpgasm lip gloss in Nudegasm Diamonds to add extra 3D definition, which Zoe is wearing alongside the lip liner shade shade Light in her after photo.
Elsewhere, if lip plumping products are on your May wishlist, the new Morphe Hot Honey's Plumping Lip Oil is online now and exclusive to ASOS. A plumping lip oil with a hydrating formula is infused with manuka honey and chilli extract to give the ultimate plump, they're now shoppable for £11.20. REFY's Lip Buff lip serum and plumpe r, £16, is also a favourite of ours.
The Charlotte Tilbury Super Nudes new additions
Alongside the standout Lip Cheat Contour Duos, you'll also find the Big Lip Plumpgasm lip gloss in Nudegasm Diamonds, £27. This plumping gloss, which first launched last March, just got a nude makeover—and we're predicting it's going to be a hit. This clear champagne-nude gloss infused with light-catching crystal glow pigments adds instant dimension and shine.
It layers perfectly over liner for a fuller, 3D pout in seconds, and the formula is the same juicy, plumping hybrid as the cult-favourite Pillow Talk Big Lip Plumpgasm - think ultra-glossy finish with the comfort of a lip oil, plus long-term smoothing and plumping benefits the more you wear it.
There's also a Glowgasm Face Palette in Nudegasm, £60 - your shortcut to a lit-from-within look. With a mix of smoothing, illuminating nude tones and a blush-glow pop, this universally flattering palette acts like a face-lift filter, reshaping and defining the face with soft-focus dimension. It pairs perfectly with her viral Hollywood Contour Wand (which now comes in five new shades).
Finally, starting today, you can get your hands on a new Shapewear Brush, £28, which aims to bring Charlotte's 30+ years of red carpet contouring expertise straight to your make-up bag. This clever 2-in-1 tool features an angled brush for shaping and defining, plus a tapered, fluffy end that fits perfectly into those trickier areas (like the sides of your nose or under your cheekbones) for seamless blending. Whether you're sculpting, highlighting, or micro-contouring, it's designed to deliver a smooth, undetectable finish.
The new Super Nudes launches on Charlottetilbury.com today, as well as from Sephora.

Taylor Swift's heartwarming gesture to Zoe Kravitz as wildfires tore through LA

Taylor Swift helped Zoe Kravitz seek refuge after the devastating wildfires across California caused irreversible damage to dozens of properties across Hollywood A huge A-lister has revealed how Taylor Swift helped them seek refuge after the LA wildfires. Zoe Kravitz and her mum, Lisa Bonet, were put up in Taylor's lavish $25 million period home in Beverly Hills in a bid to help them escape the fires which tore through parts of the West Coast state. ‌ The fires have been estimated to be the costliest in history, with an estimated damage and economic losses of around $135 billion and $150 billion. The fires tore through over 12,000 structures, destroying around 40,000 acres of land. ‌ But while the 36-year-old and her mum were staying at Taylor's stunning home, they ran into a huge issue, which led to them causing substantial amounts of damage to the property. Speaking on Late Night with Seth Myers, Zoe, 36, revealed she and Lisa were forced to call Taylor's house manager over the situation. It comes after Taylor Swift shared a huge update on her upcoming album. ‌ "We ended up having to stay there for about two weeks," she said of her time staying at Taylor's home. She went on to add: "And Taylor has this beautiful house. It's from the '30s, something you want to preserve and take care of." Zoe had told her mum, 57, to be a "good houseguest" and leave things "better than I found them." But when it came to leaving Taylor's home, they ran into a bit of trouble. ‌ She recalled heading upstairs and finding Lisa "crouched in the corner in this weird way," behind the closed bathroom door. She said: "I'm like 'What's up dude?' and she's like 'So I was washing my face and I had Orpheus and I just put her down for a second. Closed the door and she found this little hole in the corner.'" Orpheus is Lisa's pet snake, later revealing that there was a banquette built into the wall, alongside a small hole. She explained that Lisa was able to get hold of the slithery creature and they both attempted to pull Orpheus from the hole. ‌ But things soon turned sour when the snake began to dig itself further into the wall, causing Zoe to "panic". She said she later managed to reach out to Taylor's house manager, who used a crowbar to "tear apart this banquet". Zoe recalled: "We're ripping up the tile. We're scratching the walls. I mean it's just like.." while explaining her mum had to hold the snake. She continued: "Completely destroyed Taylor's bathroom and there was just this moment where I was like, 'Either we destroy her bathroom or I have to tell her that there's a snake somewhere in her house.'" But while Zoe said she offered to pay for all the damages, she had asked the house manager not to mention the incident to Taylor until all the repairs were made. This, however, didn't go to plan, as Taylor phoned Zoe. She said: "I remember calling her saying, 'Hey, I wanted to talk to you about something.' ‌ "And she was like, 'Is it the fact that you almost lost a snake in my house and destroyed my bathroom?'" She also hinted that Taylor's upcoming album will be called Orpheus, based on the incident. The pair have been extremely close for several years, with Taylor being on hand to offer support to Zoe following her split from Channing Tatum last November. Meanwhile, Zoe branded Taylor's Era's Tour "crazy" and praised the star for being "scary talented." She said: "Taylor is scary talented at everything she does, so it's not surprising that she's so good. "But what is weirder, actually, to me, is that after she performs for however many thousands of people, that is, you know, she just comes over after, and like, we drink some wine, and like, eat a burger, and like, hang out."

Zoe Ball discusses 'problem' with sleeping arrangements after being seen with mystery man

BBC Radio 2 presenter Zoe Ball shared her thoughts on the matter, just weeks after she was spotted holding hands with a mystery man at Glastonbury Festival Zoe Ball has given her take on whether sleeping in separate bedrooms could spark the end of a relationship. Speaking with Jo Whiley on their Dig It podcast, the duo addressed a listener seeking their opinion on the topic. ‌ The listener, Emma, told the pair she was "exhausted" because her husband's sleeping habits, such as snoring, disrupts her sleep every night. ‌ Due to this, Emma said she's contemplating moving to the guest bedroom, but confessed: "But part of me worries if we end up sharing a bed, is that the beginning of the end?". ‌ Offering her guidance, Zoe, 54, said: "Emma I feel for you, in our household it's probably the other way round. I'm the one who gets up to pee a lot and I'm the one who snores. "I've had complaints from the kids in separate rooms who can hear my snoring. Beginning of the end, separate bedrooms?". ‌ Jo went on to confess that she doesn't share a bed with her long-term husband, but stressed it hasn't damaged her marriage. "So yeah separate bedrooms all the way," she declared. Zoe added: "I have been known to occasional get up and go and sleep somewhere else if it's Nel [Nelly, her daughter] or you know, to let someone have a restful night if I'm restless or to get a restful night if someone else is restless, you know with colds and flus and bugs and things like that. ‌ "And I guess there is that thing where you get that nice little bit of sneaking back in in the morning, but yeah this is the problem, the sleeping habits thing is tough isn't it?". Zoe added that her sleep is often disrupted by listening to episodes of Newscast or Desert Island Discs, adding of a particular night: "I didn't go to sleep at all, it was a complete disaster." ‌ The BBC Radio 2 presenter shared her thoughts after being spotted hand-in-hand with a man at Glastonbury Festival, back in June. An onlooker who saw the pair said they "seemed blissfully happy and were strolling along holding hands". "She was really smiling at him as they walked along and he was very protective of Zoe and put his hand across her back," they further told The Sun. ‌ "People were doing double takes at her bloke though because he looks a lot like Fatboy. It's so great to see Zoe smiling again." Zoe was previously married to Norman Cook, better known as Fatboy Slim, with whom she shares two children Woody, 20, and Nelly, 14. Following their separation, she moved on with Billy Yates, who tragically took his own life in 2017 aged 40. She later dated Michael Reed, but their relationship ended after six years due to reportedly "growing apart".

‘My make-up stayed in place for 12 hours' Amazon shoppers rave over £8 setting spray that ‘works even in 34°c heat'

BEAUTY fans are praising L'Oreal's £8 setting spray for keeping their make-up intact in the hot weather. The budget beauty buy is at its lowest price on Amazon, so shoppers can currently pick it up for £7.99. L'Oreal Infallible Setting Spray Mist 75ml, £7.99 (was £9.99) BUY HERE The L'Oreal Infallible Setting Spray Mist went viral on TikTok after users raved of its ultra-strong hold. It has a lightweight mist consistency that doesn't leave any residue, promising transfer-proof and sweat-proof formula. Unlike some other bestselling setting sprays (think Charlotte Tilbury and Urban Decay), L'Oreal's version is an aerosol mist, rather than a water spray. While water-based setting mists can be good for achieving a dewy finish, aerosol sprays are typically fast-drying, and are often great for locking in make-up on oily skin types. The £8 skincare product has racked up hundreds of five-star reviews. One Amazon shopper wrote: "It worked really well in 34 degree heat, my friend purchased this for a recent holiday in Turkey and told me to try it. Normally whenever I put on make-up on in heat it melts off after an hour, but this spray is truly amazing. My make-up stayed in place all night, so I came straight home and ordered some - a make-up bag must-have." Another added: "As a test I wore a cream coloured hoody to try it out and to my surprise I got no transfer when I pulled the hoody over my face! Normally I get a orange collar at this point even after using other setting sprays. I must admit by the end of the day there was a small amount of transfer, but nothing compared to other products and my collar had been rubbing against the makeup all day." One/Size On 'Til Dawn Waterproof Setting Spray, £32 L'Oreal's Infallible Spray has been compared to the popular One/Size Waterproof Setting Spray online, and it's a fraction of the price. Retailing for £18 for a 46ml bottle, the setting spray is also aerosol, and it works to set make-up in place and tighten the pores for a blurred, matte finish. Setting sprays are a saviour in the hot weather, as our make-up fights against sweat and humidity. It's one of the few products I couldn't be without for sweltering days in the office and holidays. While I'm yet to try the L'Oreal spray for myself, the Sun Shopping team has put other summer skincare essentials to the test, including the best sun creams and the best SPFs for the face. Several retailers have released beauty boxes in recent months dedicated to summer skincare, haircare and make-up, including Glossybox's Summer Beauty Bag, and Space NK's £80 Travel Edit worth £160. £105 worth of products for £30, including Sol de Janeiro and La Roche-Posay. The beauty box caused mass sell-outs on the website, so is unlikely to be restocked. L'Oreal Infallible Setting Spray Mist may be worth considering.
